Tampa Bay Buccaneers wideout Mike Evans has been underestimated throughout his entire pro career. All he's done is exceed expectations each and every campaign since being drafted by the Bucs. Advertisement Even after missing three games last season with a hamstring issue, Evans continued his record streak of 11 straight seasons with at least 1,000 yards receiving. This season, while many may be once again undervaluing his season at the age of 30, he's expected to excel in your fantasy football league. Derek Brown of Fantasy Pros thinks Evans will once again surpass expectations in your fantasy league. "Mike Evans has finished no lower than WR13 in fantasy points per game over the last four years, and he didn't show any signs of slowing down last year," Brown wrote. "While he has dealt with hamstring issues in each of the last three years, he has never played less than 14 games in any season. Last year, Evans ranked 23rd in target share, fifth in yards per route run, 16th in receiving yards per game, fourth in route win rate, and second in separation (per Fantasy Points Data). Evans is primed to produce as a WR1 again in 2025." Advertisement Evans has tallied at least 11 touchdowns in four of the past five years while finding the end zone 57 times during that period. The former Texas A&M Aggies pass catcher has never caught less than 70 passes in a season and has been targeted at least 110 times in 10 of the last 11 years. The last time he averaged less than 14 yards per catch was in 2016. You can continue to underestimate Evans' value in your fantasy league, but it'll be your own fault if you don't draft him early. What is Texas A&M football's overall raking in EA Sports College Football 26?
With mixed reviews from college football fans across the country, EA Sports College Football 26 officially dropped the top 25 overall teams in the video game that drops on July 10. Among those top-rated teams in this year's edition was the Texas A&M Aggies, who are the No. 8 program in the game with a team ranking of 88 overall. The school ranks as the fourth-best overall team in the Southeastern Conference, with Alabama ranked No. 1, Texas at No. 2, and Georgia at No. 6 in the official ratings before the 2025-2026 campaign begins. Advertisement While Aggie fans are tired of seeing the team ranked high each preseason, resulting in disappointing results, the 2025 preseason just feels different. While EA Sports provided overalls for each program in the top 25, the company released the best offensive and defensive units in this year's edition. Texas A&M ranks at No. 12 in both categories with a 90 overall defense and an 89 overall offense. Here is the full list of team overalls in the 2026 edition: Team Overalls Much to the chagrin of Aggie fans, the rankings also faced much backlash from fans in the replies of the official drop, specifically regarding the game's top 10 teams. The Crimson Tide ranked as the best overall team is extremely generous considering the program did not reach the College Football Playoff last year and head coach Kalen DeBoer is in just his second season at the helm, with many questions about who will step up at the quarterback position. Advertisement As you can imagine, those same feelings toward Alabama were made against the Aggies being at No. 8 on this list, after finishing the season with a loss in the Las Vegas Bowl to the USC Trojans. The ratings in the game will be adjusted accordingly to how the season progresses, however. With potentially one of the best running back rooms in the country featuring a healthy Le'Veon Moss, Rueben Owens and Amari Daniels, sophomore quarterback Marcel Reed and wideouts like NC State transfer KC Concepcion, the Aggies' offense could lead this team to become one of the best in the SEC this season. The 89 overall ranking is justifiable, but the concerns on defense leave me with questions on how EA Sports formulated the rankings. Regardless, the EA Sports College Football 26 video game will release in 13 days on Xbox and PlayStation. The standard edition is $69.99, with the deluxe and MVP editions costing $99.99 and $149.99, respectively. Dylan Rock does not hit home run in 9th consecutive game, falling short of pro baseball record
Dylan Rock fell short of setting a professional baseball record on Friday night, going without hitting a home run in his ninth consecutive game. The outfielder had one last chance in the ninth inning to hit a record home run, but hit a grounder back to the pitcher for an out. He batted 0-for-3 with an RBI, walk and strikeout in the Lexington Legends' 8-7 defeat versus the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs in the independent Atlantic League. Advertisement Rock became the fifth player in pro baseball history to hit a home run in eight consecutive games during Thursday's 11-10 loss to the Charleston Dirty Birds, going deep in the first inning off pitcher David LeBron. His streak began on June 18 versus the Gastonia Ghost Peppers. Three players have hit eight consecutive home runs in MLB history: Ken Griffey Jr. with the Seattle Mariners in 1993, the New York Yankees' Don Mattingly in 1987 and Dale Long of the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1956. In the minors, Texas Rangers prospect Justin Foscue hit eight straight across the rookie Arizona Complex League and the high Single-A level in 2021. He came into Friday's game batting .267/.372/.544 with 11 doubles, 13 homers, 31 RBI and 16 stolen bases. He played his previous four college seasons at UTSA. The 26-year-old played for three seasons in the Blue Jays' organization, spending last year with high Single-A Vancouver before being released last July while batting .184/.292/.272 in 75 games. He played 33 games for Double-A New Hampshire in 2023.

Texas A&M, university systems in other red states will create agency to review quality standards
The Texas A&M System is partnering with university systems from five other Republican-led states to create a new agency to set quality standards for their schools. The move comes amid Republican criticism of higher education accrediting agencies, which they say are partly responsible for promoting diversity, equity and inclusion programs, and reinforcing liberal bias in the country's colleges and universities. Officials with Texas A&M, State University System of Florida, University System of Georgia, University of Tennessee System, University of North Carolina System and University of South Carolina System said in a news release Thursday they will create a new agency to accredit them. They are calling the new body the Commission for Public Higher Education. Texas A&M and most other public, four-year universities in Texas are currently accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges. Jim Suydam, Texas A&M University System's director of media relations, said the university is not planning on leaving SACSCOC right now. 'In recent legislative sessions, our top state officials have sought a more reasonable and transparent pathway toward accreditation. And now, the leadership of the Texas A&M University System is pleased to announce that the System has joined an alliance of some of the nation's top university systems to provide a new, less cumbersome and more objective option for accreditation,' said Glenn Hegar, who will become the Texas A&M Chancellor on July 1. Accreditors assess higher education institutions' quality by reviewing their programs, curricula and graduation rates, among other metrics. Colleges and universities need to be accredited if they want their students to qualify for federal financial aid. Texas law requires the state's public universities to be accredited by one of seven federally recognized agencies. It's unclear if the five university systems have begun the process of getting the new agency recognized by the federal or state government. Suydam said it will likely be a two-year process. In recent years, President Donald Trump and Republican lawmakers have criticized U.S. universities for what they say amounts to promoting liberal ideologies to students. In April, Trump signed an executive order directing the Department of Education to overhaul the accreditation process for universities by reviewing existing accrediting agencies, suspending accreditation recognition for those deemed to have a poor performance, and recognizing new accreditors. He claimed some agencies have approved 'low quality' institutions and abused their authority by requiring that schools have diversity, equality and inclusion initiatives. SACSCOC does not have any DEI requirements for universities to get accredited, according to the agency. 'If DEI is the concern, then the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools would satisfy that concern because SACS does not require DEI for accreditation,' said Brian Evans, president of the Texas Conference of the American Association of University Professors. 'So, I don't know why the southern schools…are going band together to create a new accrediting agency.' The creation of the new accrediting agency also comes after the Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 530, which will give schools other options to become accredited. We knew he was good but no one saw it coming that he'd be able to get open with such ease against some of the best defensive backs in the country. The Michigan native is electric in the slot and took home MVP honors. North Carolina has the momentum in this recruitment. But Colorado, Maryland, Michigan and Michigan State are still in the hunt for him.
