Kneecap's Glasgow Hydro gig sells out as rap trio headline their biggest Scottish show yet
In a jibe to First Minister John Swinney, the band said "A very special thank you to our Head of PR in Scotland Mr John Swinney... best in the business". Kneecap is set to make a return to Glasgow this winter as part of their "biggest run of shows ever" with tickets selling out shortly after going on sale. The Belfast based rap trio - Mo Chara, Móglaí Bap, and DJ Próvaí - will perform 14 shows across Scotland, England and Wales later this year. The tour includes a headline performances at Glasgow's OVO Hydro on November 30, 2025, marking the groups biggest show in Glasgow to date. Originally slated to play 11 shows, the group extended the tour by adding three additional dates in Leeds, Sheffield, and Manchester after pre-sale tickets sold out almost immediately due to overwhelming demand. And now it appears the gig has sold out. Taking to Instagram, Kneecap's official account wrote: "Glasgow SOLD OUT in a few hours. 13,000 Scottish F****** comrades... let's go!" In a jibe to First Minister John Swinney, they added: "A very special thank you to our Head of PR in Scotland Mr John Swinney... best in the business". Swinney played down his beef with Kneecap after he was called out by the Irish rappers at a gig in Glasgow earlier this month. The SNP leader previously warned some of the group's political sloganeering was "beyond the pale". The group hit back during their O2 Academy show on July 8, with Liam Óg Ó hAnnaidh, who performs under the name Mo Chara asking the crowd: " What's your First Minister's name?" "They stopped us playing TRNSMT but they can't stop us playing Glasgow." Taking to Instagram to initially announce the tour, Kneecap's official account wrote: "Here we go. We're back in November across Scotland, England and Wales to play our biggest run of shows ever. "The Prime Minister himself cant stop could stop sending bombs to Israel but that's another story..." Alongside their tour poster - which shows the trio in a bright green car emblazoned with the phrase "Irish Independence Traders" - the band also made a nod to their political stance. The car's number plate reads "26+6=1," a well-known slogan advocating for a united Ireland, referring to the 26 counties of the Republic of Ireland and the 6 counties of Northern Ireland coming together as one. Their winter tour follows controversy earlier this year when Kneecap were originally headlining the King Tut's stage at TRNSMT 2025 but were dropped from the line-up in May after Police Scotland raised public safety concerns. At the time, a Police Scotland spokesperson stated: "Any decision on the line-up at TRNSMT is for the organisers, and there was no prior consultation with Police Scotland before acts were booked. "Officers have highlighted that the potential reaction of such a large audience to this band would require a significant policing operation in order to support the delivery of a safe event. "We have also passed on information from the public around safety concerns to allow organisers to make an informed decision on the running of the festival." Following their removal, Kneecap instead played a sold-out show at Glasgow's O2 Academy on Tuesday, July 8 - the week of the festival - insisting they wouldn't let fans down. Over 2,500 tickets were snapped up in just 80 seconds. Now, the trio is scaling up, preparing for their biggest Scottish show yet at the 14,000-capacity OVO Hydro.

Kneecap to play Glasgow's OVO Hydro this November
The high-energy group will take to the stage at one of Scotland's most iconic venues later this year, marking their biggest Glasgow show to date. Presale tickets go live tomorrow, Tuesday, July 16, at 10am, via the OVO Live presale, with general sale following on Thursday, July 18, at 10am. Ticket prices are expected to range from £53.60 to £64.95. A spokesperson for Police Scotland said at the time: "Any decision on the line-up at TRNSMT is for the organisers, and there was no prior consultation with Police Scotland before acts were booked. The event was attended by supporters, including members of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, who gathered outside the venue waving flags. Now, Kneecap are upping the capacity, taking their performance to the 14,000-capacity OVO Hydro. The group shared their announcement on their Instagram, with the caption: "Here we go. "We're back in November across Scotland, England and Wales to play our biggest run of shows ever. "Artist pre-sale tomorrow 10am, general sale Friday 10am. "All of ye can get a pre-sale link for tomorrow at 10am ahead of the masses by signing up to our mailer or WhatsApp channel (links in bio)." The comments were quickly flooded with eager fans, Glasgow rapper Big Bemz was seen commenting: "Hydro? Yeah we will be there!" Another fan added: "Glasgow upgrade to the Hydro, no stopping yous now yasss." A third wrote: "Hydro lets gooooo."

Kerr Mercer A rising star, Glasgow singer-songwriter Kerr Mercer made his TRNSMT debut on the King Tut's stage on Sunday. His next performance in Scotland is supporting Tom Jones during Discovery Festival in Dundee on Sunday, July 27. Fourth Daughter Appearing on the BBC Introducing stage during this year's festival, Fourth Daughter - whose real name is Emily Atkinson - will perform at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival on Thursday, July 31. KuleeAngee The project of Keshav Kanabar and Duncan Grant, who are from Glasgow and Edinburgh respectively, KuleeAngee played the BBC Introducing stage at TRNMST on Sunday. Their other Scottish shows this year include during the Edinburgh Fringe, where they will perform at La Belle Angele on Friday, August 15 as part of Wide Days' Made in Scotland programme. Kyle Falconer Best known as the frontman of The View, Kyle Falconer played a solo set at TRNSMT on Sunday. He has a few shows lined up around Scotland in 2025, including at the Music & Food Festival in Arbroath on Saturday, August 23. Aaron Rowe Having recently opened for Ed Sheeran's arena tour, singer-songwriter Aaron Rowe performed on the BBC Introducing stage during TRNSMT's final day. He won't be headlining any gigs of his own anytime soon, as he will be joining Lewis Capaldi during his upcoming UK tour. Nina Nesbitt Scottish singer and songwriter Nina Nesbitt played the King Tut's Stage at TRNSMT on Sunday, with her next Scottish gig part of Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls Lost Evenings VIII. Running from September 25-28, Nesbitt will perform at the O2 Academy in Edinburgh on Friday, September 26. Having already played several shows in Scotland earlier this year, including their King Tut's stage slot at TRNSMT, the band will next perform in Scotland for their album launch show at The Caves in Edinburgh on Monday, September 29. Alex Spencer Supporting Corella on tour, Alex Spencer will follow up his Saturday TRNSMT slot with a show at Glasgow's Garage on Wednesday, October 1. TRNSMT festival: Glasgow Green clean-up operation underway
The festival, which began at 12pm on Friday, 11 July, came to a close last night, Saturday, 13 July. TRNSMT 2025 concluded after a spectacular weekend featuring standout performances from some of the biggest names in music. READ MORE: Huge TRNSMT act visits Gorbals pub and chats to staff Festival-goers enjoyed sets from artists including 50 Cent, Fontaines D.C., and Biffy Clyro. Snow Patrol delivered a show-stopping performance to close the event on the Main Stage, while rising star JADE also impressed the crowds. Revellers were treated to an unusually sunny spell in Glasgow, with temperatures reaching as high as 30°C over the weekend. TRNSMT star praised Glasgow's Celtic FC after sweet gift
Jazzy was gifted the new Hoops jersey for the season ahead by the club. In an Instagram post, the 28-year-old dance-pop singer-songwriter showed off her brand-new footie top. Sharing an image, the talented star looked proud and chuffed as she donned the Celtic top. "Shoutout to Celtic FC, what a gesture. Hail Hail."
