INVINCIBLE Renewed for Season 5 at Prime Video
Reaching season five is a truly heroic feat for a TV series in our day and age. And so, we have to congratulate Invincible for its season five renewal on Prime Video. It's no true surprise that Invincible will see its fifth season—after all, season three of Invincible is Prime Video's most-watched Animation season of all time, and the biggest returning season of all time across all Prime Video's Adult Animation Originals. Still, Invincible season four hasn't even aired yet, and the show has already secured its season five renewal. That truly does make it Invincible. Invincible, of course, is based on an award-winning comic book series by Robert Kirkman. It follows the adventures and misadventures of Mark Grayson, who must navigate both his teenage status and his heroic status, as he strives to become Earth's greatest defender. Invincible is a funny, dark, bloody, and irreverent series. It really is an animated superhero show like no other. And we recommend it as a double feature with The Boys. Invincible stars an incredible line-up of talent, which includees: Steven Yeun, Sandra Oh, and J.K. Simmons, Invincible's voice cast also includes Seth Rogen, Walton Goggins, Gillian Jacobs, Jason Mantzoukas, Zazie Beetz, Grey DeLisle, Zachary Quinto, Chris Diamantopoulos, Ross Marquand, Khary Payton, Andrew Rannells, Kevin Michael Richardson, Ben Schwartz, Clancy Brown, Jay Pharoah, Mark Hamill, and Melise Jow. We're sure these folks and more will return for season five of Invincible. The series is produced by Skybound Entertainment's animation studio Skybound Animation. 'The Boys' reveals 'Supernatural' new details about season 5 — here's what's coming
(Image credit: Courtesy Amazon Studios) "The Boys" season 5 is still probably about a year away. But we now know at least one scene to expect from the show's final season. Fans of the show "Supernatural" know that season 5 of "The Boys" has a greater purpose than just ending the saga of Butcher vs. Homelander. It is also a long-awaited on-screen reunion for the former show's three big stars: Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins. A post shared by THE BOYS (@theboystv) A photo posted by on In an interview with TV Insider, "The Boys" show creator Eric Kripke revealed that yes, not only will all three be in the show this season — which had already been confirmed in an Instagram post (see above) — but that the three are guaranteed to share the screen together. At least once. You may like 'It's a blast. We already shot it," revealed Kripke. 'I will confirm that Jared, Jensen, and Misha are all in the same frame together, and in the same storyline, and interacting with each other.' For "Supernatural" fans, that has to be a huge relief. Of course, it was almost a certainty that Kripke, who created the long-running CW show starring Ackles, Padalecki and Collins, would ensure the reunion was done right. (Image credit: Prime Video) 'Having the five of us back together on set, filming, was just so fun and like a high school reunion," added former "Supernatural" director Phil Sgriccia, who will be directing the season 5 premiere: "Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite." "You immediately fall into all your old patterns.' Kripke also shared Sgriccia's warm feelings about the backdoor "Supernatural" reunion. 'It was really heartwarming and nice to like immediately be brought back to these guys that I love and haven't had them all together, at least in a professional capacity, in years and years," he chimed in. "So it was really, really meaningful.' Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. As for what will happen when the trio is on screen together? We know Ackles is reprising his role as Soldier Boy from previous seasons, but Padalecki and Collins's roles are still under wraps. View this post on Instagram A post shared by THE BOYS (@theboystv) Details on Padalecki and Collins' Boys roles are being kept under wraps at the moment, though the former famously expounded on what he would like to do, ideally clothed, on the twisted comic book adaptation. Supernatural creator and The Boys showrunner Eric Kripke previously called Padalecki 'the Pokémon I haven't collected yet,' having already enlisted Supernatural vets Ackles, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Jim Beaver, Rob Benedict and Christian Keyes to play roles; additionally, Alexander Calvert recurred on the spinoff Gen V. Bringing Padalecki onto The Boys is a matter of 'finding the right role… even if it's just for a guest shot,' Kripke told TVLine. Just last spring, Kripke called Padalecki following the cancellation of The CW series Walker. 'He's like, 'Hey, dude, a) so sorry about Walker. I know how much you loved it and great show. Would you be interested in coming to play up in Toronto [where The Boys shoots]?'' Padalecki recalled for TVLine. 'I was like, 'Absolutely. Just let me know if I have to get naked or not because I gotta start working out now.'' '[Eric] and I have talked about what it could look like,' Padalecki shared, adding that he was game to 'go play in the playground [of] the guy who created Sam Winchester. I've had good times in his playground, so I'm happy to do it again.' As for what kind of character he'd like to portray, Padalecki had his sights set on a villainous supe, with 'the power of wearing clothes,' he said with a laugh. 'No, I don't know…. I just want [Eric] and his f–ked-up mind to think of something cool for me to come and do, and it's going to be better than anything I could have dreamed up. The way his brain works is wildly interesting and outside of the box… So I'll just go with what he creates.'The Boys: Everything We Know About the Final Season View List Best of TVLine Stars Who Almost Played Other TV Roles — on Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Lost, Gilmore Girls, Friends and Other Shows TV Stars Almost Cast in Other Roles Fall TV Preview: Who's In?
