Tata Scarlet Sub-4m SUV Under Works, Could Rival Mahindra Bolero

Tata Motors India has been planning to diversify its product offering in the country. Recently, the brand launched the Tata Altroz and Tata strengthening its Indian portfolio. According to Autocar India, Tata is now planning to introduce a new nameplate in India, codenamed Scarlet. This is one of the seven new nameplates the brand plans to launch by 2030. Also Read: BMW M2 CS Sets Record At Nurburgring, Check Timing Here While the Indian car manufacturer remains tight-lipped about its sub-4 m SUV, the Tata Scarlet, it is reportedly based on a monocoque platform, supporting both internal combustion and electric powertrains. It can either utilize the brand's 1.5-liter NA petrol, Nexon's 1.2-liter turbo petrol, or Curvv's 1.2-liter direct injection turbo petrol engine. It might also get a diesel engine as well. Like the Tata may equip the Scarlet SUV with an AWD setup, using a front and a rear motor on the axle. However, the pricing may also push Scarlet to ditch the AWD format. Also Read: Mahindra SUV Concept Teased Ahead Of August 15 Debut Tata is expected to place the Scarlet SUV quite close to the Nexon ICE and Nexon EV. While the design of the Scarlet SUV is expected to be quite bold, boxy, and more aggressive than the Nexon's design appeal. Though the brand has not provided much data yet, it is also expected to rival the Mahindra Bolero. Apart from the Scarlet SUV, the brand is also working on diversifying its product portfolio. Reports suggest that Tata is also working on two new sub-4 m SUVs codenamed- Terra and Kuno. Though Tata has kept the details about its 7 new nameplates under cover, it has confirmed the plans to introduce the new cars by 2030.

Tata Motors' PV Sales Suffer 15 Percent Drop In June'25; CV Down By 5 Percent

Tata Motors India has now announced its sales report for the month of June Motors Limited sales in the domestic & international markets for Q1 FY26 stood at 2,10,415 units, compared to 2,29,891 units during Q1 FY25. Talking about the passenger vehicle segment, Tata Motors reported wholesales of 124,809 units in Q1 FY26, including 16,231 EV units, underscoring our commitment to aligning wholesale and registration volumes. EV sales gained strong momentum towards the end of the quarter with a healthy growth trajectory. The refreshed Tiago posted 16% year-on-year volume growth in Q1 FY26 and new launches- Altroz and that witnessed a positive market response, with their full impact expected in the coming months. Mr. Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd. said, "In Q1 FY26, the Passenger Vehicle industry experienced volume pressures, particularly in May and June, with flat growth reflecting continued softness in demand. The Electric Vehicle segment emerged as a bright spot, driven by robust growth and the launch of new EV models across OEMs, enhancing customer interest and consideration. However, June 2025 witnessed a sequential growth of 8% over May 2025. Additionally, our International Business delivered a robust 67.9% growth in volumes over Q1 FY25.

Tata Motors Announces Monsoon Check-Up Camp Across 500 Cities, Check Deets

Tata Motors, the Indian automotive manufacturer, has announced the commencement of a nationwide Monsoon check-up camp for its customers. Spread across 500 cities and supported by over 1,090 authorized workshops, this monsoon special service initiative will run from June 6 to June 20, 2025. The company says that with the onset of the monsoon season, the initiative is aimed at ensuring optimal vehicle performance and safety during wet and challenging driving conditions. Now, customers can avail of a free comprehensive vehicle health check-up, which includes over thirty critical inspection points covering essential systems, along with EV-specific diagnostics. The camp also offers a car top wash and exclusive discounts on original spare parts, engine oil, accessories, extended warranty, and labor charges. To add further value, customers can benefit from attractive exchange offers on new Tata cars, including a free evaluation of their existing vehicles. Tata Motors claims that the monsoon check-up camp aims to continue to reinforce its customer-first approach by delivering value-driven service experiences that prioritize safety, trust, and convenience. Customers are encouraged to visit their nearest authorized Tata Motors workshop to make the most of the Monsoon Check-Up Camp. Tata Motors India has seven ICE cars offered in the country, including the Curvv, Tiago, Tigor, Punch, Nexon, Harrier, Safari, and the recently launched Tata Altroz facelift. The brand also has six electric vehicles in the catalog, comprising the and the most recently launched Tata Tata Tata's recently launched is India's first dual motor AWD electric off-roader. It has two battery options: 65 kWh and 75 kWh in the dual-motor setup. The front motor makes 155.8 hp, and the rear unit makes 234.7 hp. The combined setup allows the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds. The prices of the starts from Rs 21.49 lakh (ex-showroom).

Tata Motors India has recently launched the 2025 Tata Altroz facelift at a starting price of Rs 6.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The 2025 Tata Altroz has received a bunch of changes inside out and a few first-in-segment features as well. The hatchback rivals with the likes of cars like the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, Toyota Glanza, and Hyundai i20. The brand has now revealed the mileage figures of the Tata Altroz facelift. Here is a mileage comparison of the 2025 Tata Altroz and its key rivals. 2025 Tata Altroz Vs Rivals: Petrol Mileage Comparison The 2025 Tata Altroz facelift gets a 1.2-liter petrol engine that is capable of pushing out 90 hp and 113 Nm. The mileage of Altroz's petrol has not been announced yet. However, it is expected to deliver a mileage of around 18-20 kmpl. Hyundai i20 The Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Toyota Glanza get a 1.2-liter petrol engine that delivers a mileage of 22.35 kmpl for manual trims and 22.95 kmpl for AMT trims. The Hyundai i20 delivers 20-21 kmpl of mileage for manual transmission trims and 20 kmpl for the IVT trims. 2025 Tata Altroz Vs Rivals: CNG Mileage Comparison The Tata Altroz facelift gets a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder CNG engine as an option. It delivers a mileage of 26.90 km/kg. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Toyota Glanza also get a 1.2-liter bi-fuel engine option, which delivers 30.61 km/kg. Meanwhile, the Hyundai i20 doesn't get a CNG engine option. 2025 Tata Altroz Vs Rivals: Diesel Mileage Comparison The Tata Altroz is the only hatchback in the Indian market to get a diesel engine option. The Maruti Suzuki Baleno and the Hyundai i20 has a diesel engine available previously, however it had to be discontinued due to emission norms. The Tata Altroz facelift gets a 1.5-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers a peak power and torque output of 90 hp and 200 Nm, respectively. The Tata Altroz facelift diesel delivers a mileage of 223.6 kmpl.
