Kaizer Chiefs players meet and greet fans in Durban

Kaizer Chiefs players were on a meet and greet with their fans at The Workshop in Durban on Friday, 25 July. The players met with their fans ahead of the Toyota Cup, which will be held at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday, 26 July at 15:00. Amakhosi will face Ghanaian side Asante Kotoko FC, where they will be looking to redeem themselves after suffering a 4-0 defeat to Tanzanian superstars Young Africans SC in the same fixture at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein last year. The Soweto giants were seen dancing and singing along with their fans. They were also involved in a game where they had to choose fans to come up and answer questions regarding the match in order to win some exciting prizes, including match tickets and Kaizer Chiefs accessories. Saturday's game will not only see Kiazer Chiefs players having a blast on the field, but some of the club's legends will also be playing against Zulu Kingdom Football Club – also at Moses Mabhida Stadium – at 12:00. Among the legends who will be turning back the clock are Siyabonga Nomvethe and Brilliant Khuzwayo, who both contributed immensely to Kaizer Chiefs' rich history. Meanwhile, rumours are circulating that the Nedbank Cup champions are looking to extend the contract of goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma. A close source alleged that Bvuma is one of the goalkeepers that the club intends to keep. 'Talks between all the involved parties have started. They are believed to be working on tying down as many players as they can, and he is one of them with whom talks have started,' alleged the source. The 30-year-old goalkeeper first joined the glamour boys in 2014 in the club's youth academy. After working his way to the top, he managed to secure a spot with the main squad in 2016. Kaizer Chiefs news: New striker to be sacrificed?

Kaizer Chiefs could look to sacrifice striker Tashreeq Morris after just seven months at the club. The 31-year-old forward has struggled to find his feet at Naturena, having signed from SuperSport in January. Morris only scored once for Chiefs in the nine matches he played for the club last season. According to Soccer Laduma , Kaizer Chiefs are set to make changes to the attacking department, with indications that Tashreeq Morris could be sacrificed. 'The technical team wants to have strikers with wingers believed to be playing a part in the attack. In their restructuring of the squad, they are believed to be looking at releasing one or two strikers, with Tashreeq Morris' name being bandied about. We will see after the pre-season for the final decision on which strikers will be sacrificed,' a source revealed to Siya crew. 'As much as the team is believed to be looking at releasing strikers, they are still looking at signing at least one more attacking midfielder. They are talking about a winger or another number 10. I think that could be last signing for this window,' the source added. So far, seven players have left Kaizer Chiefs in the last seven weeks. Club captain Yusuf Maart has left Amakhosi to join newly-promoted Austrian Football Bundesliga outfit, SV Ried. The 29-year-old joined Chiefs from Sekhukhune United in July 2022, making his debut away to Royal AM the following month, and featured in 95 matches in the Gold & Black in all competitions, scoring seven times, including the winning goal in last season's Nedbank Cup Final. Kaizer Chiefs Striker Sacrifice: R6-million attacker to make way for new signing

Kaizer Chiefs are going to be making even more changes to their playing squad. Kaizer Chiefs have already released SEVEN players so far. However, they are far from done with their squad revamp. Kaizer Chiefs face a striker and attack crisis. In three matches – 270 minutes (4 and a half hours) of football, not one attacker has scored for Amakhosi during their pre-season tour of Spain. Therefore, it is clear that Chiefs need to revamp their attack. Unfortunately, for their attackers, that does not just mean signing new attackers. Additionally, it means that the current crop of wingers and strikers are in danger of being released. So, the technical team is planning to release one or two strikers with Tashreeq Morris facing a possible departure out of Naturena. 'The technical team wants to have strikers with wingers believed to be playing a part in the attack. In their restructuring of the squad, they are believed to be looking at releasing one or two strikers, with Tashreeq Morris' name being bandied about. We will see after the pre-season for the final decision on which strikers will be sacrificed,' the insider stated on SNL . Morris is valued at over R6 million, according to Transfermarkt . Chiefs need to sign a clinical striker. Meanwhile, Amakhosi's technical team wants to bring in at least one more attacking midfielder – a winger or a number 10. 'As much as the team is believed to be looking at releasing strikers, they are still looking at signing at least one more attacking midfielder. They are talking about a winger or another number 10. I think that could be last signing for this window,' the source added. Kaizer Chiefs: R6-million striker heading out

Kaizer Chiefs are going to trimming their squad substantially in the next transfer window. Several Kaizer Chiefs stars are linked with likely departures. So, some Amakhosi players will be loaned out. Whilst, others will be heading out of Naturena, permanently. Chiefs striker, Tashreeq Morris is the latest attacker linked with a likely exit. According to SNL, the former SuperSport United attacker is set to be loaned out at the end of the season. He has failed to make the impact on the club that they had hoped when he was signed. Morris scored just two goals in 18 appearancees in the Betway Premiership. Bringing his tally to a meager 2 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions for Chiefs this season. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that he is linked with a likely exit. As mentioned, he is likely to be loaned out. Interestingly, he is valued at over R6 million, according to Transfermarkt. However, if he is loaned out and not sold than this does not come into play. Meanwhile, the Soweto giants have lined up several red-hot exciting attacking targets. Most noticeably, Bafana Bafana and Polokwane City attacker, Oswin Appollis is yet again linked with Amakhosi.
