Hari Hara Veera Mallu box office collection Day 4: Pawan Kalyan's film surpasses Thandel's domestic total despite poor reviews, nears Nani's HIT with Rs 75.65 cr

Hari Hara Veera Mallu box office collection Day 4: Actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan returned to the big screen after a gap of two years with Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1. The highly anticipated film opened at the box office with good numbers. However, since its first day, the film has witnessed a fall in its collections. According to Sacnilk, it raked in Rs 11 crore on Sunday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 75.65 crore. Hari Hara Veera Mallu began its box office journey by earning Rs 34.75 crore on its opening day. Pawan Kalyan's Telugu fanbase remained the biggest draw for the film, as it earned the majority of its opening day revenue from Telugu-speaking states — Rs 34.65 crore to be exact. The film collected negligible amounts from other language versions. From its Hindi and Kannada versions, it earned just Rs 1 lakh each, while the Tamil and Malayalam versions earned Rs 3 lakh and Rs 5 lakh, respectively, on day one. The film witnessed a 76 percent drop in its collections on Friday, earning Rs 8 crore. This was followed by a slight uptick over the weekend — Rs 9.15 crore on Saturday and Rs 11 crore on Sunday. On Sunday, the Pawan Kalyan-starrer recorded an overall 36.14% occupancy in the Telugu market, with maximum footfall during afternoon and evening shows. Hari Hara Veera Mallu has surpassed the performance of Pawan Kalyan's last film Bro, which had earned Rs 67.85 crore within four days of release—less than Hari Hara Veera Mallu's current domestic total of Rs 75.65 crore. Despite the steep decline in daily collections, Hari Hara Veera Mallu has managed to climb to the 7th spot among the highest-grossing Telugu films. It has overtaken the total domestic collection of Sai Pallavi and Naga Chaitanya's Thandel, which stood at Rs 65.49 crore. The film is now just Rs 5 crore short of surpassing the total domestic collection of Nani's HIT: The Third Case, which earned Rs 80.75 crore. Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi and A M Jyothi Krishna, Hari Hara Veera Mallu features a screenplay by Jagarlamudi and Sai Madhav Burra. The film stars Pawan Kalyan in the titular role, alongside Bobby Deol, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Sathyaraj in key roles.

According to data from box office analytics site Sacnilk, the historical action drama pulled in an astounding ₹43 crore on its debut day. The film, which faced numerous delays and production issues before its release, still managed to draw huge crowds, particularly across the Telugu-speaking regions. As per early tracking reports, the movie earned ₹31.50 crore on Thursday in India across all language versions. This amount was added to the ₹12.7 crore generated from paid preview screenings held the day before, bringing the total day-one haul to ₹44.20 crore—a substantial launch by industry standards. Strong Regional Turnout and Occupancy Patterns The Telugu version experienced robust attendance with an average occupancy rate of 57.39% on the opening day. Cities like Vijayawada and Hyderabad saw even better responses, recording viewer turnout rates of 77% and 66.75% respectively. On the other hand, other language versions did not perform as strongly—Hindi screenings saw 12.43% occupancy, while Kannada and Tamil versions followed with 9.96% and 8.24%, respectively. A Period Adventure Packed With Twists Set during the mid-17th century, Hari Hara Veera Mallu is a sprawling period adventure helmed by director Krish Jagarlamudi and penned alongside Sai Madhav Burra. But this mission holds more than just royal treasures—it unravels hidden motives, secrets from Veera's past, and the true identity of Panchami. As events unfold, deeper questions surrounding Veera's history and his connection to Aurangzeb slowly emerge, giving the film its dramatic edge.

ETimes gave the film a rating of 2.5 stars out of 5 and our review reads, "Hari Hara Veera Mallu might appeal to Pawan Kalyan's core fanbase and those drawn to visually grand period dramas with action and mythic flair. For most viewers, however, it may feel like a missed opportunity — a film rich in ambition but short on cohesion. Hari Hara Veera Mallu: Part 1 – Sword vs Spirit rides on Pawan Kalyan's charisma and MM Keeravaani's compelling score, but falters in storytelling, visual polish, and emotional depth. It is an ambitious spectacle that only occasionally lives up to its potential." With a runtime nearing three hours and expectations sky-high, it remains to be seen whether 'Hari Hara Veera Mallu' can maintain its momentum beyond the opening weekend. The film also has Nidhhi Agerwal, Bobby Deol, Nargis Fakhri, Nora Fatehi, and others in pivotal roles.
