Border 2: Diljit Dosanjh removed from Sunny Deol's film amid boycott pressure?
Border 2, starring Sunny Deol in the lead role is making the headlines ever since the ambitious project was announced with a star-studded cast. However, in a twist of fate, it looks like Diljit Dosanjh might no longer be a part of the movie. Diljit Dosanjh ousted from Sunny Deol's Border 2? According to India Today's report, the actor-singer was dropped from the film. The decision, however, is said to be made collectively by the makers and the rest of the actors. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has officially boycotted the actor owing to controversial reasons related to his other film. While an official confirmation from the makers is still pending, Diljit was working on the upcoming movie at the National Defence Academy (NDA). The FWICE recently penned a letter regarding the singer and notified Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh about the actor-singer getting boycotted. The letter was written in hopes of the ministry withdrawing permission for the movie's shoot at NDA. Earlier, at Pinkvilla, we exclusively reported that Diljit was supposed to join the shoot on June 10. Reports indicate that actor Ammy Virk might replace the Chamkila star. Border 2 is the upcoming sequel to the 1997 blockbuster Border. The first installment was an epic war film set during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971. Based on the events of the Battle of Longewala, the film was directed by JP Dutta. With Sunny Deol headlining the movie, it featured an ensemble cast of actors like Jackie Shroff, Suniel Shetty, Akshaye Khanna, Sudesh Berry, and Puneet Issar in leading roles. Apart from them, Border also had Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Tabu, Raakhee, Pooja Bhatt, and more in supporting roles. Coming to Border 2, the sequel movie will once again have Sunny Deol in the lead with Varun Dhawan, Ahan Shetty, Kapil Sharma, and more actors being part of it. The upcoming war film is directed by the Kesari fame Anurag Singh and is slated to release on January 23, 2026, coinciding with Republic Day next year.

Amid Sardaar Ji 3 Row, Diljit Dosanjh Not Dropped From Border 2: "50% Of The Shoot Is Done"
New Delhi: Diljit Dosanjh has not been dropped from Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan's Border 2 till now, a source close to the film's production confirmed to NDTV on Friday. Diljit Dosanjh has been embroiled in a controversy ever since the trailer of the film Sardaar Ji 3 released on June 22 and the involvement of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir came to light. Amid several threats, Diljit's Sardaar Ji 3 has released in overseas theatres today. What's Happening As Diljit Dosanjh didn't withhold the overseas release of his Punjabi film Sardaar Ji 3, Indian film body the Federation of Western India Cine Employees has been constantly threatening to ban Diljit in India. On Friday, several reports in circulation claimed that Diljit Dosanjh has been dropped from Border 2 amid the row. A source close to the film's development confirmed to NDTV that he hasn't been dropped yet. "The news about his replacement is not true. His casting was done 9 months back. and we have already finished 50% shoot," said the source. The Sardaar Ji 3-Border 2 Row Diljit Dosanjh has been facing relentless flak on social media as he didn't withhold the release of his film Sardaar Ji 3 overseas in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack. A couple of days ago, the FWICE wrote a letter to Sunny Deol as he's a part of Border 2. "Your decision to disassociate from this collaboration will reaffirm your enduring image as a true patriot and will send a strong message that national interest will always come before individual pursuits," the letter said. Border 2, the sequel to JP Dutta's 1997 war drama Border, has begun its third schedule of shooting a week ago in Pune. Addressing Imtiaz Ali - who is reuniting with Diljit Dosanjh after Amar Singh Chamkila for an untitled love story - FWICE said, "Your involvement risks sending a deeply conflicting message, especially given your influence as a director known for socially resonant themes... "We, therefore, strongly appeal to you to reconsider your collaboration with Diljit Dosanjh and withdraw from associating with any artist who has been officially boycotted by FWICE. Upholding the dignity of our industry and the nation must remain paramount over professional or commercial interests." The film body also appealed to the Government of India to blacklist Diljit Dosanjh and Sardaar Ji 3 makers from film industry, also appealing to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that their passports are revoked and their Indian citizenship is cancelled. Border 2 has been directed by Anurag Singh and the film is produced by JP Dutta's daughter Nidhi Dutta. In A Nutshell

Has Diljit Dosanjh Been Removed from 'Border 2'?
Various media outlets have been reporting that the Punjabi popstar Diljit Dosanjh has been removed from the upcoming film 'Border 2'; however, Hindustan Times has confirmed that no such decision has been made. The news of Dosanjh being removed from the highly anticipated film came after the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) called for the musician's songs, films, concerts, and live performances to be banned in India. There has been a increasing demand to ban the singer from 'Border 2' as well. This backlash has come because of the release of Dosanjh's film 'Sardaar Ji 3', which features Pakistani actress Hania Aamir. However, Hindustan Times reported that the film producers will not remove Dosanjh from the film, citing highly placed sources. The source said, "There is no plan to replace or remove Diljit from Border 2. The announcement about his casting was made almost nine months back, before any of the unfortunate situations had happened." "Almost 40-50 percent of the film's shooting has already been done, so making any change at this point is not possible," he added. On Wednesday, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) had written letters addressed to Bhushan Kumar (co-producer of Border 2) and actor Sunny Deol, demanding that they disassociate from their collaboration with Dosanjh. Neither has responded to these letters or issued a statement. FWICE also wrote to Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Home Minister Amit Shah to withdraw the permission granting to the production team of 'Border 2' for shooting at the National Defence Academy (NDA) premises in Pune. Netflix Global Top 10: ‘Jaat' Charts List For Third Consecutive Week
Indian stars Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda star in the Hindi film 'Jaat' which has charted Netflix ... More global top 10 list for three weeks in a row. Months after scoring big on the box office, Indian star Sunny Deol's new film Jaat is now impressing fans online. The Hindi film has made it to the weekly list of Netflix global top 10 for the third consecutive week. Netflix Global Top 10: Jaat Crosses 1 million views in its third week Jaat registered more than a million views on Netflix in its third week on the platform. Telugu filmmaker Gopichand Malineni makes his Bollywood debut with the film which hit theatres in April. It has managed to stay on the weekly global list of most-watched non-English films on Netflix ever since it landed online earlier this month. In its third week on Netflix, Jaat recorded 1.5 million views and 3.7 million watch hours. The Sunny Deol-Randeep Hooda film was also the most-watched film in three countries including India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Jaat ranked among top 10 most-watched movies in 11 countries for the week ending June 22. Last week, Gopichand Malineni's film was the most-watched film on Netflix this week in four countries including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Malayasia. It also ranked among top ten most-watched films in 23 countries across the globe. Jaat was the most-watched film in seven countries across the globe on Netflix when it debuted online on June 5. These included India, Mauritius, Bahrain, Maldives, Oman, UAE and Pakistan. The film also ranked among the top ten most-watched movies in 17 countries on the platform. Malineni's Jaat is about an eccentric and brave Indian man - the titular Jaat being played by Deol - and his chance encounter with a Sri Lankan immigrant (Randeep Hooda). The filmmaker makes the best use of typical corrupt politicians, immoral cops and ruthless women braving their way in an unjust society. Malineni creates the stereotypical populist cinema that hails from an action-filled world and uses the backdrop of the Indian hinterlands. Vineet Kumar Singh (Chhaava) plays one of the main antagonists in the film which also features Makarand Deshpande, Zarina Wahab, Saiyyami Kher, and Regina Cassandra. Jaat first released in theatres in April during the Indian festival of Baisakhi - a harvest festival mainly celebrated in and around the Indian states of Punjab and Haryana. The release date was deliberately chosen as both Deol and Hooda are huge stars in these regions and have a separate fan-following, thanks to their image of being rooted to the villages. The producers of Jaat, Mythri Movie Makes, have already confirmed that a sequel to Jaat is already in the works. Sunny Deol will return in the second film that will be directed by Gopichand Malineni. The latest Netflix India original - Rana Naidu season 2 - failed to impress global audiences in two weeks but has managed to stay on top of most-watched shows in India. Headlined by Rana Daggubati and Venkatesh Daggubati, the show landed on Netflix on June 3 and has retained the first slot on Netflix's list of most-watched shows in India for the past two weeks. Last week, Rana Naidu season 2 was India's most-watched show and it also ranked among the top ten shows in nine countries across the globe. The first season of the show also made it to the latest weekly list and secured the fifth spot when the second season debuted online. The show is created by Karan Anshuman and features Sushant Singh, Abhishek Banerjee, Gaurav Choprra, Arjun Rampal, Kriti Kharbanda, Surveen Chawla, and Dino Morea.
