Two arrested after kilo of cocaine, firearms seized in Cape Breton
Cape Breton Regional Police has charged two people with 16 drugs and weapons charges.
Street Crime officers executed a warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act at a property on Shore Road in Florence on May 8.
The officers seized one kilogram of cocaine, along with other drug paraphernalia, cash, two firearms and ammunition.
Todd Christopher White, 56, and Tanya Leann Young, 45, were arrested at the scene.
Both were later charged with:
possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine
possession of property obtained by crime
careless use of a firearm and ammunition (four counts)
unauthorized possession of a firearm (two counts) and with knowledge (two counts)
possession of a weapon obtained by crime (two counts)
possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (two counts)
two breaches of the firearms act
White is also charged with two breaches of probation.
