Tributes have poured in for the entertainer and personality after news of his death emerged. He was set to perform at the 275ParkBK venue in Brooklyn, New York, on July 16. DeJon's death was announced by the video director Ralph McDaniels. In his final Instagram video, he encouraged fans to buy tickets. The roast would've seen stars such as Kenny Woo, Brooklyn Mike, K. Smith and Stephanie Kay take to the stage. DeJon's final post has been inundated with messages of condolence. "I have no words," comedian Ayanna Dookie said. "Thank you for all the stage time and for putting so many of us on." "Damn," former boxing champion Shannon Briggs wrote. "So sad to hear this. Rest easy champ." Standup comedian Vishnu Vaka described DeJon as one of the "kindest people" on the comedy scene. "Part of my upbringing. Went to a lot of his shows. Great guy," another fan posted on social media. Fans noted how the star's birthday was approaching. More to follow... Emma Izzard, 53, was rushed to hospital on November 19 last year - after she had started to vomit blood - and died the following day after going into cardiac arrest while undergoing a gastroscopy. An inquest into her death - held at Norfolk Coroner's Court this week - also heard how the 53-year-old died after struggling with alcoholism. Emma and Kym lived together in Luton, Bedfordshire, and were hoping to start a dream life in Norfolk when they signed up to the show. Aided by Escape to the Country host Ginny Buckley, the pair set out to try to find their perfect home, having picked Norfolk for its "clean air" and "slower place of life". At the inquest into Emma's death this week, Kym told the hearing how her former partner's alcohol consumption rose in July 2022 after her mum fell ill. The Eastern Daily Press reported that Kim also told the inquest Emma was fearful she was going to lose her mum. She added: "After six months of secret drinking, she wanted to stop but couldn't get the help required quickly enough and began drinking again." Advertisement Despite undergoing several stints in rehab, relapses caused her drinking "to become heavier". Kym continued: "Emma did not want to drink but it had taken a strong hold of her." Former TOTP presenter, 52, admits 'I need to stop drinking' after cancer battle Emma was rushed to Norfolk and Norwich Hospital by ambulance on November 19, 2024, after she had begun to vomit blood. Tragically, Emma died after going into cardiac arrest while undergoing a gastroscopy in the operating theatre. Advertisement At the inquest, her cause of death was given as an oesophageal and variceal bleed, with alcohol-related liver disease. The hearing was also told that Emma's dad - who died when she was just a teenager - had struggled with alcoholism himself. Coroner Johanna Thompson concluded that Emma's death was alcohol related. She said the 53-year-old had a "history of excess alcohol consumption", adding she had been suffering from alcohol-related liver disease. Advertisement The coroner said Emma presented with symptoms of acute alcohol withdrawl at the hospital, stating that the treatment undertaken sadly could not have saved her life.

Jon Don Baker was best known for playing a top CIA agent alongside Pierce Brosnan in two blockbuster Bond films. 1 Joe Don Baker has passed away at the age of 89 Credit: Getty A touching statement from his family read: "His intellectual curiosity made him a voracious reader, inspiring a great love of nature and animals, particularly cats. "Throughout his life, Joe Don touched many lives with his warmth and compassion, leaving an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him." The actor first played a Bond villain in 1987 flick The Living Daylights. He took on the role of Brad Whitaker, who was a crazed arms dealer. After impressing on screen, Baker was asked to return to the franchise in 1995's GoldenEye. The Pierce Brosnan thriller saw Baker play a good guy this time around as he was CIA agent Jack Wade. In 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies he returned to the role in his third Bond flick. The family statement ended with them praising the actor for creating so many memories throughout his life. It added: "As we say goodbye to Joe Don, we hold onto the memories and the love he shared with us. "Though he may no longer be with us in body, his spirit will always remain, a guiding light in the lives he touched. "Rest in peace, Joe Don. You will be dearly missed but never forgotten." He is survived by relatives in his native Groesbeck, Texas. He never had any children but was married to Maria Dolores Rivero-Torres from 1969 to 1980. Before finding Bond fame in the late 80s, Baker starred in BBC show Edge Of Darkness in 1985 which earned him a BAFTA nomination. More to follow...
