Two people arrested after two men injured in Sydney Mines shooting
Two men are in custody after two other men were injured in a shooting in Sydney Mines, N.S., Tuesday night.
Cape Breton Regional Police received a report around 11:30 p.m. that two men in a vehicle on Cook Street had been struck by a bullet fired from another vehicle.
The victims identified the suspects and their vehicle, which police found on Ocean Street. Police say the vehicle was on fire when they found it.
Members of the Emergency Response Team and a K9 unit tracked the two suspects to a trailer at a nearby home on Ocean Street, where they were arrested.
The two victims were taken to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to their legs.
The Sydney Mines Volunteer Fire Department attended the scene and extinguished the fire at the vehicle, which police seized.
Police say the four people involved in the shooting are all known to one another and investigators are treating it as an isolated incident.
Police say charges are pending against the two men in custody.
