Suspects sought after 2 west end auto thefts
Windsor police are asking for the public's help in two auto theft investigations in the west side of the city. Officers responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in the 5200 block of Malden Road shortly before 8 a.m. on June 26. A preliminary investigation revealed that the vehicle was stolen from a residence in the 3600 block of Girardot Street, before being abandoned in a ditch along Malden. About an hour later, officers responded to an attempted vehicle theft at a residence in the 1000 block of Brock Street. Officers learned that a suspect had unsuccessfully attempted to steal the car, causing damage to the ignition before fleeing the scene. Investigators are asking residents and business owners in the area bordered by Prince Road, Tecumseh Road, Huron Church Road, and Millen Street to review their surveillance or dash cam footage, specifically in the early morning hours of June 26, for video evidence that may assist with the investigation. Suspect charged after break-and-enter in Windsor
A suspect has been arrested and charged for a break-and-enter, following a previous arrest for a string of break-and-enters in Windsor a month earlier. On June 18, the 38-year-old man was arrested in the 3000 block of Legacy Park Drive for his involvement in a break-and-enter on June 14. At approximately 4 a.m., two suspects were captured on video surveillance at a business in the 2800 block of Kew Drive. They cut the lock to the front gate and used a forklift to load aluminum fixtures into a rental vehicle. After loading the car, they left at a high rate of speed, crashed into the gate and significantly damaged the vehicle. The man was charged with break, enter and commit in a place other than a dwelling and failure to comply with a release order. The damaged rental vehicle was recovered at the scene. The suspect was previously involved in break-ins at several local businesses, resulting in theft over $100,000. The second suspect hasn't been identified. He's described as a white man, 40 – 50 years old. Video surveillance shows he was wearing a black hooded sweater, blue jeans and black shoes. Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Windsor Police Service Target Base Unit.

Cocaine, meth and Taser seized from theft suspect: Windsor police
Windsor police officers seized a quantity of drugs and a Taser from a 41-year-old man after an online theft investigation. Earlier this month, police began investigating the theft of a watch and learned that the suspect was trying to sell the stolen item through an online marketplace. Officers soon arranged a meeting with the suspect. On June 10, police met the suspect in the 1400 block of Huron Church Road, where he was taken into custody without incident. During a search incident to the arrest, officers say they recovered 67.5 grams of methamphetamine, 4.4 grams of cocaine, a pocket-sized conducted energy weapon (commonly known as a Taser), $1,790 in cash, and the stolen watch. The street value of the drugs is estimated at over $3,700. As a result, the man is charged with: Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking (methamphetamine) Unlawful possession of a Schedule I substance (cocaine) Possession of a prohibited weapon Possession of property obtained by crime Trafficking in property obtained by crime Failure to comply with a release order Anyone with information is asked to call the Target Base Unit at 519-255-6700, ext. 4350. $100,000 in Crown Royal whisky stolen
Windsor police officers are investigating the theft of a truckload full of $100,000 worth of whisky from a fenced-in facility. Police say suspects broke into a fenced-in facility in the 3300 block of Devon Drive and stole a semi-tractor trailer loaded with over 1,000 boxes of Crown Royal whisky products around 9 p.m. on May 17. The trailer was found abandoned the following day in the 4000 block of County Road 46. Police say the whiskey was removed and hasn't been located. Investigators urge residents and business owners in the area to check their surveillance or dashcam footage for possible evidence.
