Tamzin Outhwaite makes dating app confession after split from toyboy ex

Tamzin Outhwaite has opened up about her experience with dating apps as she expands her search for love - but there could be one major flaw in her approach to online dating Tamzin Outhwaite is swiping for love - revealing she has signed up to a dating app. The 54-year-old soap icon has been single since last year after she split from toyboy fitness instructor boyfriend Tom Child. ‌ The star, famous for playing Mel Owen on the BBC show from 1998 until 2019, was previously married to Miranda star Tom Ellis, 46, from 2006 until 2014. The couple divorced amid explosive claims he had cheated - sparking the end of the relationship. ‌ The former husband and wife share two daughters together - while he welcomed another daughter with wife Meaghan Oppenheimer in 2023, and he has an older daughter from a prior relationship. Tamzin enjoyed a relationship with Tom Child from 2017 to the summer of 2024 - getting together after meeting at a yoga class. ‌ Tom Child is 20 years younger than the soap actress, and while the relationship is over, the former couple are said to still be friends. But now Tamzin has revealed she is ready for love again following her 2024 break up. And she has admitted she has turned to technology to try and find love via the algorithm and through swiping right - and left. But she also confessed she forgets she is signed up to the dating app - so some men may be waiting to match. ‌ Opening up to The Sun, she said: 'I'm single, I've tried the dating apps. I'm on one now but I keep forgetting to check it. I just can't imagine actually going on the date and going back to the small talk. It will happen one day but I'm certainly not waiting for it." She continued: 'I've been single for over a year now and I'm loving it too much. I owe it to myself to be single, because I haven't been single for this long, ever." She added: "I have always been in relationships. I actually like being on my own, it's really nice.' ‌ Last month, Tamzin opened up about the close friendship she had formed with Tom Child following their split last year and after seven happy years together. She told Hello Magazine: "He's still one of my best friends, and I adore him. But I had to say: ''I don't want to share a bed. I'm in a phase where I need to be on my own'." And last year, Tamzin opened up to the Mirror about her single status, having then recently broken up with the fitness hunk. She said: 'I'm happy single. There's a lot on! Life is really busy, throwing a relationship into that is a whole other thing. ‌ "Freedom fills up my cup, freedom to do as you please is a lovely thing. That makes me happy.' Tamzin, who took part in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special last year, said she is on a quest to challenge herself, build on things that make her happy and 'fill up my own cup' She was paired with Nikita Kuzmin for the Christmas Special - and shared that some of her friends tried to warn her off taking part in the cursed show. She revealed: "Some people have said to me 'oh you should do it' and other people have said 'definitely don't' - but these aren't people who have done it! 'These are actor friends of mine that are like, 'Why? Don't do it, it's going to be a nightmare' but actually this is a little taster for me. It's making me kind of think it wouldn't necessarily be a nightmare. My body might be able to hold up.' Sharing her joy for dance, she said at the time: "In my head, when I'm dancing I think I look like Nadiya (Bychkova). And then I catch myself in the mirror and I'm like, 'oh dear'. In my head it looks and feels really beautiful - I'm trying to be graceful but that's not in my comfort zone.'

Although the 54-year-old has taken the plunge with online dating since 'I just can't imagine actually going on the date and going back to the small talk. It will happen one day but I'm certainly not waiting for it. 'I've been single for over a year now and I'm loving it too much. 'I owe it to myself to be single, because I haven't been single for this long, ever. I have always been in relationships. I actually like being on my own, it's really nice .' Her last relationship was with fitness instructor Afterwards, straight-talking Tamzin said it was the 'most mature, respectful and humane break-up' she has ever had and she says they have stayed friends. It was a far cry from the agonising end of her seven-year marriage to Miranda and Lucifer actor 'Felt a fraud' While she was looking after their two young daughters, he had a fling with Lost actress Tamzin Outhwaite reveals she's split from toyboy boyfriend after six years together Tamzin does not believe it was the only time Tom was unfaithful. A decade after the split, she took to social media and put up a post that she later deleted which read: 'Ten years since the father of my kids walked out on us for the final time. "I still meet new people on jobs who reveal more infidelities and lies he committed.' And now, another hindrance for her love life is finding the time to date. Laughing, she tells how her daughters Florence, 17, and Marnie, nearly 13, keep her busy, saying: 'I don't have the time. I'm concentrating a lot on driving my teenagers around.' Within her career, she has barely had a break either. Tamzin became a household name in 1998 when she joined the cast of the BBC's EastEnders as Mel, and went on to win several Sexiest Female awards as well as Best Actress thanks to the role. She has also starred in army series Red Cap, crime drama New Tricks and played Rebecca Mitchell in drama Hotel Babylon. Recently she played a recovering drug addict in ITV's police series The Tower, and last year played sex-loving Sylvie in Channel 5's six-part drama The Wives. Tamzin says that after reading the script for The Wives, she overhauled her health and figure ready for the camera. She says: 'I lost weight before we started filming The Wives last February. I just can't imagine actually going on the date and going back to the small talk Tamzin Outhwaite 'I read that I was in a bikini a lot and a swimsuit. So, between Christmas and the New Year, I didn't drink any alcohol and I exercised every day. I didn't ever weigh myself, but I just knew I could fit into things that I didn't used to. 'I went down a dress size. It took me six weeks. Now it's just keeping it off.' She does not have a regular exercise regime but loves doing 'outdoor yoga', has collagen stimulating Neogen facials and swears by sitting in hot saunas. Tamzin says: 'I have a sauna at least four times a week. Without a doubt it works. I stay in for anything between 25 and 35 minutes. 'If you need to you can get out and have a cold shower then get back in, then that's great.' Tamzin, who also supports charities including Caudwell Children, which helps disabled children, has a tight-knit group of friends who became her lifeline during her relationship woes. 6 The star opposite Steve McFadden's Phil in EastEnders, in 2018 Credit: Handout 6 Tamzin in 2012 with ex-husband Tom Ellis Credit: Getty Images - Getty They include Denise Van Outen, Holly Willoughby, Sarah Parish, Angela Griffin and Tamzin says: 'I get an awful lot from my female friends. And my male friends, and family and work colleagues too.' While some of her mates have moved from acting into presenting, Tamzin has no plans to follow in their footsteps. There have been rumours that she could join the Loose Women panel but she says: 'It's been talked about but I don't think I'm a very good presenter. I prefer to act. I don't think presenting is really for me.' Last year she took part in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special which she says she 'loved'. She says: 'I loved it. It was easy. Well, it wasn't easy, but I felt like a bit of a fraud because I wasn't doing the main show.' Despite this, she would not do the full series. Tamzin says: 'I wouldn't have the patience or the bones at this stage — or muscles.' 'I'd get frustrated' Partnered by pro Tamzin, who studied drama and dance at the London Studio Centre as a teen, reveals: 'I'd just get frustrated because I used to dance and I wanted to be able to dance like I used to, and I can't.' And while she loves TV work, Tamzin admits she is getting fewer offers than she used to after turning 40. She says: 'It slows right down. Well, it has for me and it has for most people I know at my age. I owe it to myself to be single, because I haven't been single for this long, ever Tamzin Outhwaite 'But I also think we're becoming a bit more aware of it.' However, she is still in demand on stage. Over her career she has had starring West End roles in Oliver! and Grease. Last year she gave what one reviewer called 'the performance of her career' in a revival of Mike Leigh's 1970s comedy Abigail's Party. And next month she begins rehearsals in another modern stage classic, the dark comedy Entertaining Mr Sloane, by Joe Orton. Tamzin will play landlady Kath, who begins an affair with a new lodger, in the production that opens at London's Young Vic in September. Tamzin says: 'I absolutely love doing theatre and more than anything I love that rehearsal process. 'I like doing four weeks in a room with other people as a collaborative. That's my favourite thing to do as an actor.' Only one thing stops her from making the stage her entire career. She says: 'You can't live off theatre money. You run at a loss a lot of the time, because theatre is so badly paid.' But Tamzin says she loves the adrenaline of knowing that one mistake in front of an audience could cause chaos. She adds: 'I think that's also the best thing about it — it makes it more exciting.' 6 Tamzin partnering with Nikita on Strictly's 2024 Christmas special Credit: BBC Tamzin Outhwaite's roles over the years Viewers may recognise Tamzin Outhwaite from several projects over the years EastEnders (1998-2002, 2018-2019) - Mel Owen Doctor Who (2013) - Captain Alice Ferrin (2013-2015) - DCI Sasha Miller Death in Paradise (2022) - Holly Faircroft The Tower (2023) - Cathy Teel

Catfished from Manila: Scammers using your photos as date bait

Maggie is a 35-year-old Brooklyn native seeking love and a good time. This bank teller isn't interested in "silly games", and she wants to meet a man who can win her heart and send her "kisses". The thing is, Maggie isn't real. She is one of countless fake dating profiles piloted by writers from Manila in the Philippines. Here, hundreds of employees clock in for their shifts where they pretend to be other people. In an international investigation involving ITV News, The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, 20 European partners, and led by the European Investigative Collaborations; confidential data, documents and inside sources have shown how scammers are turning loneliness into big business. These dating sites operate with the sole aim of taking cash from customers in exchange for the promise of companionship - which ultimately doesn't exist. Maggie might not be genuine, but her photos are. They belong to 25-year-old Tamzin, based in the North of England, who had her social media pictures stolen by these sophisticated scammers. Tamzin's photos were initially lifted from an old social media account and used to create @maggiewildhottie and a number of other profiles. Dutch newspaper NRC came across Tamzin's photos while investigating a website called It is one of numerous dating scam sites linked to a group called Aether - not to be confused with legitimate companies trading under the same name - a supposedly legitimate business which describes itself as a "global omnichannel marketing agency focused on driving business results for brands." But it doesn't appear to be registered as a company - rather at the head of a global scamming empire. With the help of The Bureau of Investigative Journalism, the Netherlands' NRC, Germany's Der Spiegel and Denmark's Politiken, we have helped uncover what appears to be a global scamming operation potentially worth a billion pounds. Dating scams are just one of Aether's linked schemes; scammers will use what look like legitimate websites to gain victim's payment details and sign them up to bogus subscriptions. We know these types of sites have scammed thousands out of people, who are tricked into handing over their cash. But what is harder to measure is the emotional damage done. Tamzin told ITV News the scheme had left her feeling "vulnerable" and "violated". After being contacted by NRC, she had to explain to her partner and work that she hadn't been "looking for a good time" online and that her photos had been stolen. EIC) - based on confidential documents and data obtained by the EIC. The profile online was also a far cry from Tamzin's actual personality. She told ITV News: "I wouldn't message someone for the first time and say, 'hello there baby and sweetie and things like that.' "That's the thing, people can't verify. "People could probably verify in some way or another whether she's a bank teller living in Brooklyn, but someone can't verify whether I would say things like sweetie or baby. "So it's weird. It's a complete misrepresentation. It kind of feels like I'm some sort of commodity." Once the victim is hooked by scammers, they are offered additional perks on the sites - at an additional charge. These include extended chats with their 'dates' or more access to their profile. In Tamzin's case, site users were paying to access photos of her while on holiday at Centre Parcs. She told ITV News: "I can tell you exactly where that photo was taken. It was at Centre Parcs for my 21st birthday. "And it's like, why? Why are they charging people extra to see a completely innocent photo of me standing in front of some trees? "It just feels completely wrong. And obviously they're profiting from that." At the time of ITV News' interview, 'Maggie's' profile was active, but has since been shut down. 'There's no face to direct that anger to other than mine' While Tamzin had nothing to do with the profile or the people it potentially scammed out of money, she has been left feeling responsible for the victims. "Because there's no face to direct that anger to, other than mine, I guess I kind of take on some of that responsibility. Because it feels like I am kind of on the receiving end. "They've got nowhere else to direct that anger to, other than at me. "So I do feel like I have some responsibility to explain that I'm not involved in this."

Tamzin Outhwaite makes major romance vow as she spills on toyboy split

Actress Tamzin Outhwaite has issued an update on her love life and the major change she is making going forward following her split from ex boyfriend Tom Child last summer Tamzin Outhwaite has made a life-changing vow following the split from her boyfriend Tom Child after six years together. The actress, 54, met Tom, 33, at a yoga class in 2017 and their love blossomed away from their mats. However, things were not meant to be between the pair as they went their separate ways last summer. Tamzin has been open about her struggle with love, having previously been married to actor Tom Ellis, 46. ‌ They split in 2014 amid cheating allegations while Tom was filming Once Upon A Time with actress Emile De Ravin. After six years in a relationship with someone two decades younger than her, Tamzin has revealed she is now ready to be on her own. ‌ Tamzin and Tom parted ways amicably and have remained one of each others best friends. Yet, after their split Tamzin has decided to make a huge change going forward in her love life with a very strict rule. She told Hello Magazine: "He's still one of my best friends, and I adore him. But I had to say: ''I don't want to share a bed. I'm in a phase where I need to be on my own'." Last year, Tamzin opened up to the Mirror about her newfound single status. 'I'm happy single,' she told us. 'There's a lot on! Life is really busy, throwing a relationship into that is a whole other thing. "Freedom fills up my cup, freedom to do as you please is a lovely thing. That makes me happy.' Tamzin, who took part in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special last year, said she is on a quest to challenge herself, build on things that make her happy and 'fill up my own cup' ‌ 'I'm just trying to stay open, get out of my comfort zone and do different things to help me grow,' she added. 'I'm on a bit of a mission at the moment. I want to do more things that give you fear because even going through the fear is important. That's where your growth happens as a person.' Tamzin's change in pace began after the menopause hit while she was trying to juggle her busy life as an actress, a mum-of-two, and a doting daughter to her elderly father who lives 'at the end of the garden'. She decided to throw herself into wellness, learning breathwork, stepping up her yoga practice and building a sauna in her spare room. Tamzin said: 'Taking stock, taking a breath and retreating is something I've been learning to do so I can fill up my own cup then come back into my life and do everything that I do, which is keeping up a career, keeping up home, keeping up everything to do with my children and my dad, who lives with me at the end of the garden. "It's making sure everyone is OK. I'm not a saint but juggling all the plates and a career on top of that can be quite stifling.'
