Matlock Duo Sing Us a Li'l Something, Rave That ‘Everyone' Now Wants to Appear on the CBS Hit — WATCH
Matlock co-stars Skye P. Marshall and Jason Ritter make a bit of beautiful music together at the top of the TVLine red carpet video above. After harmonizing a few bars and then amazingly speaking in totally perfect unison, the on-screen exes got to revisiting some of the freshman CBS hit's biggest twists. 'There were no other actors, it was just me and Kathy Bates in the room,' the actress tells TVLine West Coast Bureau Chief Dave Nemetz in the video above. 'I just had to breathe outside of that [office] door, and every time I walked in was very much, 'Don't try to nail it, just be honest. Just listen to what she's saying and respond wholeheartedly.'' As Marshall notes, 'It's the not acting, that's what makes great performances.' Matlock Boss Talks Finale's Big Reveal, If [Spoiler] Will Be Back for Season 2 View List Ritter then steps up to survey Julian's 'incredibly complicated relationship' with his father, Senior, who 1) passed Julian over for a promotion to partner 2) years after tasking him with stealing a legal document that was damning for Welbrexa, Jacobson Moore's Big Pharma client. 'As much as Senior drives him crazy, as much as he's been hurt by Senior, I think there's a part of [Julian] that still would love Senior to say, 'I'm proud of you, son,' one time,' Ritter posits. But will that longing for approval get in the way of Julian possibly allying with Olympia and Matty to pin the Welbrexa cover-up on Senior in Season 2? 'It's going to be fascinating seeing what happens next season,' Ritter ventures. 'I can't wait to see what the writers come up with.' To hear Marshall tell it, scores of other actors also would love to wield the Matlock writers' words, coming off the not-a-reboot's success as the TV season's most-watched new program. Whereas everyone, when the show was first announced in spring 2024, mocked the need for a 'reboot' of the late-1980s Andy Griffith courtroom drama, 'Now everyone's like, 'Can I please get on Matlock?!' says Marshall. 'Matlock means something completely different now, in such a short time,' she attests. Showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman 'flipped' the script on everyone, while executive producer Eric Christian Olsen, who had rights to Matlock and brought them to Urman, 'hit a lottery,' Marshall marvels. 'He built a universe for us and brought all of us together. I feel like we're the Avengers!' Want scoop on , or for any other TV show? Lisa Kudrow's The Comeback Returning to HBO for Third and Final Season
Lisa Kudrow and Michael Patrick King are reviving their acclaimed satire The Comeback for a third and final run… and we definitely need to see that! The series — which enters production this summer and returns to HBO/HBO Max in 2026 — originally hit screens in 2005. An eight-episode Season 2 followed nearly 10 years later in 2014. The show tells the story of a B-list sitcom star who's so desperate to revive her career that she agrees to star in a reality television show called The Comeback. 'Cameras follow her every move as she angles to keep her head above the Hollywood fray, even as she's woefully out of touch with modern show business,' reads the official description. More from TVLine Save the Dates: Billy Joel's HBO Docu, Judge Judy's New Show and More Ransom Canyon Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix Bet Renewed for Season 2 at Netflix 'Valerie Cherish has found her way back to the current television landscape,' Kudrow and King said in a joint statement Friday. 'Neither of us are surprised she did.' 'No matter what the industry throws at her, Valerie Cherish is a survivor,' executive vice president, HBO & Max Comedy Programming Amy Gravitt said. 'On the 20th Anniversary of her debut, Michael Patrick King and Lisa Kudrow have brilliantly scripted her return to HBO.' Watch Valerie announce her new show below: Kudrow and King recently commented on a then-potential Season 3 in a Variety Q&A, noting that Valerie is so endlessly entertaining because her quest for fame and respect leaves her endlessly frustrated. 'It's really about whether we can find an idea worth going beyond one joke,' King said. 'She'll show up at one of those lunches, and I'm laughing as hard as I did 20 years ago. It's the same vibration. The thing about Valerie — the reason why, if we find an arena, it's going to be great — is that Valerie will never get everything she wants. It's thrilling when you have somebody who's practically a Greek character, going through the underworld to get the golden apple and coming back up like, 'Well, I got it!'' 75+ Cancelled TV Shows That Came Back! View List Aside from Kudrow, returning for the final run as regulars are Dan Bucatinsky (Scandal), Laura Silverman (The Sarah Silverman Program) and Damian Young (Ozark). (Robert Michael Morris, who played Mickey, died in 2017.) The Comeback was created by King and Kudrow, who executive-produce alongside John Melfi and Bucatinsky. Thoughts on the news? What You Need to Know About the Jensen Ackles Action Series, Countdown
Monday night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jensen Ackles made his Tonight Show debut to promote his new action-packed series, Countdown. During his appearance, he assured everybody that the show is a bit of a throwback. His new series is designed to give you the same nostalgic feel of movies and TV shows like Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, and The A-Team. Here's what you need to know about the Days of Our Lives alum's Prime Video thriller. Here's what you need to know about Prime Video's Countdown: When an officer with the Department of Homeland Security is murdered in broad daylight, LAPD detective Mark Meachum, portrayed by Ackles, is recruited to a secret task force, alongside undercover agents from all branches of law enforcement, to investigate. But the hunt for the killer soon uncovers a plot far more sinister than anyone could have imagined, kicking off a race against time to save a city of millions. Countdown starts streaming on Prime Video on Wednesday, June 25, when the first three episodes are released. One episode drops each subsequent week, with the finale streaming on Wednesday, September 3. So there will be 13 episodes in total. Jensen Ackles (The Boys, Supernatural), Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy, Euphoria), and Jessica Camacho (The Flash, Watchmen). The series also stars Violett Beane (Death and Other Details), Elliot Knight (The Boys), and Uli Latukefu (Young Rock). Right off the bat, in episode one, look out for a pretty big cameo. And, later in the season, DAYS star Mary Beth Evans is set to make an appearance, according to TV Line. She will play the mother of one of the major characters. TV Line describes Countdown as 24 meets Graceland, which is a fair assessment. On one hand, the energy is urgent, the stakes are high, and the action is intense and pulse-pounding, much like the late, great Fox drama 24. If the high-octane action scenes filmed in Los Angeles don't get you (don't worry, they will), then there's the team aspect that made USA Network's Graceland such a fun show. Countdown's Eric Dane-led task force brings a group of misfits, rebels, and insanely competent individuals together. Thankfully, the chemistry is there from the beginning, even though it's more of a slow build. What we're always afraid of with ensemble casts is that one or more characters will get the short end of the drama stick. But here, you may have to be patient, but every individual is going through something, and their stories are told. This includes Ackles's character, Mark Meachum, an LAPD detective, who faces a lot of challenges that could and should make doing his job difficult. Yet he does it anyway. In the initial trailer for Countdown, Meachum states a mantra. of sorts, 'If I'm going out, I'm going out saving something.' He has a lot going on, but none of that is going to get in the way of him bringing down the bad guys. Take a look at images from the series as well as the recent red carpet premiere and after-party, Courtesy of Prime Video. Sneak Peek Jensen Ackles on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon
