Tata Power renewables achieves record 45,500 rooftop installations with 220 MW capacity in Q1 FY26

This marks a staggering 416% year-on-year growth compared to 8,838 installations in Q1 FY25, further strengthening its leadership in India's rooftop solar segment. With this, TPREL's nationwide total rooftop solar installations have crossed 2,04,443 systems, with a cumulative capacity exceeding 3.4 GW, making a significant contribution toward India's clean energy goals and the government's 500 GW non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030. The company continues to play a pivotal role in supporting the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana through its Ghar Ghar Solar campaign, delivering customized solar solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial segments. Tata Power Renewable Energy commissions 752 MW solar capacity in Q1 FY26, up 112% YoY
New Delhi: Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited , commissioned 752 MW of solar power projects in the first quarter of FY26, marking a 112 per cent increase from 354 MW added in the same quarter last year. With this, the company's total operational utility-scale renewable capacity stands at 5.6 GW, including 4.6 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind. TPREL also plans to commission 1.7 GW of its utility-owned capacity in FY26, in addition to 1 GW of third-party projects. The company has set a target of achieving 7.3 GW of total operational renewable capacity by the end of FY26, comprising 5.6 GW of solar and 1.7 GW of wind installations. The EPC project execution and Q1 commissioning were completed across various sites, forming part of TPREL's strategy to scale up its renewable portfolio in alignment with India's energy transition goals.

Tata Power rolls out affordable solar rooftop solutions in Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Leading rooftop solar company, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) on Tuesday announced the launch of an affordable rooftop solar solution in Odisha under its ' Ghar Ghar Solar ' campaign. The programme was launched in the presence of MD and CEO of Tata Power Dr Praveer Sinha and MD & CEO of (TPREL) Sanjay Banga, here at a function. The company in a statement said that its accessible, consumer-centric financing model makes rooftop solar affordable for a broader segment of Odisha's population. "Residents can install systems with minimal upfront investment starting from Rs 2,499 for 1 kW system," an official said. The official said it will turn solar adoption from an aspiration into an economically viable option. This first-of-its-kind initiative is set to accelerate residential rooftop solar adoption across the state by enabling customers to pay just one-third of the total amount, making solar power more accessible, affordable, and seamlessly integrated into households, the statement said. Odisha consumers gain substantial financial benefits through the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, which offers subsidies up to Rs 78,000 for solar systems up to 3 kW, covering nearly 40 per cent of the installation costs. The initiative is further strengthened through the state government's additional subsidy of Rs 25,000 for a 1 kW system and Rs 50,000 for a 2 kW system. "This financial support significantly accelerates rooftop solar adoption, making clean energy solutions accessible to households across the state," the TPREL official said. Odisha has already witnessed a remarkable surge in rooftop solar adoption, significantly driven by the growing awareness created through the 'Ghar Ghar Solar' initiative. In 2024-25 fiscal, the Company boarded 1,033 new solar rooftop customers, a tenfold increase from the 2023-24 fiscal in the state. The Commercial and Industrial segment also showed consistent growth in Odisha, with 76 consumers added in FY25, up from 56 consumers in FY24. The company said TPREL offers a comprehensive range of benefits to its solar rooftop consumers, including a 25-year warranty on modules, trusted quality assurance, exclusive sales and service in over 450+ districts, lifetime service and after-sales support across India, easy financing options, and insurance for solar rooftop systems. 'Residents can install solar systems with minimal upfront investment starting from `2,499 for 1 kW, `4,999 for 2 kW and `7,999 for 3 kW. This initiative will help households, turning solar adoption from an aspiration into an economically viable option,' said Tata Power CEO and MD Praveer Sinha. Tata Motors and Tata Power Renewable Energy Partner to Develop 131 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Project
Tata Motors, India's leading automobile manufacturer, and Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power and a frontrunner in India's clean energy transition, have signed a landmark Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to co-develop a 131 MW wind-solar hybrid renewable energy project. Set to generate approximately 300 million units of clean electricity annually, the project is expected to offset over 2 lakh tons of CO₂ emissions each year. Enabled through co-investment and a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA), this integrated wind-solar hybrid solution will provide a reliable supply of green, cost-effective energy exclusively to Tata Motors' six manufacturing facilities in Maharashtra and Gujarat, supporting the production of both commercial and passenger vehicles. This initiative significantly advances the Tata Motors' clean energy transition for achieving its RE-100 commitment ahead of the 2030 target and accelerates meaningful progress toward climate-resilient operations. It also marks a major milestone in Tata Motors' sustainability roadmap, aligning with its broader ambition to achieve net-zero emissions and lead the shift towards environmentally responsible manufacturing. Signing the PPA, Vishal Badshah, Vice President – Operations, Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors, said, "As a key driver of India's mobility and logistics ecosystem, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles is proud to lead by example in sustainable manufacturing.
