TV host reflects on journalist Terry Gallaway after sad passing
Sky News host Caroline Marcus reacts to the passing of journalist Terry Gallaway, remembering him as a 'warm and kind colleague'.
'As a 10-year-old, Terry hand-wrote his own newspapers before landing an apprenticeship at the Townsville Daily Bulletin aged 15,' Ms Marcus said.
'He worked across newspapers, radio and television, and was at Sky News for more than 23 years, including as chief sub-editor.
"In 2022, he received the Order of Australia for his contribution to broadcast news media.
'On a personal level, he was always a warm and kind colleague, even on our many 4am shifts together, a generous mentor to the younger journalists around him.'
