Three of family get life term for murder
Sasaram: An additional district judge (ADJ) in Rohtas has awarded life-term imprisonment and significant fines to three people of a family, convicted in a decade-old murder case , on Friday. Convicts Sushil, Bhagwan and Suresh Paswan, all residents of Agrer police station area, were each fined Rs 5,000 by ADJ-19 Dinesh Kumar Pradhan. An FIR in the murder case of one Abhijeet Paswan was filed by his father Shankar, a resident of Agrer, at the local police station. According to additional public prosecutor Laxman Singh, the incident occurred on June 30, 2015, in Jigna village under Agrer police station. The complainant's son Abhijeet left home around 4pm for a walk and never returned. His family initiated a search, but their efforts proved fruitless until next morning when Abhijeet's body was discovered by village women in a field outside Jigna. The motive behind the killing was identified as a long-standing dispute over a street drain. During the trial, the prosecution presented eight witnesses. Based on the evidence and testimonies, the court found the accused guilty under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code.

Firing incident: Case lodged against SAP jawan in Bhojpur
Ara: Following the death of one Sushil Yadav (45) in alleged firing by prohibition and excise department team of Jagdishpur, an FIR was lodged on Monday with Shahpur police station against a SAP jawan Arvind Kumar. "An FIR was lodged by the family members of Sushil of Shahpur nagar panchayat ward no. 3 with Shahpur police station against SAP jawan Arvind who has been made accused along with the prohibition and excise team," said Shahpur PS station house officer (SHO), Kumar Rajnikant, on Monday. Following the firing incident, the SAP jawan was held captive by the angry villagers and thrashed badly. "The SAP jawan was freed after the intervention of the senior police and excise department officials as well as the local representatives," said Jagdishpur SDPO Rajesh Kumar Sharma. The SAP jawan, who is undergoing treatment at the Sadar Hospital Ara, said: "When stone pelting started, my senior, an ASI, told me that I can open fire in the air in my self-defence. However, when I was going to fire the second shot in the air, suddenly someone hit my head with something and the trigger was pressed accidentally. The villagers held me hostage for many hours and beat me up badly." Hardly we had overcome the tragedy, when my father died in the police firing. Just a few minutes before his death, I had called my father on the phone and asked him to come home for dinner as the weather was inclement. He said that he would reach home within half an hour from his shop where he sold litti chokha. "

BMTC introduces seven new express services, two tour packages in Bengaluru
The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) on Tuesday introduced seven new express services, including two routes with AC buses. Six of the services start from Kempegowda Bus Stand and ply to Bidadi, Anekal, Doddaballapur, Dabaspet, and Hoskote. One of the bus services plies between Hebbal and Central Silk Board. Additionally, BMTC has introduced two new tour packages: Divya Darshana 5 and Divya Darshana 6 on weekends and public holidays. Divya Darshana 5 buses will start at Central Silk Board around 9 a.m. and ply to Nageshwara Temple in Begur, Kote Thimmaraya Temple in Bettadasanapura, Madduramma Temple in Huskur, Varadarajaswamy Chowdeshwari in Narayanaghatta, Sushil Dham-Jain Temple near Guddahatti Gate, Bhoo Varaha Swamy Temple in Mugalur, Chikka Tirupathi, Shaneshwara Swamy Temple in Gunjuru, and Jagannath Temple in Agara, and return to the starting point at 7.30 pm. Divya Darshana 6 bus will start at KBS at 9 a.m. and ply to Circle Maramma Temple in Malleswaram, Kalika Durga Parameshwari in Vidyaranyapura, Kashi Vishwanatha Temple in Attur, Srinivasa Temple near NES, Thimmarayaswamy Temple near Avathi, Sri Shirdi Saibaba Temple in Avathi, Jain Temple in Devanahalli, Lakshmi Bhoo Varaha Swamy Temple, and return to the end point at 7.30 pm. Both Divya Darshana 5 and 6 cost ₹500 for an adult and ₹375 for children.

Five pose as govt officers, abduct two for extortion; arrested in city
Jaipur: In a dramatic case of impersonation and abduction, the city's Jawahar Circle police station Wednesday arrested five persons who allegedly posed as officials of a central investigation agency officers to abduct two men and extort money. The accused—identified as Jitendra Singh, Vidhadatt, Anil, Om Singh, and Manoj Kumar—were caught after the victims managed to escape and later filed a named FIR. The complaint was lodged by Prabhumal Chaudhary alias PN Dudi, a resident of Shiva Nagar, Sanganer. He stated that on June 28, he was at his restaurant "Hub Forty" near Gaurav Tower when he received a WhatsApp call from his friend Mukesh Ranwa, asking to meet nearby. Upon reaching, Prabhumal found Mukesh already in the back seat of a car. He was forcibly made to sit in the vehicle, after which two more men entered. His mobile phone, watch, and personal belongings were snatched, and a black cloth was tied over his face. The accused assaulted him and asked about another individual named Sushil. The victims were made to sign blank documents and forms. Sushil was later abducted from a five-star hotel using a similar ruse. Both men were held in a hotel on the Bhilwara highway. The accused took their phones, but once switched on, incoming calls from family members raised suspicion, prompting relatives to alert the police. Sensing the tightening noose, the two victims managed to escape through nearby fields and contacted the police. Initially hesitant to file a complaint, they later returned to Jaipur and named the accused in the FIR. All five were arrested and presented in court, where they were sent to judicial custody. The gang used a rented car in Jaipur and reportedly travelled from Delhi in a private vehicle. Police are investigating the possibility of similar crimes linked to the accused.
