One more accused held in Patti registry office firing incident

Prayagraj: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested another accused wanted in connection with the Patti tehsil registry office firing incident. The accused, identified as Santosh Singh (45) of Bibipur, was arrested by a special police team from Vibhuti Khand in Lucknow. He was carrying a Rs 25,000 cash reward on his head. With this arrest, cops claimed to have nabbed six miscreants, including three of them carrying a Rs 25,000 cash reward each on their respective heads. A senior cop told TOI that those arrested so far included Shivam Pandey, Vipin Pandey alias Vikas Pandey, Jai Prakash Maurya, Harish Jaiswal alias Panne, Akhilesh Srivastava and Santosh Singh, who were involved in the Patti registry office firing incident. He added: "Five special teams are zeroing in on three more absconders, including the block chief of Baba Belkharnath Dham Sushil Singh, who were also involved in the firing incident." The incident took place inside the Patti Tehsil campus when Sushil Singh allegedly opened fire at around 1pm, injuring Arun Mishra and Aditya Mishra of Chanda police station area in neighboring Sultanpur district. The entire incident was captured on CCTV.

Prayagraj: Pratapgarh police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested five criminals, including two of them carrying a Rs 25,000 cash reward each for allegedly involved in the Patti tehsil registry office firing incident. The police have seized nine vehicles from their possession. The arrested persons were identified as Shivam Pandey (30) and his brother Vipin Pandey alias Vikas Pandey (25), both residents of Aurain village. Besides, police have also arrested three more miscreants, including Jai Prakash Maurya alias Chandu Maurya of Birauti, Harish Jaiswal alias Panne of Lalganj Bazar, and Akhilesh Srivastava of Ramkola. SP (Pratapgarh) Dr Anil Kumar told TOI that the police have announced a Rs 25,000 cash reward each on six wanted criminals, including the block chief of Baba Belkharnath Dham, in connection with the Patti tehsil registry office firing case that left two persons injured. He added, "Two out of six wanted criminals were arrested, and five police teams are carrying out raids to catch other four absconders." The police are looking for block chief of Baba Belkharnath Dham, identified as Sushil Singh, who was prime accused in incident. The police have also started the procedure to cancel the arms licence of Sushil Singh regarding incident. tnn

Prayagraj: A day after firing at Patti registry office left two persons injured, the Pratapgarh police on Tuesday announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 each on the arrest of six wanted criminals, including the block chief of Baba Belkharnath Dham. The six accused were identified as Sushil Singh of Ramkola (block chief of Baba Belkharnath Dham), Santosh Singh of Bibipur, Om Singh of Sarsatpur, Ajay Singh alias Takku of Charriya, Shivam Pandey and his brother Bipin Pandey of Aurain (Patti). They were booked under sections 3(5), 191(2), 191(3), 190, 115(2), 352, 351(3) and 109 (1) of BNS and section 7 of the CLA Act. The incident took place inside the Patti Tehsil campus on Monday afternoon when Sushil Singh, a block chief and close aide of a former minister, allegedly opened fire at around 1pm, injuring Arun Mishra and Aditya Mishra of Chanda police station area in neighboring Sultanpur district. The entire incident was captured on CCTV. SP (Pratapgarh) Anil Kumar told TOI that the police are compiling evidence, including the CCTV footage, to tighten the noose around the accused, and police teams have been dispatched for their arrest. The police said Sushil Singh has four criminal cases registered against him at the Patti police station. Besides, other criminals Santosh Singh, Om Singh, Ajay Singh and Bipin Pandey had 3, 5, 3 and 2 criminal cases pending against them, respectively.
