Qatar-Greece joint panel holds first session in Doha
Tribune News Network Doha Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry HE Dr Ahmad bin Mohammed Al Sayed and Tasos Chatzivasileiou, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, co-chaired the first session of the Qatar-Greece Joint Committee for Economic and Technical Cooperation, held in Doha on 16 June 2025. The committee's proceedings were attended by representatives from a number of governmental entities, including the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Public Health, Ministry of Municipality, Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, Ministry of Labour, and Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. Also participating were the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa), the Investment Promotion Agency (Invest Qatar), Qatar Investment Authority, Qatar Central Bank, the Civil Aviation Authority, Qatar Airways Group, the Free Zones Authority, and Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The meetings of the committee reviewed areas of cooperation in various sectors of mutual interest and explored ways to strengthen collaboration between both countries. In his opening remarks, Al Sayed highlighted the strength of the relations between the State of Qatar and the Hellenic Republic, noting that bilateral relations have grown remarkably in recent years. The minister of state emphasised the importance of the joint committee as a pivotal platform for exploring future cooperation opportunities in priority sectors, in line with national aspirations for sustainable development and economic prosperity. The minister invited Greek investors and companies to explore the promising opportunities in the Qatari market, affirming Qatar's commitment to fostering pathways for collaboration to turn shared visions into actionable ventures. At the conclusion of the committee's work, both sides expressed a shared desire to deepen bilateral ties, noting that the session's outcomes would help unlock new avenues for partnership between the State of Qatar and the Hellenic Republic.

All-Party Delegation holds talks with ELIAMEP think tank in Greece
Athens [Greece], May 28 (ANI): An All-Party Delegation led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi engaged in a comprehensive and interactive discussion with ELIAMEP think tank: Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (ELIAMEP). The delegation presented India's resolute and proactive policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism. In a post on X, the Indian embassy in Greece stated, 'The All Party Parliamentary Delegation engaged in a comprehensive and interactive discussion with ELIAMEP.' The delegation also held a dialogue with Tasos Chatzivasileiou, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece. In a post on X, the embassy said, 'Presenting Bharat's Perspective on the Global Stage- The all-party delegation, headed by Hon'ble MP Smt. Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, engaged in a substantive and fruitful dialogue with H.E. Mr. Tasos Chatzivasileiou, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece. The delegation emphasised India's resolute and proactive policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism, underscoring the nation's strengthened commitment to international peace and security.' During the meeting, the leaders exchanged pleasantries and posed for a group photo. The all-party delegation group 6 reached Greece on Tuesday evening. Indian Ambassador to Greece Rudrendra Tandon welcomed the delegation at the airport. The group also held talks with the Greece-India Friendship Group earlier in the day. 'The all-party delegation, led by the Hon'ble MP Ms. Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, commenced its official engagements with a meeting involving members of the Hellenic Parliamentary Committee on Defence and Foreign Affairs, as well as the Greece-India Friendship Group.' The delegation arrived Athens on Tuesday. The group to visit Spain, Greece, Slovenia, Latvia, and Russia, led by DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi is currently in Athens. The delegation includes Rajeev Rai (Samajwadi Party), Mian Altaf Ahmad (Jammu and Kashmir National Conference), Brijesh Chowta (BJP), Prem Chand Gupta (Rashtriya Janata Dal), Ashok Kumar Mittal (Aam Aadmi Party), and Former envoys Manjeev S Puri and Jawed Ashraf. Saudi Arabia, Greece Strengthen Trade Partnership at Roundtable Meeting
Saudi Arabia and Greece on Tuesday held the Saudi-Hellenic Roundtable Meeting in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA). The meeting, co-chaired by the Saudi Minister of Commerce and Chairman of the General Authority of Foreign Trade (GAFT), Majid Al-Qasabi, and the Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tasos Chatzivasileiou, saw the participation of several government and private entities. The Saudi-Hellenic Roundtable Meeting aimed to strengthen the trade and investment partnerships between Saudi Arabia and Greece, and explore investment opportunities in the Saudi construction sector. Furthermore, major companies from both countries participated in the meeting, including NEOM, Qiddiya Investment Company, Red Sea Global, King Salman International Airport, Diriyah Company, New Murabba, AlUla Development Company, ROSHN Group, Soudah Development, and King Salman Park, in addition to many Greek companies. Trade exchange between Saudi Arabia and Greece reached about $2 billion, as of the third quarter of 2024.
