Falaq Naaz Takes A Dig At Khushi Mukherjee's Bold Outfits: ‘This Is Not Fashion'
Falaq Naaz stated that Uorfi Javed has carved out a niche for herself with headline-worthy and creative outfits and one shouldn't compare creativity with nudity.
Television actress Khushi Mukherjee has been hogging headlines recently, and not for her acting projects, but for her bold fashion choices. The social media personality has sparked outrage for making public appearances in extremely revealing outfits that have gone viral across platforms. While the internet remains divided over her clothing, with many calling her fashion 'vulgar,' actress Falaq Naaz has been slamming her on the matter. Known for her role in Sasural Simar Ka, the actress earlier expressed her frustration with the government's double standards when it comes to public decency and civic penalties.
This time, Falaq criticised Khushi for comparing herself with fashion influencer Uorfi Javed. She stated that Uorfi has carved out a niche for herself with headline-worthy and creative outfits, and one shouldn't compare creativity with nudity.
She penned, 'Uorfi was creative. Wo plastic chamach se dress banati thi. Tyre se dress banati thi. Like you see in this picture, pizza se dress bana liya…… Wo ek spot rakhti thi spotting ke liye jahan media jaati thi and use cover karti thi… Uorfi ko chalte phirte kisne nahi kaha ki chaddi pehenao isko. (Uorfi was creative. She used to make dresses from plastic spoons. She used to make dresses from tyres. Like you see in this picture, she made a dress from pizza… She used to keep a spot where the media used to go and cover it… No one told Uorfi to make her wear an undergarment.)"
Reacting to the backlash, the Splitsvilla fame has now taken to her social media and revealed that her looks are inspired by Hollywood celebrities like Paris Hilton, Jennifer Lopez, model Irina Shayk, and other runway models. In a lengthy note, she made it clear that she is 'not apologetic' for her outfits, as she likes to make daring decisions.
Her post read, 'I wanted to remain SILENT until now!! But I saw that all the fingers were being pointed at me!! Yes, I should disregard that many of you have been supportive too, but… I would see that it's so easy to just abuse someone on social media, troll them, and come into the limelight. For people who have been asking me or asking everywhere else, is it vulgarity or fashion? n concluding that this is in no way any fashion statement. Well, let me tell you that I am someone who is bold and courageous, and I like to take daring decisions!"
'Yes, fashion sometimes fails, sometimes succeeds, but I'm not apologetic for wearing what I liked!! All my dresses, as you all can see, are inspired by Hollywood actresses/influencers or even runway models!! Yes, I live in a democratic country. It is not ruled by the Taliban that there should be a ban on the clothes that I wear!" she concluded.

Falaq Naaz made her acting debut with a cameo role in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. In 2011, she stepped in to play the role of Lakshmi and Sita in Devon Ke Dev…Mahadev. But it was her stint as Jhanvi Bharadwaj in Sasural Simar Ka from 2013 to 2017 that shot her to fame. The actress also showcased her talent in television shows like Pandya Store, Laal Ishq, Roop – Mard Ka Naya Swaroop, and Vish Ya Amrit: Sitara, among others.
