TG caste survey ‘visionary': Rahul
Hyderabad: Close on the heels of Congress leader Sonia Gandhi's letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy hailing the Telangana government's Socio-Economic Caste Survey, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Friday praised the Telangana Model survey as 'visionary, inclusive, and powered by 21st-century data. It is Social Justice 2.0 and it will define how India moves forward.' In his tweet on Friday, Rahul posted: 'Soniaji's fight to create the state of Telangana cemented our deep emotional connection to the people, the language and the culture of this beautiful state. I am filled with immense pride as I witness the remarkable efforts of the Congress government in conducting the Socio-Economic Caste Survey. Their commitment to a sincere, inclusive, and consultative process has set a new benchmark - one that should guide future Census exercises across the country. Based on the survey, the Telangana Government has taken a historic step in recommending 42 oerp OBC reservation in local body elections and educational institutions. The bill now awaits assent from the Hon'ble President. The Telangana Model is visionary, inclusive, and powered by 21st-century data. It is Social Justice 2.0 and it will define how India moves forward.' On Thursday, when Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a presentation of the caste survey in Delhi, Rahul Gandhi said: 'When I first asked Revanth Reddy to conduct a caste survey in Telangana, I had my doubts. But they have exceeded my expectations. This is a milestone for social justice in the country,' Rahul said, adding that no other state in the country except Telangana got the opportunity to achieve targeted development based on the survey data. An enthused Chief Minister, calling the survey a 'RARE 'model, recalled that he was emotional and overjoyed when he received an appreciation letter from Sonia Gandhi. The Chief Minister remarked: 'The letter is worth a Nobel prize, Oscar and a lifetime achievement award', adding it would remain special for him, irrespective of whether he held a position or not in the future.

Revanth pushes for 42% BC quota
Urges Congress MPs to take forward the BC quota 'battle' CM explains caste survey modalities via PPT to Rahul, Kharge 'Exceeded expectations': Rahul, Kharge hail TG caste survey Cong high command backs Telangana model of social justice Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy urged Congress party MPs to take forward the 'battle' to achieve 42 per cent reservation for backward classes (BCs) in Telangana, which would set the 'benchmark' for the entire country. He urged Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, the Leaders of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, respectively, to lead the battle in both Houses, while Telangana's Congress leaders would build the momentum at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. While giving his power-point presentation in Delhi on the caste survey taken up by the Congress government in Telangana to party MPs, including Rahul, Kharge and Wayanad MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the CM explained how the state government had made 'meticulous efforts' to complete the task within 60 days. Reiterating that the survey would be a 'roadmap' for the nation, he said the survey could be called 'RaRe model'. 'If anyone has an issue calling it as the Telangana Model of caste census, we can call it 'RaRe model', the Chief Minister said. While showing the letter of appreciation from Sonia Gandhi, the chairperson of Congress Parliamentary Pawrty, the CM described it as a lifetime achievement award. 'A letter of appreciation from Sonia Gandhi is an Oscar Award, Nobel Prize and lifetime achievement for me,' he said, to the applause from fellow partymen. With the achievement of the state government's SEEEPC (Social, Education, Employment, Economic, Political, Caste) survey in Telangana, Revanth Reddy felt that the Congress had placed a massive challenge before Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). 'We would have unseated Modiji if the Centre failed to incorporate caste enumeration in the upcoming census. This is the success of Rahul Gandhi, similar to successful withdrawal of farm laws. Modi not only withdrew the three farm laws, but also apologised,' Revanth recalled. The Chief Minister dared anyone to challenge the survey conducted by the Telangana government. '88 crore pages of data are with me now. This is 100 per cent foolproof data which was self-declared by people, and I dare anyone to challenge this,' he stated. Citing the examples of how only few households opted out of the survey, Revanth Reddy said that BRS leaders K Chandrashekar Rao, his son K T Rama Rao and nephew T Harish Rao decided to not to become part of the survey and hence remained 'unaccounted for' in Telangana. 'Since they failed to become a part of the process, they remained unaccounted for,' he said. Rahul, Priyanka laud Revanth Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi lauded the efforts of Revanth Reddy. 'Revanth Reddy and other party leaders exceeded my expectations; they not only did the caste census but did so exceptionally well and in the right spirit. I can say with certainty that the level of competence they have demonstrated is a milestone for social justice in the country. It will set the standard for a nationwide caste census, regardless of whether the BJP likes it or not,' Rahul said, during his address. Priyanka Gandhi said, 'Very proud of you for this achievement and even more for having the political courage to do it.'

Bhatti cries foul over BJP's stance on TG caste survey
Hyderabad: Refuting the accusations of BJP State president N Ramchander Rao that the Telangana's caste survey was unscientific and flawed, the Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka reiterated that the survey was conducted adhering to scientific standards and with proper planning. Condemning the BJP's criticism, he called it disruptive politics aimed at obstructing positive social change. Deputy CM who was briefing to media on the recently conducted Socio-Economic Caste Survey by the State Government at Secretariat expressed his anguish after the Telangana BJP reportedly criticised the implementation of the survey. He elaborated on the chronology of events leading up to the survey, underlining the transparent scientific approach adopted by the government. He stated that the 'Telangana Model' of caste-based socio-economic data collection is now drawing nationwide attention and appreciation for its inclusive and data-driven methodology. Bhatti Vikramarka attributed the conceptual foundation of the survey to Congress leader Shri Rahul Gandhi. He said that it was Rahul Gandhi's idea to initiate such a survey in Telangana, and this has now had a ripple effect at the national level, prompting the Union Government to consider including caste-related data in the upcoming national census. The Deputy Chief Minister also informed the media that a high-level delegation, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and comprising key ministers including himself, will visit New Delhi on July 24. The delegation aims to brief the Congress central leadership on the modalities and execution of the caste survey in Telangana. In addition, the delegation will meet Members of Parliament across party lines to garner support for the proposed legislation that would enable the inclusion of caste data in the national census. The State Government is committed to championing the cause of social justice and equitable development through informed policymaking based on comprehensive data, he added.

BC reservations are historic, says Cong leader
Hyderabad: Sircilla district Congress leader Nevuri Venkat Reddy stated that the ordinance to be issued by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's government, providing 42% reservations for Backward Classes (BCs) in local bodies, will go down in history. He addressed the media on Wednesday at the MLA Colony, Road No. 12, Banjara Hills. He said that despite the good work being done by CM Revanth Reddy, opposition leaders are resorting to protests and demonstrations, which should now come to an end. He remarked that although many governments have come and gone in the past, none could determine the exact population of BCs. However, under the initiative of CM Revanth Reddy and PCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud, a comprehensive BC caste census was completed, as per the directive of Rahul Gandhi. With this census completed, the entire country is now looking towards the 'Telangana Model,' he said. He further mentioned that with 42% reservations in local body elections, the BC community would be indebted to the Congress government and that it would open up significant political opportunities for them. He criticized the opposition parties for spreading misinformation and said that the BRS party, which was in power for ten years and did nothing for the BCs, is now engaging in new dramas in the name of protests and agitations. He concluded by stating that ever since the Congress party came to power, many beneficial schemes have been implemented for the poor — such as free electricity, Rythu Bharosa (Farmer Support), Mahalakshmi Scheme, subsidized gas, and fine rice distribution — and that these schemes are being well-received by the public.
