H&H Bagels is doing 'Hamilton'-themed bagels and schmear in honor of musical's 10th anniversary
New York's favorite bagel shop is officially in the 'room where it happens.' To celebrate the 10th anniversary of Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton, H&H Bagels is launching its first-ever Broadway partnership—and naturally, it's a toast to the city that birthed them both. Starting Friday, July 25, all five H&H locations will offer two limited-time menu specials inspired by the record-breaking musical. First up: the Revolutionary Lemon Poppyseed Cream Cheese, a zesty spread with enough zing to duel a plain schmear into submission. Then there's the Taylor Hamilton Egg & Cheese, a stacked bagel sandwich featuring Taylor Ham, scrambled eggs, American cheese and a kick of hot honey, a tribute to New Jersey's favorite breakfast meat and one of New York's greatest immigrant success stories. Both items will be available through Sunday, August 17, and the lemon poppyseed schmear will also ship nationwide. Consider it your edible souvenir of the $10 founding father. H&H, itself a New York institution since 1972, has seen enough drama to warrant its own off-Broadway saga, including bankruptcy battles, late-night closures and a cameo on Seinfeld. But in recent years, the brand has staged a comeback worthy of a standing ovation. With a booming wholesale business, nationwide shipping and aggressive expansion plans (including 25 new locations across the U.S.), H&H is once again riding high. As for Hamilton, the musical's legacy continues to reshape the Broadway canon and beyond. Since its 2015 debut, it's racked up 11 Tony Awards, a Pulitzer Prize, and legions of fans who can rap the entire Cabinet Battle by heart. This new collab is the perfect celebration of New York, its classics and the joy of a great bagel paired with a cultural phenomenon. New Hope-Lambertville Bridge debuts dazzling lights over the Delaware River after major renovation
The newly installed LED architectural lights on the New Hope-Lambertville Bridge made a dazzling debut Tuesday night, turning the 120-year-old structure into a vibrant spectacle over the Delaware River. "It was very cool, and we wonder why they picked those colors," said 9-year-old Alana. "They were blue, green, red. My favorite part was walking with the band." It was more than just a light show, it was a celebration for the bridge that connects New Hope, Pennsylvania, and Lambertville, New Jersey. The South Philadelphia String Band led a spirited procession across the bridge as the colors reflected off the water. Mayors and state officials from both sides of the river thanked residents for their patience during the toll-supported bridge's major renovation, which began in January . "We are very, very fortunate the progress of the renovation was pretty much as scheduled," said Laurence Keller, mayor of New Hope Borough. The bridge fully reopened to drivers and pedestrians in February, freshly repainted and repaired. "How essential these structures are for interstate commerce and the free flow of goods. They bring Jersey blueberries, peaches, and Taylor Ham or Pork Roll into Pennsylvania. And Hershey bars and Eagles fans into New Jersey," said Fran O'Connor, commissioner of New Jersey Department of Transportation. To officially commemorate the completed project, a plaque was unveiled, honoring history and highlighting a bright new chapter.
