Tesla CEO Elon Musk has shared his appreciation for an upcoming diner and electric vehicle (EV) charging station, which is currently under development in Los Angeles. This facility, located on Santa Monica Boulevard , has not yet opened to the public. In a recent post shared on the social media platform X, Musk shared his experience at Tesla Diner and even praised the team behind it. The post has also generated considerable excitement and interest among social media users, with many inquiring about its menu and official opening date. The concept of a Tesla diner has been in development for several years now. Musk first mentioned the company's plans for an "old school drive-in, roller skates & rock restaurant at one of the new Tesla Supercharger locations in LA" back in 2018. What Elon Musk said about his Tesla Diner experience Replying to a post about a user noticing an Optimus robot inside the Tesla Diner, Musk wrote: 'I just had dinner at the retro-futuristic @Tesla diner and Supercharger. Team did great work making it one of the coolest spots in LA!' His reply came to a post which said: 'There's an Optimus inside the Tesla Diner!' What users can expect while visiting the Tesla Diner According to a report by the New York Post, the Tesla Diner is expected to feature several EV charging stations and two outdoor movie screens alongside its main attraction—a restaurant. The report also shared photos from earlier this month that showed the sleek, futuristic two-story structure, which includes an open-air space on the upper level. As per the report, construction on the project began in the fall of 2023. By the end of the first quarter, Tesla announced it had more than 7,100 Supercharger stations globally, featuring over 67,300 Supercharger connectors. Tesla Diner In Hollywood Is Powered Up, Ready To Go

Tesla Diner sign. HED: Tesla Diner Is Almost Unlocked And Loaded, Ready To Go The Tesla Diner is still locked but is loaded with Cybertrucks and Model Ys – and by all appearances is almost ready to open. I stopped by the location at 7001 Santa Monica Blvd several times over the weekend of July 11. Most recently on Sunday July 13. It's teaming with activity inside. The fences were back up after they were briefly taken down. Workers appear to be putting the final touches on the diner such as window cleaning. Tesla Diner. The side along N, Orange Dr. with V4 Superchargers. Tesla Diner charging space facing Santa Monica Blvd, with V4 Superchargers. Tesla Diner first floor. Over the weekend of July 11, there were roughly a dozen people sitting at the tables both inside and outside the diner working on laptops. As though they were doing a test run. I initially thought they might be a select group of patrons given early access but was told that wasn't the case. Over the weekend, the two massive movie screens were looping (repeatedly) classic American movies such as American Graffiti and 2001: A Space Odyssey. The Diner has 75 V4 Supercharger stalls. Many of them were occupied with Cybertrucks and Model Ys. In addition to the main areas that face two massive screens, there appears to be additional charging in a separate space in the back. In North America, V4 Superchargers can charge up to 250 kW for Model S, Model 3, Model X and Model Y vehicles, according to Tesla's Supercharger page. Cybertruck vehicles have the ability to charge up to 325 kW only at V4 Superchargers. The Diner The Diner – a two-story, saucer-style, stainless steel structure – is expected to be open 24 hours and feature rooftop seating with a bar in addition to the first-floor area. Eric Greenspan, an LA-based chef, will run the diner. The diner is a prototype for a new wave of high-end Tesla charging stations.

L.A. chef picked to run Tesla diner in Hollywood

The Tesla diner slated to open in Hollywood will be run by Eric Greenspan, a longtime Los Angeles chef, a Tesla investor announced this week. Greenspan will be the chef de cuisine at the new diner set to open on Santa Monica Boulevard, which will feature a drive-in movie theater and 75 V4 Supercharger stalls, according to a post on X by Sawyer Merritt, a self-identified Tesla investor. Greenspan declined to comment or confirm his involvement in the project, telling The Times, 'I'm not sure there's that much to talk about." But Tesla's Elon Musk seemed to confirm the hiring, responding to Merritt on X: 'It will be cool.' Greenspan, a Le Cordon Bleu alum and Patina veteran, launched into L.A.'s culinary scene with his Californian-French restaurant the Foundry in 2007. He went on to open multiple restaurants and eventually founded Alt/Grub/Faction, a collection of ghost kitchens, or restaurants-in-name-only that deliver food to an online clientele. He also developed New School American Cheese, a product that's currently served on burgers and sandwiches across Los Angeles. 'Greenspan is a charismatic man, with a big, low-slung presence and a loud personality that can distract you (is it a diversionary tactic?) from his considerable intelligence,' wrote Amy Scattergood, former editor of the L.A. Times Food section. Greenspan frequently serves as a restaurant consultant, lending culinary acumen to projects such as the Weight Watchers cafe and Mr. Beast Burger. Whether Greenspan will serve as the Tesla Diner's head chef or a consultant — simply advising aspects of the menu — is yet to be seen. Chait helped mold the city's dinescape through his operations of Bestia, République, the Rose and others via Sprout Restaurant Group, which he left in 2015. More recently Chait has had a hand in Fanny's at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, Tartine, the since-shuttered Zozo La Brea, and new Chinatown restaurant First Born. Chait and Greenspan aren't alone in making news this week related to the Tesla Diner. In a separate article by the New York Times, which interviewed L.A. chefs about the project, République chef-owner Walter Manzke said it 'sounds exciting' and noted that his wife — République co-owner and James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Margarita Manzke — agrees. 'She told me the other day that she wants to buy a Tesla, so I can tell you what side she's on,' Manzke said. The Manzkes faced immediate backlash, and in a since-deleted Instagram post, wrote that the statement was never meant to be political.
