The British celebrity chef, 58, appeared on a June 9 episode of the Smartless podcast and was asked by co-host Sean Hayes about missing the birth of his first four kids. Ramsay explained that it was actually his wife Tana's choice to not have him in the delivery room and shared that he'd actually attempted to be there when they welcomed son Oscar. "Hold on, you're going to get me into s--- here. Let's make one thing absolutely clear, okay? My wife didn't want me in there," Ramsay shared. "She said, 'First of all, I want my mom and your mom in here. You're not going to f------ see me in that state. Okay. That side of the curtain — get out of there." "So that was her decision, I had to respect that decision," he continued. "And then when I did finally arrive in the theater for our fifth baby, I f------ collapsed like a wimp and I blacked out holding Oscar in the air," he shared. Asked by co-host Will Arnett if it was a caesarean section (C-section), Ramsay confirms that it was. "I said, 'Can you play Ed Sheeran?' So they started playing Ed. 'But can you turn up the volume? I can hear all these noises. Turn up the volume,'" Ramsay remembered. "And all of a sudden, I saw two more doctors dive in. I looked on the floor and there was blood everywhere." "And all of a sudden, they popped him out and then they came straight over to me," he said. "I went, 'Whoa, whoa whoa. S---!' Yeah and then I sat back and I collapsed like a f------ idiot." Ramsay and his longtime wife Tana became parents in 1998 after welcoming their eldest daughter, Megan Ramsay, 26. Their brood grew to a family of six with the birth of fraternal twins, daughter Holly Anna Ramsay and son Jack Scott Ramsay, 25, in 1999; Matilda Ramsay, 23, who affectionately goes by Tilly, in 2001; son Oscar James Ramsay, 6, in 2019 (after experiencing a miscarriage in 2016); and son Jesse James in 2023. Back in May, Ramsay appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark and shared that his wife has hopes of expanding their family again. "So you took like a break in the middle, so you were like overwhelmed, and then, just when things calm down, you were like 'Let's do it again,' " host Kelly Ripa joked to Ramsay, who replied that it was all his wife Tana Ramsay's idea. He smiled brightly as he pointed to his wife, revealing that the mom of six is interested in expanding her family once more. "Tana wants one more!" he said. Read the original article on People

Gordon Ramsay reveals the 'scary' moment he passed out while cradling son Oscar just moments after his birth and admits 'my wife didn't want me in there'

Gordon Ramsay has revealed the dramatic moment he fainted in the delivery room during the birth of his son Oscar. The celebrity chef, 58, wasn't present for the births of his first four children - Megan, 26, twins Jack and Holly, 25, and Tilly, 23 - as his wife Tana, 50, insisted he stayed out of the delivery room. She didn't want him to see her in labour or experience the raw reality of childbirth firsthand. However, in 2019, Gordon was by her side for the arrival of their son Oscar, now six, delivered via C-section. Yet what was meant to be a joyful moment - with Ed Sheeran 's music playing in the background - took a chaotic turn when the chef fainted while cradling his newborn son. Appearing on the Smartless podcast, Gordon said: 'Let's make one thing absolutely clear, my wife didn't want me in there. 'First of all, she said, "I want my mum and your mum in there, you're not going to see me in that state, that side of the curtain, get out of there." That was her decision and I had to respect that decision. 'When I did final arrive in the theatre for our fifth baby I f****** collapsed like a wimp! I blacked out holding Oscar in the air. 'He was coming through the sun roof so there was a lot of commotion going on. 'They said, "What do you want to listen to?" So I said, "Can you play Ed Sheeran?" So they started playing Ed, they turned up the volume, I can hear all these noises, all of a sudden I see two more doctors dive in, I look to the floor and there was blood everywhere. 'They popped him out and then they came straight over to me and I went, "Woah, woah, s***." I sat back and I collapsed like a f****** idiot.' Gordon and his wife Tana went on to welcome their sixth child in November 2023. At the time, he posted a heartwarming photo of himself kissing his newborn on the head as Tana cradled him in her arms. Sharing the announcement on Instagram, Gordon said the birth was an 'amazing birthday present', as his birthday is on November 8. He wrote: 'What an amazing birthday present please welcome Jesse James Ramsay, 7lbs 10oz whopper!! One more bundle of love to the Ramsay brigade!! 3 boys, 3 girls…. Done.' Tana also shared her own post, saying the Ramsay family had been 'blessed' with their new arrival. She wrote: 'It's been a nerve wracking 9 months but we've made it and we have been blessed with this little bundle. Ramsay family definitely complete. Jesse James Ramsay we love you so much ❤️'. The couple, who married in 1996, kept Tana's latest pregnancy a secret. However, back in September, Gordon admitted he was under pressure from Tana to have a sixth child but said he was against the idea. Speaking to Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett on the Dish podcast, Gordon confessed: 'I've got a little secret… Tana wants another one.' But he admitted that he is reluctant to have another baby, saying the family would need 'two buses' and that he would be older than the other parents at school. He said: 'It's like going to school, going out for dinner in two buses. And secondly, I'm going to be the oldest f***er at school. "Who's your grandad?" 'And what about sports day? The egg and spoon race. What am I going to do? So, I'd love another one, but no.' Gordon also spoke about how his youngest child, Oscar, is quickly following in his father's footsteps after complaining about the food at his school during his first week. He said: 'He didn't want to wear his blazer. He said, "Dad, it's too f***ing itchy." And he said, "the food's s***". 'I said, son, BYO. He said, "what does that mean?" I said, "bring your f***ing own." So he's got his own lunchbox, it's all prepped, he's got his finger sandwiches.' Despite being unwilling to grow his brood, Gordon admitted that his fathering skills have improved with each kid. He explained: 'Everything you did wrong first time round, you do so much better. He's growing up at such a rate of knots. He's like a little adult at four because he's got four big siblings that he answers to.' Gordon admitted during the coronavirus pandemic that Tana was keen to expand their family, wanting to use the opportunity of lockdown to start trying. Speaking to Jimmy Fallon, he said: 'Literally two hours ago our prime minister has announced we are in lockdown now until the frigging 15th of February.

Jamie Oliver reveals what he really thinks of Gordon Ramsay after their 15-year long feud

Jamie Oliver has revealed what he really thinks of Gordon Ramsay after their 15-year long feud. The chefs' feud began in 2009 when Jamie, 49, criticised Gordon, 58, for comparing an Australian journalist to a pig, the following year Gordon said Jamie was 'just a cook' and a 'one-pot wonder' while he proclaimed himself to be 'a chef'. However, in recent years it all appears to have thawed, with Jamie addressing their relationship in a new interview. Speaking to The Times on Sunday, he explained: 'Me and Gordon are absolutely friends, our little berating decade is behind us. 'He's smashing life at the moment. He's doing things that no chef's ever done. We're on good terms and long may it continue.' From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new Showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Recently, Gordon admitted that his wife Tana uses Jamie's cookbooks to whip up lasagne and shepherd's pie when she's having guests over, and also posted a TikTok clip of himself with one of his rival's recipe books. It may have created the sneaking suspicion that their public spats were nothing more than a 'fake feud' to harmlessly drum up a bit of extra publicity, but in the past their animosity has taken a more serious turn. In one instance, Gordon refused to speak with Jamie after his rival made a seemingly innocent remark about the amount of children both men had - soon after his wife Tana had suffered a miscarriage. That same year, the Scottish chef also launched a verbal attack on Jamie, calling him a 'fat f**k' among other insults on a talk show, while he was trying to sort the UK's obesity problem by hogging all the food himself. According to the Irish Independent, he had during a show episode also decided to address the situation in a mock apology. 'Dear Jamie, I just want to say that I'm sorry,' he said. 'I have been hard on you this week, Jamie. 'What I said was hurtful, Jamie. I don't want to make you cry. The last thing I want to do is look at your cute face and think blubber, blubber, blubber.' However, the playful character of the feud took a turn when later that year, Gordon vowed never to speak to Jamie following a bitter exchange of words over the size of their respective families. The duo became embroiled in an extraordinary row over comments made by Jamie months after Gordon's wife's miscarriage. Gordon accused Jamie of 'judging' him for having four children at the time (he now has six), compared with the Naked Chef star's five, and insisted he must apologise to Tana before they can make peace. When Jamie was asked about Gordon's Nightly Show remarks by The Sun in August, he said: 'I was doing TV years before him, so maybe five years ago it would have bothered me and I may have responded. 'But he's got four kids and I've got five kids, and I don't want to be slagging off some kids' dad on telly. It's not nice.' Gordon, whose wife Tana suffered a miscarriage at five months in June the year prior, said he interpreted the comments as a dig after what was 'a s*** year'. He told Radio Times that their long-term 'feud' was 'fun' until Jamie made the comment. He said: 'Jamie turned round and said, 'I've got five kids, he's got four kids.' To judge someone else's family on the amount of kids you have.' Gordon then said said he would not talk to Jamie again until he apologises to Tana. He said: 'Boys will always fight and butt heads but Tana was mortified, I mean really mortified.' However, it appears all has thawed in recent years, as this week - in a rare admission of his rival's culinary skills - Gordon revealed his wife Tana is a fan of Jamie's and uses his recipe book to cook their food. Elsewhere, the Kitchen Nightmares star said he 'loves Jamie' in a TikTok, calling their fallout 'old news'.
