Victor Osimhen finally has his medical! Napoli striker travels to Turkey to complete long-awaited €75m transfer to Galatasaray
Osimhen arrives in Istanbul for €75m Galatasaray move Pay €40m upfront, €35m in one year plus a 10% sell-on clause Set record as top scorer and most goals by a foreign player Follow GOAL on WhatsApp! 🟢📱 WHAT HAPPENED? After posting a photo of Galatasaray's badge on an Instagram Story, the forward posted a video of him about to board a plane as he prepares to travel to Turkey. According to Ajansspor, he will land in Istanbul on Wednesday and have a medical on Thursday. The €75 million (£64m, $82m) permanent transfer from Napoli follows weeks of negotiation and an announcement is expected imminently. Napoli will receive €40m immediately, with €35m to be paid over the next year, alongside a 10 per cent sell-on clause and restrictions on Osimhen joining Serie A clubs for two years. THE BIGGER PICTURE This transfer, the most expensive in Turkish football history, sees Galatasaray securing their record scorer from last season after a prolific loan spell. Osimhen netted 37 goals and provided eight assists in 41 matches across all competitions. The move signals Galatasaray's intent to dominate domestically and challenge in Europe, while Napoli lose the striker after a cold war who helped secure their 2022–23 Serie A title. DID YOU KNOW? Osimhen's 2024-25 Super Lig campaign set a new single-season goal record by a foreign player in Turkey. He scored a goal every 92 minutes and ended as the league's top scorer. WHAT NEXT FOR OSIMHEN AND GALATASARAY? Osimhen will undergo his medical and, pending successful completion, sign a multi-year contract with Galatasaray. The Istanbul side are also reportedly working on additional high-profile signings ahead of their Champions League campaign.

Aberdeen FC transfer latest: Pape Habib Gueye linked with move to Turkey as 'agreement reached'
Aberdeen striker Pape Habib Gueye looks set for a move to Turkey with an 'agreement reached' over the attacker. Turkish media's YS TV are reporting Kasimpasa, who finished 10th in the Super Lig last season, have struck a deal with the Dons for frontman and he will travel to Istanbul to complete his switch on Wednesday. Gueye, who scored eight goals last season, came off the bench to play a key role in helping Dons beat Celtic to win the Scottish Cup final in May. The former Senegal under-20 international joined Aberdeen from Belgian side KV Kortrijk on a three-year deal in 2023. He struggled to make an impact in his first season in Scottish football, but a loan move to Norwegian side Kristiansund BK proved a success, with Gueye scoring six goals in 18 appearances. The striker returned to play a leading role in the Dons' strong start to the last campaign before he suffered a quad muscle tear in training.

Ex-Rangers star John Lundstram ‘holds talks over shock move to second-tier European club where ex-Ibrox teammate plays'

But the chance to remain in Turkey could have been there for the midfielder, it's been claimed. After a slow start to life at the club, he established himself as a key man in the side. But Turkish Super Lig clubs are limited to the number of foreign players they're allowed in their squad and Trabzonspor have been looking to move on some of their current overseas stars this transfer window. Lundstram's name was earmarked at the beginning of the summer as one of those who could be moved on to free up a space, as well as former Rangers teammate Borna Barisic who has endured a horror time of things at the club. Then came the dramatic development over the last couple of days that Lundstram had LEFT Trabzonspor's pre-season training camp. Turkish reports suggested he had done so in order to TERMINATE his contract. Lundstram now looks set for a move to Hull City. A move to the Tiger could only happen if Lundstram was a free agent as the English Championship club are currently under a transfer embargo. While Hull are still allowed to register players, they are NOT allowed to pay a transfer fee for any new recruits. The club also look set to add another Trabzonspor player, Enis Destan, to their squad in the coming days. Major Mikey Moore Rangers loan doubts & 'strange situation' at Celtic + transfer news Go Ballistic While Lundstram does indeed look set to be joining Hull, it appears that there could also have been an opportunity to remain in Turkish football. Local journalist Serhat Kantoglu claims that Lundstram held talks with second tier outfit Esenler Erokspor. The club, who have ambitions to make it to the Super Lig, already have one former Rangers star in their ranks. They snapped-up Ryan Jack last year and he's gone on to become a key man in their midfield. Lundstram had caused a stir earlier this month by following the club on Instagram, leading to plenty of fans speculating that he could be about to join the club. While that new report claims talks were held, Hull certainly still appears to be Lundstram's destination. Rangers, meanwhile, are closing in on the signing of Mikey Moore from Tottenham. The winger, 17, looks set to join the Light Blues on loan for the season amid interest from several other English clubs. 3 Ryan Jack is on the books of Esenler Erokspor Credit: PA Have YOU got a point for Kris Boyd? Ole Gunnar Solskjaer 'open to reuniting with former Manchester United star' as the Besiktas boss considers handing the 24-year-old a career lifeline
Besiktas manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly debating a move for a former Manchester United star. After a glittering playing career at Old Trafford that saw him etch his name in club folklore, Solskjaer went on to spent nearly three years in the hot seat at Old Trafford as manager between 2018 and 2021. In January, Solskjaer took his first managerial position since being sacked by United and led Besiktas to a fourth-place finish in the Turkish Super Lig. And as he prepares for his first full campaign in charge of the Black Eagles, Solskjaer is said to be eyeing a former Man United player to help shore up his defence. According to a report from The Sun, the Norwegian is open to a move for United academy graduate and former England youth international, Brandon Williams. Williams thrived under Solskjaer's leadership at Old Trafford, and was handed his senior debut by the Champions League winner in September 2019. The 24-year-old would go on to make 36 appearances in all competitions in what appeared to a breakout campaign for the latest Carrington graduate tipped for success in the game. However, Williams subsequently found first team opportunities difficult to come by and was sent out on loan with spells East Anglia with both Norwich and Ipswich. During the latter of the two, Williams fell out of favour at a promotion-chasing Tractor Boys side under then-boss Kieran McKenna as his off-field problems began to come to the fore. In May Williams was handed a 14-month suspended jail sentence for dangerous driving. The defender had been 'driving erratically' in his Audi A3 before hitting a Ford Fiesta and careering into the central reservation of the A34 in Cheshire at almost 100mph. Williams admitted he had been trying to show off to a female passenger who was sitting next to him, and a witness is said to have filmed him with a balloon by his mouth. Prosecutors said it was 'fortunate' nobody was seriously injured or killed. Judge Lamb, sitting in the Chester Crown Court, told Williams 'there was no reason for driving in the way you did' but said there was 'strong personal mitigation' after committing the offence at a time of depression. Williams, who had been partying shortly before the crash, was told he had been 'stupid' and earned 'too much too soon'.
