Chandigarh: Haryana chief minister Nayab Singh Saini is set to make several significant announcements for women during the state-level 'Teej Samaroh', scheduled to be held in Ambala on July 28.
On Wednesday, Saini reviewed the preparations for 'Teej Samaroh' and issued directions to the officials concerned to ensure successful organisation of the event. Thousands of women across the state are likely to participate in the samaroh.
The CM will launch various initiatives related to the panchayats department, Haryana State Rural Livelihood Mission, Drone Imaging and Information Service of Haryana Limited, women and child development department, micro small and medium enterprises, industries and commerce department, art and culture department, State Urban Livelihood Mission, and the urban local bodies department, said an official spokesperson.
These initiatives are aimed at empowering women and further strengthening their socio-economic status, the spokesperson added.
The CM said the state govt was committed to the empowerment of women by promoting their self-reliance and has implemented several schemes and programmes towards this goal.
He said self-help group (SHG) members would be trained in drone operation through the Drone Imaging and Information Services of Haryana in a phased manner.
Additionally, to provide the SHGs with a platform to sell their products, Sanjha Bazaars are being established across the state. These markets have already started in Karnal, Rohtak, and Fatehabad districts, and are set to open soon in Jind and Rewari, said Saini.
The CM said Sanjha Bazaars would be rolled out in all 22 districts of Haryana in a phased manner. A total of 9,640 SHGs have been formed under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Urban Livelihoods Mission in the state.
