(File) In another major by billionaire Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio– India's largest telecom provider, the company has partnered with quick commerce giant Instamart to deliver its budget-friendly Jio Phones to customers within 10 minutes. According to details, the Swiggy-owned quick commerce platform is now offering 10-minute doorstep delivery of Jio's pocket-friendly phones such as the JioBharat V4 and JioPhone Prima 2, in as many as 95 cities across the country. How much do Jio Phones cost? The JioBharat V4, is a feature phone with 4G connectivity, and is equipped with JioPay for making UPI payments. The phone is priced at Rs 799, and targets users who desire basic digital connectivity. It is powered by 1000 mAh battery, and has HD voice calling along with Jio's integrated live TV service with over 455 channels. In contrast, the JioPhone Prima 2 is a hybrid feature phone running on a Snapdragon processor with 512MB RAM and a 2000 mAh battery. The Prima 2, which costs Rs 2799, offers all the features of a smartphone, such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as access to apps like YouTube, Facebook, Google Voice Assistant, and JioTV. It also supports 23 Indian languages. Notably, earlier this year, Instamart started the 10-minute doorstep delivery of high-end smartphones like iPhone 16e and Samsung Galaxy M35. How Instamart-Jio partnership challenges other quick commerce players? The Instamart-Jio partnership is a major challenge for other quick commerce majors like Zepto and market leader Blinkit, primarily because of the subscriber base and popularity of Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio, which is the country's largest telecom services provider.

Instamart appoints Ankit Jain as Senior VP of Operations

Swiggy-owned quick commerce platform Instamart on Friday announced the appointment of Ankit Jain as Senior Vice President - Operations, including supply chain management, dark store operations, delivery experience and network expansion. Ankit recently served as the Senior Vice President, Head of Grocery and Large Supply Chain as well as Ekart Design at Flipkart. The company's operations have seen strong momentum over the past few months -- enabling its presence in more than 120 cities, expanding into new categories and scaling our infrastructure with the record addition of more than 300 dark stores and mega pods last quarter, according to a senior company official. "Ankit's deep, hands-on experience across e-commerce, retail, and FMCG will be a strong force in further strengthening our operations, leading the way in delivery speed, availability, and assortment for our consumers, Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha said. Prior to Flipkart, Ankit spent over 14 years at Unilever, holding various roles such as General Manager of Demand Planning and Director of Logistics and Warehousing, managing end-to-end supply chain operations across multiple geographies. Ankit holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. Earlier this week, Instamart dropped parent Swiggy from its name, in a strategic move aimed at carving a standalone brand identity.
