New Eagles Super Bowl ring includes engraved Brazilian flag

Super Bowl rings include plenty of subtle details. The Eagles' new ring has an obvious one. Engraved on the inside is a Brazilian flag. It commemorates the fact that the road to Super Bowl LIX began in São Paulo, with a 34-29 win over the Packers. The team has posted a full explanation of all details of the ring, from the 18 green stones reflecting the total victories on the season to the 10 points of diamonds in the Super Bowl LIX logo that reflect a 10-game winning streak to 0.9 carats of diamonds on the expandable wings in honor of the six sacks and three turnovers from Super Bowl LIX. The creativity exhibited by the details in Super Bowl rings is impressive. But, alas, the Eagles had no reason for a reference along the lines of the 283 diamonds that showed up in the Patriots' Super Bowl LI rings.

Scott Hanson's ‘NFL RedZone' contract talks were ‘a knockdown drag-out negotiation'

'Seven hours of commercial-free football' nearly had a different voice for next season. Scott Hanson, the host of 'NFL RedZone,' questioned if he would return to his role before signing an extension to return for a 17th year. 'There was a time when I thought 'I don't know if this is going to happen,'' Hanson said on the 'SI Media Podcast with Jimmy Traina' this week. 'It was not my intention to have it go that direction. But you have to be willing for that eventuality or that possibility.' Advertisement 3 Scott Hanson at Super Bowl LI AP While Hanson did not share the financial details of his new contract, he confirmed that his extension will have him be the face of NFL Network's 'RedZone,' in which he shows live look-ins and every touchdown for seven-plus straight hours on Sundays though at least his 20th season. The negotiations weren't easy, though, with Hanson likening himself to an NFL free agent who wants to stay with his current team even as other landing spots see his true value. Advertisement 'The NFL, as they wont to do, they are very tough negotiators,' Hanson said. 'There was quite a knockdown drag-out negotiation, but I'm thrilled to be back. Thrilled that we were able to come to an agreement.' There was speculation Hanson was considering leaving for NBC after his Olympics whiparound show, 'GoldZone.' 3 Scott Hanson signing off the air of RedZone in 2017. NFL Hanson put those rumors to bed. Advertisement 'My contract was up, that was reported in public. It was coming up, and we were negotiating. That was true,' he said, 'There was a feel I was going to leave for NBC. Well, it was conflated with what I did with GoldZone for the Paris Olympics last summer, and the fact that I was and we were in the middle of a negotiation with NBC to come back and do future GoldZones. I think some people got part of the truth and reported that NBC was going to pull Scott Hanson away.' 3 NFL Network's Scott Hanson NFL Instead, he'll be back to his Sunday touchdown marathons on 'RedZone,' with a new season beginning on Sept. 7.

Tom Brady's Fourth of July tribute goes viral as he honors both America and his mother in heartfelt post

As fireworks lit up the sky across the nation on July 4th, Tom Brady took the opportunity to celebrate something far more personal than just Independence Day. In a heartfelt Instagram post that quickly made waves online, the icon paid tribute to the woman he calls his greatest coach and biggest fan—his mother, Galynn Patricia Brady. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now A dual celebration: America's freedom and a mother's strength For Tom Brady, the Fourth of July is more than barbecues and parades—it's the day his mother was born. Calling it 'one of the most important birthdays,' the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback expressed deep gratitude for Galynn's strength and resilience, especially during her battle with breast cancer. In his emotional tribute, Brady wrote, 'Happy Birthday, Mom. Thank you for being someone our family could always count on... Your strength, determination, love, and selflessness know no bounds.' Galynn was diagnosed with cancer in 2016, a battle she fought with quiet courage and unshakeable spirit. Her presence at Super Bowl LI in 2017, where Brady led a historic comeback, remains one of the most emotionally charged moments in NFL history. The quarterback added, 'We love you so much, and we're beyond grateful for every moment we get to share with you. Happy Birthday! And happy birthday to America!' Behind Tom Brady's career was a supportive mom who once hesitated While Brady is now revered as one of the greatest athletes of all time, his journey to the NFL wasn't always assured. In fact, Galynn was initially hesitant about her son playing football in high school, concerned about the sport's physical risks. But once she recognized his passion, she stood firmly by his side through every touchdown and trophy. Raised in a tightly-knit family in San Mateo, California, Brady credits both his parents for instilling the values that shaped his competitive edge. His father, Tom Brady Sr., was known for turning ordinary moments into challenges—something Brady says made the household both fun and fiercely motivating. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Brady's post wasn't just a tribute to his mom—it was a quiet reflection on values like family, sacrifice, and gratitude. In an age where public figures often reserve social media for polished branding, his message struck a deeply human chord. For fans, it served as a powerful reminder: behind the championships and the celebrity image is a man who hasn't forgotten the people who got him there. Years later, Patriots legend still has empathy for Falcons after Super Bowl LI loss

The Super Bowl LI matchup between the New England Patriots and Atlanta Falcons will forever live on as one of the best Super Bowls in history. The Patriots looked down and out, as Atlanta established a 21-3 lead at halftime. From there, the rest was history as the Patriots stormed back late with 25 unanswered points to tie the game and ultimately win in overtime. Patriots fans and players will spend a lifetime celebrating that victory. The same obviously can't be said for Falcons players and fans after suffering one of the biggest collapses in sports history. During an appearance on the "Dudes on Dudes" podcast, former Patriots linebacker Rob Ninkovich admitted he still has empathy for the Falcons after that loss. 'Matt Ryan, anytime he does anything, they ask him about that. It's like, at a point, I would just be like shut the (expletive) up," said Ninkovich, when speaking with his former teammates, Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. "...I wish they would've won a Super Bowl for those guys, right? Now, I'm happy that we were able to make that happen and win that football game. But I kind of sometimes have a little bit of empathy for those guys that didn't win a Super Bowl.' The Falcons had one of the greatest runs in franchise history with quarterback Matt Ryan winning Most Valuable Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year. Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan won the Assistant Coach of the Year award as well. The Falcons went 11-5 and won the NFC South that year. Nevertheless, that season will always haunt them because of the Super Bowl loss. Follow Patriots Wire on Twitter and Facebook.

Terry Bradshaw not happy with ‘ridiculous' treatment at airport

Terry Bradshaw's travels are never boring. Unfortunately, for the former Pittsburgh Steelers star and Fox broadcaster, he was the random traveler caught in the TSA's crosshairs on Monday morning. At Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, as the 76-year-old Bradshaw was walking through security, he was selected for an extra diligent search. 4 Terry Bradshaw was not happy with his dealings with TSA agents in the Branson airport. Terry Bradshaw/Facebook This did not amuse Bradshaw, and the person he was traveling with was able to catch his displeasure on camera. 'Im not against being safe but…This is ridiculous!!' Bradshaw said on a video posted to Facebook. 'TSA approved, had the body pat down, all the luggage checked, unpacked item by item. Now going into private room for ANOTHER pat down.' 4 The video was posted to Terry Bradshaw's Facebook account. Terry Bradshaw/Facebook While Bradshaw was not happy with this decision by security, he was fully cooperative and even joked towards the camera as he walked with the guard. Bradshaw was in Branson for 'The Terry Bradshaw Show,' which is touring across the country this summer. His shows consist of Bradshaw telling stories and singing. Bradshaw, who quarterbacked the Steelers to four Super Bowls in the 70s, just finished his show in Branson on Sunday. 4 Terry Bradshaw at the Super Bowl LI in 2017. Getty Images Somehow, this was not the first crazy incident that happened at an airport for Bradshaw this year. While on a flight that had just landed in Pittsburgh on April 10, the exit door became jammed, trapping passengers in the aircraft for an extended period. That is when, according to one passenger, Selah Gamble, Bradshaw unjammed the door. 4 Bradshaw during the search at the airport on Monday morning. 'The pilot announced and you could kind of hear he was chuckling as he said it, but he said 'thanks to the strength of one of our passengers, we were finally able to get the door open',' Gamble told Ricky Sayer of KDKA Pittsburgh. 'And I think we all knew he was alluding to Mr. Bradshaw,' But Bradshaw was quick to denounce these claims, posting to Instagram, 'Just to set the record straight… I did nothing to open the door on the plane! The maintenance crew had it open in 15 minutes.'
