Ramchander Rao lashes out at Revanth over his ‘converted BC' remarks on Modi
Hyderabad: Mounting a vitriolic attack on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, the Telangana State BJP chief N Ramachander Rao questioned how Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, with a Parsi grandfather and a Catholic mother, could claim to be a 'Janudhari Brahmin' while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is labeled a 'converted BC'? In a chit chat with the media on Friday, Ramachandra Rao claimed that the Telangana Chief Minister might be under the illusion of having invented a new category, referring to 'converted BC.' He criticized the Congress party for being willing to stoop to any low for the sake of power, emphasizing the need for civilized political discourse. Rao noted that Modi's community was included in the list of OBCs by the Gujarat State BC Commission long before Modi entered politics. Various communities have been recognized by their respective State BC Commissions over the years. According to him, the Chief Minister's rhetoric constitutes not only a personal attack on Modi but also an insult to everyone included in the BC category, exposing the Congress party's anti-Backward Classes mindset. Ramachander Rao highlighted that the BJP supports the state government's policy of 42 percent reservations for BCs, but the responsibility for its implementation lies with the Congress-led government in Telangana. He listed several cases related to the Supreme Court's 50 percent reservations cap, indicating that incorporating this cap under Schedule IX is subject to judicial review. He also mentioned that the BJP opposes religion-based reservations, clarifying that the party is not against Muslims. He pointed out that Muslims have already been provided reservations under the BC-E and EWS (Economically Weaker Sections) categories. Besides, Congress seeks to provide an additional 10 percent reservation for Muslims across the community. Rao reminded that it was during the BJP-led NDA government that separate SC and ST Commissions and Ministries were created at the national level. Furthermore, it was the BJP government under PM Modi that granted constitutional status to the OBC Commission. He highlighted that the BJP has an OBC Morcha, has appointed a BC Prime Minister, and has given more opportunities to BCs, SCs, STs, and minorities than the Congress party. Regarding Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's support for former Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatraya for the Vice President position, Ramachandra Rao dared the Chief Minister to step down and appoint Minister Ponnam Prabhakar or the Pradesh Congress chief as the Chief Minister to prove his and his party's commitment to BC interests. Ramachander Rao announced that a new state party committee would be formed in the next week. He urged leaders and party workers to work diligently to strengthen the BJP and to focus on the mission of bringing the party to power in Telangana. In response to a question, he stated that the national party would address any differences among party leaders privately, emphasizing that the BJP is like a family and that it is better to resolve issues internally rather than airing grievances in public.

Give saffron party a chance to fulfill your aspirations: BJP chief
Medak: Telangana State BJP President N. Ramchander Rao on Friday appealed to the people to give the committed party an opportunity to meet the aspirations of the poor and downtrodden. Addressing a large gathering of party workers in Medak, the BJP chief remarked that citizens have experienced the rule of the BRS and the Congress party and have had bitter experiences with the deceitful practices of both. He urged people to support the BJP wholeheartedly in the upcoming local body elections as a way to teach the ruling Congress party a lesson for its unfulfilled promises. Rao emphasized that the BJP never forgets the promises made to the people and works diligently to fulfill their aspirations. He noted that the party has successfully expanded its presence from urban areas to villages, further strengthening its base in the state, with a membership of 40 lakh workers. He expressed confidence that the people of Telangana have faith in the BJP and hoped they would give the party a chance to serve them in the next assembly elections. Criticizing the performance of the Revanth Reddy government, Rao stated that development works have come to a standstill, while CM Revanth Reddy is preoccupied with visits to Delhi. He accused the Congress party of ignoring the welfare of the people, including farmers and students, and of capturing power with six guarantees and 420 promises that remain unfulfilled. Rao alleged that the state Congress government is again attempting to deceive the public with its promise of 42 percent reservation for BCs. He mentioned that the BJP opposes religion-based reservations. While the party supports reservations, he criticized the proposal of granting a 10 percent reservation to Muslims, arguing that it would harm the genuine BC community. He provided an example where, of the 50 GHMC councillor seats, 35 were allocated to Muslims, thereby depriving true BCs such as Yadavs and Gouds. He called upon party workers to unite and work hard for the party's victory in the upcoming local body and assembly elections, aiming to help the BJP capture power and better serve the people. During the gathering, Medak MP Raghunandan Rao highlighted that the workers are the strength of the party and expressed hope that the next meeting would be held in Medak again, chaired by the party president, with the attendance of 10 sarpanches and 10 MPTC members from each mandal, along with a Medak Zilla Parishad chairman, following their victory in the ensuing local body eletions.. Over a dozen district leaders pledged to work diligently for BJP's success in the upcoming elections, including MLC Anji Reddy, Medak District President Mallesh, Siddipet District Party President B. Shankar, Sangareddy District President Smt. Godavari, and Medak Town President Prasad. Earlier, before arriving at the workers' meeting, Ramchander Rao visited local temples. After completing his first tour of Nalgonda and Suryapet districts, he undertook a visit to Medak district. Upon arriving in Narsapur as part of his Medak district tour, State Party Chief Ramchander Rao received a warm welcome from Medak MP M. Raghunandan Rao, District Party President Mallesh, district leaders, and numerous party workers. A procession was held in his honor, where party activists used a JCB to create a massive garland (Gaja Mala) to welcome the party leader on his first visit to the district since taking over as party chief. On his way to Medak, Ramchander Rao worshipped at the Yedupalaya goddess temple.

Intellectuals urged to lead BJP's push for power in Telangana
Hyderabad: Telangana State BJP President N. Ramchander Rao called on intellectuals to play a pivotal role in shaping political change, urging them to help bring the BJP into power in the next state assembly elections. Addressing a gathering of intellectuals in Kodad on the second day of his tour through the Nalgonda and Suryapet districts, on Tuesday, Rao emphasized the importance of leveraging experience, scholarship, and social engagement to build political momentum for a 'Viksit Telangana.' Rao asserted that intellectuals possess the moral and analytical clarity needed to inform the public, raise awareness, and counter misinformation. He encouraged members of the Intellectuals Forum to actively educate citizens on policy issues and governance, and to foster informed democratic participation in favor of the BJP. In a scathing critique of the Congress-led state government, Rao accused Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy of failing to deliver on electoral promises even after 18 months in office. He cited the party's much-publicized 'nine guarantees' as impractical and misleading, adding that the promises had deepened public debt and eroded trust. Rao also highlighted the sluggish pace of investigations into alleged corruption and financial irregularities involving leaders of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Suggesting a possible understanding between Congress and BRS, he claimed the investigative inertia pointed to political collusion. Celebrating national accomplishments, Rao praised the 11-year tenure of the Narendra Modi-led central government, stating that India has seen unprecedented development across all sectors. He credited the government's 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' mission for uplifting marginalized communities and transforming India into a rising global power. The efficient delivery of basic services and infrastructure development were highlighted as key achievements of the BJP's governance model. On the second day of his two-district tour, Rao began with a visit to a temple in his native village, Nallabandagudem, followed by a trip to Saibaba temple before reaching Kodad. He was received with enthusiasm by farmers, members of the BJP Kisan Morcha, and party cadres. The warm reception featured chants, garlands, and spirited participation from local leaders and supporters. During the visit, Rao also paid tribute to Telangana statehood martyr Srikanth Chari by garlanding his statue, underscoring the party's continued reverence for those who laid down their lives and stood as the foundation for state formation. He reiterated the BJP's commitment to honor the sacrifices made during the Telangana movement. The visit and meeting concluded with the new BJP state reiterating that the party's line of intellectual engagement is central to political renewal. With an eye on the future, Rao urged thoughtful participation and civic responsibility to support the BJP's goal of establishing development-focused, accountable governance in Telangana during this two-day visit.
