ESPN airs fake Dak Prescott-George Pickens Cowboys video in massive blunder
If only the Worldwide Leader spent as much time combing through Cowboys fan tweets as it did discussing America's Team. ESPN committed a major blunder Tuesday during a 'First Take' segment centered on the Cowboys, with the show airing what they believed to be social media footage of quarterback Dak Prescott throwing a pass to newly acquired receiver George Pickens at training camp. The problem is, the video — which was shared by the @FergSZN X account Monday — was a clip of Dallas' training camp in 2023, when Prescott connected with then-Cowboys wideout Brandin Cooks. 4 ESPN aired a two-year-old video on Tuesday of Brandin Cooks catching a touchdown at training camp while thinking it was now-Cowboy George Pickens. ESPN The panel, which featured prominent NFL insider Adam Schefter, went about business as usual, while social media users called out the glaring error. 'All ESPN had to do was read the comments,' a user commented. 4 The show had no clue of its mistake and continued on with the segment. ESPN In the video posted by @FergSZN, Cooks was seen wearing a No. 3 jersey, the same number Pickens will don in his first season with the team. Though that's an honest mistake, within X's features, it can be determined that the video was a repost. The original footage was shared in July 2023 by Cowboys insider Kyle Youmans, who provided context on Prescott's pass to Cooks. 4 Brandin Cooks wore No. 3 in his Cowboys tenure, which will now be worn by George Pickens. AP 'It's actually mind blowing how many people fell for this,' @FergSZN wrote shortly after their initial post. ESPN, widely regarded as conductors of the Cowboys' hype train, soon recognized the error of its ways and issued an apology. 'Earlier, we showed video that we identified as George Pickens at Cowboys training camp — it was not George. So, we apologize on that mistake,' host Molly Qerim said later Tuesday. 4 George Pickens is entering his first season with the Cowboys. AP The X user at the center of the video drama, who shared the Prescott-Cooks clip one day before training camp, could hardly believe the network's apology. 'THEY JUST APOLOGIZED FOR SHOWING MY TWEET LMAO,' @FergSZN wrote. The Cowboys, coming off a disappointing 7-10 campaign, are entering a new era under first-year coach Brian Schottenheimer. Dallas opens the season on the road against Philadelphia on Sept 4.

ESPN drops the ball on fake highlight of former Steelers WR George Pickens at Cowboys training camp
It didn't take long for former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens to start stealing headlines with the Dallas Cowboys. But this is for a sort of strange reason. On ESPN's Take, they showed a highlight of a Cowboys wide receiver making a great catch for a touchdown at training camp. Host Molly Qerim talked up Pickens, making this excellent touchdown catch on the first play of Cowboys training camp. The rub? Dallas doesn't start their training camp until Wednesday. This wasn't even a highlight that included Pickens. So Qerim and First Take made the decision to show an old highlight that didn't include Pickens as if it were the former Steelers receiver and wasn't even during the current camp. Qerim and ESPN later issued an apology for the misstep. The Steelers traded Pickens to the Cowboys this offseason after Pittsburgh acquired veteran DK Metcalf via trade from the Seattle Seahawks.

Spurs' Victor Wembanyama-De'Aaron Fox duo gets excited take from ex-player
The post Spurs' Victor Wembanyama-De'Aaron Fox duo gets excited take from ex-player appeared first on ClutchPoints. Former San Antonio Spurs guard Danny Green cautioned biased his take when asked which Western Conference duo he most excited to watch next season. His response was the Spurs' Victor Wembanyama and De'Aaron Fox. Wembanyama's blood clot health scare ended his season, forfeiting an extended glance at San Antonio's duo after the NBA's trade deadline deal the Sacramento Kings. Then, Fox underwent season-ending surgery on his left hand. Advertisement It was the first time Fox had gone under the knife. The surgery repaired tendon damage in his left pinkie finger. Couple the Spurs' intriguing duo with young and talented complimentary players, and it's enough for Green to say the Wembanyama and Fox tandem is what he's most looking forward to in the Western Conference, per ESPN's First Take. 'I'm looking at the Spurs. I wanna see a healthy Wemby and De'Aaron Fox. We never got a chance to get them at full strength last year,' Green said. 'Obviously, everybody's interested in what KD looks like, too. For me, it's that duo and seeing how Wemby bounces back from that blood clot issue, and De'Aaron Fox from his surgery. They have a great, good core around them. They just drafted Dillon Harper. They have Stephon Castle. 'They have so many good, young pieces. Vassell. You got Keldon Johnson over there. Jeremy Sohan. They have a really great young core. I think they can be one of those teams that turns around fully and, obviously they were a lottery team this past year, but going from that to being a top six seed in the west,' Green concluded. Could this be the year the Spurs make their playoff run? The Spurs' front office may have made moves to steer them in that direction after drafting a generational talent in Wembanyama, signing a future Hall of Fame guard in Chris Paul, and trading for a fringe All-Star in Fox, who is entering his prime years. Advertisement Add the second overall pick in this year's draft, and a strong supporting role, and the Spurs do have the potential to be a top-tier team in the Western Conference. De'Aaron Fox drops stunning reality after joining Spurs Daniel Dunn-Imagn Images Before surgery, Spurs guard De'Aaron Fox discussed his excitement to play alongside All-Star Victor Wembanyama and heard nothing but good things about the rising star. 'I've heard great things. I think CP's [Chris Paul] worked with him as well,' Fox said. 'He's done great things, so I'm ready for it.' Spurs fans are in for an exciting 2025-26 campaign.
