And Just Like That… Producers Address Fans' Confusion Over Latest Character Death — Was It Really a Mistake?

Did And Just Like That… accidentally kill off the same character twice? That's what fans were wondering after the Max comedy's July 3 episode, in which Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker) lost her 90-year-old father to a stroke. It was an emotional hour, as Lisa struggled through a difficult eulogy at the Pippin-themed funeral — but it was also a familiar one, as this apparently isn't the first time Lisa has had to say goodbye to her father. During the first season of And Just Like That…, when the characters were grieving the loss of Big (Chris Noth), Lisa made an off-handed comment to Charlotte (Kristin Davis) about how she was 'exactly the same way when my father died last year,' implying that he was already dead when the show started. So, what's the deal here? According to the show's production team, which spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, the 'father' Lisa referenced back in Season 1 was apparently her father-in-law, not her own biological father. And just like that, the mystery is solved. Let's talk: Did you also notice the double mention of Lisa's dead father? And are you satisfied with the explanation that she originally lost her father-in-law, or is this just a convenient excuse for an obvious mistake? ITV announces hit drama is ending after 11 years on TV – and filming has already started on final series

ITV has confirmed that one of its most popular TV drama's is to end after 11 years on screens. Fans of Grantchester look set to be bitterly disappointed as the broadcaster confirmed the show will be over with its upcoming eleventh and final series. 4 4 Filming for the final episodes has already kicked off with an air date for its final ever run set to be announced in due course. Former Hollyoaks actor Rishi Nair will return as handsome vicar Alphy Kottaram for the final series. Rishi will be joined by Robson Greene who is back as Geordie alongside Tessa Peake-Jones as Mrs. C, Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating and Oliver Dimsdale as Daniel Marlowe. Current lead star Rishi joined the show in 2024 for its ninth series and will have appeared in three series total before it draws to a conclusion. He replaced Tom Brittney in the role who played the show's vicar for four years. Tom himself took over from actor James Norton who was one of the show's first stars. Confirming the end of the much-loved show, the series' creator and writer, Daisy Coulam, said: 'At its heart, Grantchester is a show about the power of friendship and love. "We've been so lucky over the last 11 series to experience that on and off screen. "For over a decade now - cast and crew (many who've been there since the beginning) have met each Summer to film. And it's been an absolute joy. Thank you to James Runcie for entrusting us with his characters. "Thank you to the lovely people of real Grantchester. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of the show in any way - big or small. "I'll miss you terribly.' Speaking about his time on the programme and it's impending exit, actor Rishi said: 'It's been the greatest honour to step into the world of Grantchester and be part of a show with so much heart. "Over two seasons—and now as we begin filming our third—I've had the privilege of telling stories that mean so much to so many, and I'm deeply thankful for that. "As we begin filming this final chapter, I do so with a full heart and endless gratitude—for the memories, the friendships, and the incredible journey we've shared. "To the entire cast and crew—thank you for your unwavering support, love, and warmth that you all bring onto set every day. "Working alongside you all, and more importantly getting to know you, has been a true privilege and joy.' Grantchester first launched on ITV in 2014. The series was initially based on The Grantchester Mysteries, a series of short stories written by James Runcie. The show's ratings have been in steady decline since 2014 with the first series averaging just under seven million viewers. The most recent series claimed just half of that with 3.2million people on average tuning in each week. 4 4

Star of legendary BBC period drama looks unrecognisable 31 years on from series' final episode after Hollywood makeover

A star of legendary BBC period drama The House Of Eliott looks unrecognisable 31 years from the series' final episode after a Hollywood makeover. Actress Louise Lombard, 54, played Evangeline Eliott between 1991 and 1994 in the popular series. The House Of Eliott followed the lives of two sisters, Beatrice (Stella Gonet) and Evangeline Eliott, trying to set up a dress-making business while in London in the 20s. The Beeb aired 34 episodes over three series while it was on our screens. During the show, Louise had a very short, dark, brunette hair and usually rocked a red lip. But now, over 30 years on since the programme has been on our screens, Louise now has curled blonde locks and a golden tan. House Of Eliott isn't the only show that Louise has starred in. After that, she landed roles in the likes of Bodyguards, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, The Mentalist, Kiss of Death and The Fix. Her last role on telly was back in 2019 when she played Alice Merriman in Susan Hill's Ghost Story. Louise has also starred in a number of movies. Some include Tale of the Mummy, My Kingdom, Countdown and the After franchise. Most recently, she took on the role of Ruth Sherman Tolman in Oppenheimer. The star is currently thriving in her personal life. Louise recently tied the knot with her husband Tom Poleman. Taking to Instagram to share the news with fans, she posted a stunning snap from their big day and wrote: 'NYC 05-07-25.' More recently, the couple travelled to Paris to enjoy a romantic holiday together. The loved-up pair posed in front of the Eiffel Tower and also hung up their own padlock on the Love Lock Bridge. She captioned the post on Instagram: 'City of Love.' Tom first appeared on Louise's Instagram back in 2024. Louise was previously married to Jon Stephen. She also previously dated Alessandro Sol. The actress is also a proud mum to two children. It comes after an iconic EastEnders star looks unrecognisable four decades on from her soap debut. Mary 'the Punk' Smith, played by Linda Davidson, featured in the serial drama's original cast when it first aired back in 1985. She was a single mother to her daughter Annie and viewers saw the complicated character struggle to raise her child and earn money all while sporting her distinctive style. From becoming a prostitute to various failed romances, Mary had several controversial storylines before she left the show in 1988.
