Among the most emotional sequences in the 2016 film was the wedding scene featuring Sushant Singh Rajput as Dhoni and Kiara Advani as Sakshi.
What many may not know is that the actors wore replicas of the actual outfits worn by MS Dhoni and Sakshi at their real wedding in 2010.
The Wedding Look That Captured Reality
In the biopic, Kiara donned a lehenga that mirrored Sakshi's original bridal outfit which is a red and green-toned lehenga intricately embellished with butti work and traditional zardosi embroidery.
She completed the look with real gold jewelry, heavily layered necklaces, and a maang teeka, just like Sakshi did on her wedding day.
Sushant's look as Dhoni was equally detailed. He wore a blue kurta with dark blue pants, topped with a richly embroidered jacket. The ensemble was completed with an orange turban, replicating Dhoni's elegant and understated royal look from the 2010 wedding.
This cinematic attention to authenticity is now being fondly remembered by fans, especially as Dhoni and Sakshi celebrate their wedding anniversary.
A Love Story That Stood the Test of Time

MS Dhoni and Sakshi's story began in Ranchi, where their fathers worked for the same company.
Although they studied in the same school, life took them in different directions. However, fate brought them back together in Kolkata in 2007. At the time, Sakshi was interning at Taj Bengal and Dhoni was staying there with Team India. A mutual friend reintroduced them—and the rest, as they say, is history.
The couple married in July 2010 in a private ceremony. Their daughter Ziva was born in 2015, completing their beautiful family.
