In a move to promote motorcycle culture in India, the leading manufacturer Royal Enfield has finally flagged off its yearly bike ride called Himalayan Odyssey 2025. This year, the company has added extra adventure to its 18-day motorcycling journey, which has already started from Chandigarh. Spiti, Zanskar and Ladakh. What's The Need? The sole purpose of the initiative is to offer lucky petrolheads across the globe to have an unforgettable motorcycle experience and test its hot-selling product Himalayan, under extreme conditions. The company started the registration a few months back, giving the chance to the interested ones to be a part of this unforgettable journey. According to the brand, this year, the ride has been consistent not only among Indians but people across worldwide, including Argentina, the US, Brazil, Germany, South Korea and more. Route and Plan To make the ride more convenient and comfortable, the company has divided these riders into two groups and named them Team Spiti and Team Zanskar. Each team has been directed to cover top locations of the Himalayas such as Narkanda, Kalpa and Kaza, Keylong, Leh, Hanle and Umling La before returning by way of Padum, Jispa and Manali. This is not the first time such an event has been organised by the RE. Every year, the homegrown bike maker organises such events to celebrate the spirit of the biking culture. Royal Enfield has officially opened registrations for the 21st edition of its motorcycling expedition — Himalayan Odyssey 2025. The event is set to begin on June 28, taking 70 riders through some of the most breathtaking and challenging terrains of the Indian Himalayas, including Ladakh, Spiti, and Zanskar, culminating in a ride across Umling La — the highest motorable pass in the 18 days and 2,600 kilometers, the Himalayan Odyssey is considered a rite of passage for motorcycle and adventure enthusiasts. Riders from across the globe will participate, embarking on a journey of both physical endurance and expedition offers two distinct routes — Team Zanskar and Team Spiti — each designed to test the limits of riders on scenic but rugged trails, water crossings, high-altitude passes, and tarmac twisties. This year's route includes culturally rich destinations such as Padum in Zanskar, starry-skied Sarchu, and Kaza in Spiti — home to Komic, the highest village in Asia. Riders are encouraged to be conscious travellers, preserving the local ecosystem and communities they encounter. One example is Camp Kharu, a green pitstop that champions sustainable conservation continues to be a major focus.
