Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio Producing Ted Griffin's Action Thriller CARTHAGE MUST BE DESTROYED — GeekTyrant
Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio are jumping on board a new film project as producers. It's titled Carthage Must Be Destroyed , a new action thriller helmed by Ocean's Eleven writer Ted Griffin. Griffin, known for sharp scripts and layered storytelling, is directing from his own screenplay. The story centers on 'a stranger happens upon a rust-belt city in decline, ruled by its criminal underworld. Using brain and brawn, he sows distrust and creates chaos, in order to dismantle the corrupt power structure.' Chad A. Verdi of Verdi Productions, who's helping to lead the charge on this project, described it as 'a dynamic project' and added: 'It's a pleasure to be collaborating with Marty, Leo, Jen, Gareth and Chris, and our extraordinary producing team will elevate this project to new heights.' Production is currently slated to begin this October in Rhode Island, with casting now underway. Financing is being handled by Verdi Productions and Ketchup Entertainment, with Sikelia Productions (Scorsese), Appian Way (DiCaprio), and LBI Entertainment also backing the project. Executive producers include Scorsese, DiCaprio, Lisa Frechette, Sera Verdi, and Jennifer Davisson. On the production side, you'll also find Verdi, Gareth West, Christopher Donnelly, Michelle Verdi, Chad Verdi Jr., and Paul Luba—making this a seriously packed team behind the scenes. Hugh Jackman waves down stranger to flee terrifying fan frenzy
A desperate hopped into a random stranger's car to escape a throng of screaming fans in New York City this week. The 56-year-old was seen emerging from Radio City Music Hall, where he will play his From New York With Love concert on Friday. He was immediately confronted by crowd of admirers shrieking with delight and asking for autographs, and he amiably complied, grinning and chatting with them. Eventually Hugh said: 'Thank you,' and extricated himself from the mass of people before walking briskly down the sidewalk in an apparent attempt to make a quick exit. However, the actor was unable to avoid the overenthusiastic admirers who continued scampering up to him and demanding photos, which he agreed to take, though his smile began to tighten and he kept walking as he posed. In the end, his only way out was to wave down a strange man's car and say: 'How you doing, brother? Where you going?,' before sliding rapidly into the backseat. On the personal front, a source claimed earlier this year that Hugh hopes to marry his girlfriend and former Broadway co-star Sutton Foster, 50. Sutton and Hugh starred in the Broadway revival of The Music Man together throughout 2022, and were rumored to have conducted an extramarital affair that led to his split from his wife Deborra-Lee Furness in September 2023. Meanwhile Sutton filed for divorce from her husband, Ocean's Eleven screenwriter Ted Griffin, in October 2024 after 10 years of marriage. Last month, after officially filing for divorce, Deborra-Lee gave an exclusive statement to in which she took an wipe at her estranged husband. She said: 'My heart and compassion goes out to everyone who has traversed the traumatic journey of betrayal,' she said. 'It's a profound wound that cuts deep, however I believe in a higher power and that God/the universe, whatever you relate to as your guidance, is always working FOR us. 'This belief has helped me navigate the breakdown of an almost three-decade marriage. I have gained much knowledge and wisdom through this experience. Even when we are presented with apparent adversity, it is leading us to our greatest good, our true purpose. Deborra-Lee noted that the 'one thing' she learned was 'that none of this is personal' and that 'We are all on our individual journeys and I believe that the relationships in our lives are not random.' Deborra-Lee concluded: 'We are drawn to people, we invite them in, in order to learn our lessons and to recognize and heal the broken parts of ourselves...I remain grateful.' Sutton and Hugh went public with their romance in January, and it has since been claimed that he intends to marry her once his divorce is finalized. Speaking to Sky News an insider said: 'Hugh had a lot of back and forth while he was in Australia for the holidays but ultimately, he realized how much he missed her. 'The magic came flooding back when they reunited and ultimately marriage is the end game for these two. Hugh is clear he wants to make Sutton his wife.' Deborra-Lee and Hugh met in 1995 on the Australian television series Corelli, and he proposed four months later, marrying her in 1996 and welcoming two children with her, their son Oscar, 25, and their daughter Ava, 19.

Instead, they'll be producing an exciting new action thriller called Carthage Must Be Destroyed. The film will be directed by Ted Griffin, who is best known for writing Ocean's Eleven. The story follows a mysterious stranger who arrives in a rundown city that's controlled by criminals. Using his brains and strength, he begins to stir up trouble, turning people against each other to take down the corrupt leaders who run the place. It's expected to be a fast-paced, clever film with a dark, gritty setting. Filming is planned to begin in Rhode Island this October, and the team is currently looking for actors to bring the story to life. Although the cast hasn't been revealed yet, with such a strong production team behind it, fans are expecting big names to be involved. Scorsese and DiCaprio are executive producers; Verdi, West, Donnelly, Michelle Verdi, Chad Verdi Jr., Paul Luba, and Jennifer Davisson are producers. Lisa Frechette and Sera Verdi are also executive producers. The documentary foreshadowed the director's next project, the epic Gangs of New York (2002), which was influenced by (among many others) major Italian directors such as Luchino Visconti and filmed entirely at Rome's famous Cinecitta film studios. The duo then worked on the 2004 biopic The Aviator, with DiCaprio starring as aviation pioneer and filmmaker Howard Hughes.
