Coronation Street's Audrey Roberts, played by Sue Nicholls, recently celebrated a birthday on the soap and fans have been left shocked after realising the actress' real age Coronation Street viewers have been left stunned after discovering the actual age of Sue Nicholls, who portrays beloved character Audrey Roberts. ‌ Audrey first appeared on the cobbles back in 1979 as Gail Platt's mum (Helen Worth), and has since become an absolute favourite amongst fans, featuring in numerous major storylines. ‌ Throughout the decades, audiences have experienced both heartache and happiness alongside Audrey, witnessing her wedding to Alf Roberts (Bryan Mosley) in 1985 and mourning his devastating passing in 1999. ‌ Fans have also watched Audrey evolve into a great-grandmother to characters such as Bethany Platt (Lucy Fallon), whilst seeing her collaborate with grandson David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) at Audrey's hair salon. ‌ More recently, she was left heartbroken when daughter Gail departed the cobbles last year following 25 years on the street, embarking on a fresh chapter in France with husband Jesse Chadwick (John Thompson), reports Leicestershire Live. During this week's episodes, Audrey marked her 85th birthday with a special meal at The Bistro, surrounded by her family including grandchildren Sarah (Tina O'Brien) and David. ‌ Yet fans have been absolutely flabbergasted upon learning actress Sue's true age. On a Corrie Facebook fan page, discussing character Audrey's recent birthday festivities, one person posted: "Aw, happy 85th birthday Audrey!". ‌ Another fan responded: "She looks good for her age, Sue who plays her is 81 in real life." A third viewer exclaimed: "No way!". Meanwhile, a fourth admiring fan declared: "She's barely aged." Before her time on Corrie, Sue had a hidden singing career and landed her first soap role in the legendary Crossroads. In 1968, she released a track titled 'Where Will You Be?', which climbed to number 17 in the UK Music Charts, and it's said that she also performed in a cabaret club in Vienna during her younger years. She became a familiar face on our telly, featuring in 'The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin' alongside Leonard Rossiter from 1976-1979, and as Nadia Popov in 'Rentaghost' from 1981-1984.

Days of Our Lives Recap: Shane Reactivates Cat to Help Take Down The DiMeras

Days of Our Lives Recap: Shane Reactivates Cat to Help Take Down The DiMeras originally appeared on Daytime Confidential. On today's Days of Our Lives recap: The Bistro: Chad and Gabi are enjoying a meal. He is surprised by her invitation. She says it's for old times' sake, but he is certain this is about Gabi Chic. She wants to talk about his birthright at DiMera. She tries to convince him to reclaim the company from the brothers' Kiriakis. Chad has no interest as the company has always been a front for all sorts of illegal activities. Chad wonders what's in it for Gabi and she mentions her exclusive contract with Titan which has two years until expiration. By that time, she is certain the company will have tanked. Gabi also tries to entice him by talking about his children's legacy. She notes his passion project with The Spectator isn't nearly as lucrative as DiMera. Chad takes a call from Leo about the Philip/Xander story. When he returns to the table, he gives Leo his flowers and Gabi wonders why everyone is riding that weasel's train. She inquires about his limp, and he tells her a bit about skydiving with Cat. Gabi likes Cat for doing her best to turn her life around. She doesn't understand why EJ would bid on the date and thinks Cat dodged a bullet. Chad says he's gotten to know Cat and has started to like her, much to Jennifer Rose's chagrin. Gabi gets JRo's concern based on Cat's tumultuous history. DiMera Mansion – Living Room: EJ is cute texting with Belle when Rita arrives. She notes his good mood as she hands him the memory card from Rafe's camera. Tony walks in and is thrilled to see Rita after so long. She remarks on how he is just as charming as his father. Toni notes he knows what EJ is trying to hide from him, and Rita suggests he take his elder brother's council. With that, Rita makes her exit. EJ shows Tony the memory card and says it's Johnny who is in trouble. EJ explains about what's on the memory card and how it relates to the night of his shooting. He says he doesn't remember much but did find the camera right before the shooting. He can't fathom who could have gotten in here to plant it undetected. Toni asks about the Johnny connection and EJ spills everything. Tony thinks there is no way Johnny would do such a thing. EJ says Johnny learned about how he raped his mother. Tony knows what EJ did to Samantha Gene was disgraceful but thinks Kate and Roman had no right to reveal the information. EJ understands but says his main focus is to protect Johnny at all costs and Tony agrees. Horton House: Jennifer Rose, JJ and Jack are playing monopoly with Thomas (Charlotte is at the spa with Julie). Their grandchild hates JRo and Jack are headed back to Boston. Grandma JRo says they are going to come back to Salem more often. Thomas is skeptical but won't share what he's thinking. JJ also wonders if they are hiding something. Jack admits JRo wants to keep an eye on Cat Greene. JJ and Jack excuse themselves. Jack explains Jennifer Rose's renewed concerns about Cat stem from her recent date with Chad. JJ gets it but notes it was for charity. JRo thinks the Cat/Chad connection is only growing. JJ promises to also keep an eye out. They all return to playing their game when Jennifer Rose thinks JJ has better things to do than hang out with them. Thomas scoffs saying he doesn't as Gabi dumped him (I love a mouthy kid). Jennifer Rose takes JJ aside and says how much she can't believe he would get involved with Gabi after everything she's done to their family. She really digs in her heels when Jack returns and tells her to slow her roll. JJ assures his parents he is done with Gabi as it's hard to come back from accusing your girlfriend of attempted murder. Horton Square: Cat is on the phone with Felicity when she senses someone behind her. When she turns around the shadowy figure is gone. Park: Cat wanders around when Shane surprises her. Shane gives her the business for not being more careful before asking if her old boss can get a hello. Cat notes she was only an analyst and never a field agent. Shane has been trying to get her back, but Cat has no interest. Shane says she has no choice. He takes a seat and wants to explain the situation. Cat reminds him how her time at the ISA destroyed hers and her parents lives and recounts how she was assigned to investigate Clyde Weston and to infiltrate his drug ring (interesting). She goes on to mention her accident and the reconstructive surgery. Shane knows all about it as the ISA footed the bill. Shane explains Cat is needed back at the agency as she is one of the best analysts and her personal connection to the case. He says her job with Marlena positions her correctly. Shane says the ISA is back investigating the DiMera crime family. With them being taken over by Titan, there's blood in the water. He wonders how EJ came up with the money for the purchase and wants to know the name of the benefactor – which is Cat's job. They know EJ is trying to lay claim to a patent but that's years away. The ISA needs to know what his plans are in the immediate. Further, he notes how Felicity received life-saving surgery at the hospital when she was an infant. Cat reluctantly agrees to take up the task and will report back if she hears anything useful. That being said, she's done with the ISA after this one final assignment. The Bistro: Tony and EJ arrive. Chad gets up and hugs his favorite DiMera – Tony (I love these two). EJ comments on his dinner companion and Tony asks if the two can join them. Gabi says she was just leaving. Toni inquires but Gabi says it's no big deal. Before she can exit, Tony asks Gabi if she's heard from Stefan. Gabi says she hasn't heard anything from him. Tony notes having reached out to him in Alamania but got no answer. EJ says he got a get-well card from Stefan but threw it out. Gabi gets all kinds of snarky before making her exit. Endings Gabi and JJ run into each other, and he apologizes for everything about accusing her of attempted murder. She asks what's changed and he mentions about the camera and missing memory stick. Gabi is annoyed by her ex-boyfriend as he should've had faith in her. She wishes him luck and walks away. Shane tells Cat he will be off the clock the next day because of his son's wedding. He wishes her the best and exits. Chad, EJ and Tony engage in a toast. Tony wastes no time saying their father is rolling over in his grave with the company in Kiriakis hands. He says it's time for the family to reunite but EJ says no as the company always brought him misery. He goes into University Hospital and how he believes the family's future belongs there. Tony turns to Chad who is also not interested. With that, he kisses Tony and Chad makes his exit. EJ gets a text from Belle and also walks out leaving Tony to wonder what's happened to his family. Chad runs into Cat in Horton Square and they talk about Aaron's graduation. As they solidfy their upcoming dinner plans, JJ watches from a distance. Tony calls Anna and fills her in on the reluctance of his fellow DiMera's. He says he has to be the one to save the family business. Keep checking back for the latest Days of Our Lives recaps! Days of Our Lives June 13 Spoilers: Philip's Life Hangs in Balance as Xander's Behavior Raises Alarms

As Friday arrives in Salem, the drama picks up where it left off—with secrets, suspicion, and strong family bonds. At University Hospital, Kate remains steadfast by Philip's side, but Xander's sudden presence raises dangerous questions. Meanwhile, the Johnson family reconnects over dinner, while a younger couple finds inspiration in their past. Xander's next move leaves Philip in jeopardy After weeks of staying at Philip's bedside, Kate returns to the hospital following John's funeral—only to walk into a chilling scene. Xander, who had just argued with Sarah at the nurses' station over seeing baby Victoria, is alone in Philip's hospital room, standing over him with a pillow in his hands. When Sarah and Kate walk in, Xander scrambles to cover up what looks like an attempt to smother Philip. Though he denies any wrongdoing, the moment only deepens Kate's conviction that Xander is responsible for Philip's condition in the first place. Xander has already managed to post bail, but Kate isn't ready to let him walk away again—not when her son is still fighting for his life. Her fury may drive her to act outside the law, especially if she believes the threat isn't over. As for Philip, the question remains: will he wake up before something worse happens? Dinner with the Johnsons turns romantic for Stephanie and Alex Steve and Kayla arrange a reunion dinner with Jack and Jennifer at The Bistro, bringing together family members and decades of history. Alex and Stephanie are invited to join, but before dinner, they find time for a steamy prelude. In his office at Titan, Alex encourages Stephanie to publish her novel and suggests reenacting a scene from it, right on his desk. Later, the family dinner offers warmth and nostalgia as stories are shared from past adventures. Surrounded by enduring love stories, Alex and Stephanie begin to envision their own future. Could this dinner spark thoughts of marriage and commitment for the younger couple? For more updates from the Day of Our Lives, keep up with Pinkvilla.

Carl Gizzi: Tributes to ‘legend' boxer who ‘put Rhyl on map'

Mr Gizzi, who was born in Rhyl in 1944, died aged 80 on April 27 following a battle with dementia, with his funeral held at St Asaph Crematorium on May 30. He is survived by his brother, Tony; his daughter, Renee, and son, Carl; and his two granddaughters, Monique and Stevie. As a boxer, Mr Gizzi was Welsh heavyweight champion from 1965 to 1971, and a British heavyweight title challenger in 1971. Carl Gizzi (Image: Jimmy Garland) Making his debut in the ring in 1964, he went on to win 31 of his 43 bouts (with 11 KOs), with opponents including Jack Bodell and Joe Bugner, while he also sparred with Muhammad Ali. After retirement, Mr Gizzi worked as a bouncer, including at the now-closed Rhyl club The Bistro on West Parade, and as a window cleaner. In 1972, he married his wife, Heather, who died in 2016, and became a father in 1974 when Renee was born, with Carl following in 1975. Renee Gizzi celebrated the life her 'amazing' father, who she described as 'the perfect gentle giant'. She said: 'He would give everybody the time of day. He was always there for other people. 'He was big family man; even though he had all the fame when he was younger, he didn't care about that, and it didn't go to his head. 'His boxing was amazing; he was a big gentle giant even when he was in the ring. He would never get in the ring first; he'd always wait for his opponent to get in the ring before him. He thought: 'First in, first out'.' Carl Gizzi with his late sister, Sandra (Image: Jimmy Garland) Donations pledged at Mr Gizzi's funeral will part of a £1,000 offering to the Gwanwyn ward at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, whose staff Ms Gizzi said were 'amazing' in caring for him. She said Mr Gizzi's funeral was a 'really beautiful celebration of his life', with the last song at the service No Limit by 2 Unlimited. Ms Gizzi added: 'He just loved being outside in the fresh air. All the way up to COVID, he was still working. 'He was always there for us. Anything you wanted, he'd be there. When I bought my house at age 20, he was always on hand to help. 'My dad always wanted to celebrate life; he never thought the worst.' Actor Spencer Wilding, from Rhyl, said Mr Gizzi 'put Rhyl on the map' and 'brought so much happiness to the town'. Spencer Wilding with Carl Gizzi (Image: Spencer Wilding) He added: 'He was my cousin, but I called him 'Uncle Carl'. I was glad to have loved him; he was the 'number one'. We all looked up to him. He was a legend. 'Carl fought before I was born, but you'd have trains pulling up to Rhyl full of people coming to watch him fight. 'I used to walk past Carl every weekend and he'd always say hello outside The Bistro. I loved Uncle Carl; I'd go and see him many a time. 'Everyone in the boxing world had so much respect for him. He was a gentleman. He had the best left jab in the business; he was a brilliant boxer. 'He was a very special soul, and I loved him so much.' Spencer Wilding with Carl Gizzi (Image: Spencer Wilding) Peter Trehearn, who got to know Mr Gizzi personally through his cousin, said he was a 'second to none' bouncer who 'greeter customers as friends' at The Bistro. He was, Mr Trehearn added, a 'protective big brother and father figure'. 'I had known of Carl from a distance as 'the' Rhyl icon since my youth, and had seen him box in Liverpool when I was trying out boxing in Rhyl Youth Club circa 1966-67. 'Carl was a thoughtful, gentle and modest person, and above all, a family man who was loved and respected by all. 'He made customers safe to relax and enjoy The Bistro's atmosphere. He is the reason that the Bistro had and still has, in customers' memories, such a good reputation. 'Renee and Carl Jr gifted us a lovely classical statue from their father's home which stands in our garden, and is a reminder of a long and continuing friendship.' Carl Gizzi (Image: Jimmy Garland) Jimmy Garland, Mr Gizzi's nephew, called his uncle 'a gentleman, a giant, and a guardian'. He said: 'In the days when legends like Muhammad Ali reigned in the ring, our very own 'Uncle Mickey' - Carl Gizzi - stood among the world's best. 'Ranked fifth in the world as a heavyweight boxer, he wasn't just a fighter by title - he was one by heart, spirit, and grit; A man whose hands could move with thunder, but whose heart beat with warmth and loyalty. 'Uncle Mickey became a silent guardian at the doors of clubs and venues. With his imposing frame, he kept the peace, not with force but with presence — a protector, not a provoker. And always, with his signature smoking pipe in hand. 'Uncle Mickey was the kind of man whose strength never drowned out his kindness. Whether it was in the boxing ring, on the doors, or at the dinner table, he was deeply respected — and deeply loved. 'A warrior in his youth, a watchman in his later years, and a legend in our hearts forever.'

Coronation Street character to make dramatic return to Weatherfield

There's violent scenes ahead on ITV soap Coronation Street next week, as one character makes a return to the cobbles after being locked up leading to a showdown with a teen There's a comeback on Coronation Street next week as someone returns to the cobbles after months away. But the return soon leads to drama, and it's not good news for one troubled teen. Dylan Wilson is heading back to the show according to new spoilers and images. ‌ Soon a confrontation takes place with fellow teen Brody Michaelis, who was in the STC with Dylan. Brody caused hell for the character, having him attacked and trying to blackmail him and his father Sean Tully into smuggling things into the unit. ‌ When Sean decided to grass up Brody he got attacked by Brody's father Mick Michaelis. He gave Dylan such a hard time that it seems there's no forgiving him. Next week on the ITV soap Dylan makes it clear exactly what he thinks of the teen, and soon there's a showdown. Soon Betsy Swain is caught up in things after her own drama with Brody days earlier. Ahead of Dylan returning home, months after he was sentenced to time away in the STC for possessing the knife used to kill Mason Radcliffe, his dad is concerned. He warns Brody's mother Lou that his son will be home and he doesn't want any more trouble from Brody. As the day arrives, he wants to celebrate his son coming home with lunch at The Bistro. Dylan isn't keen though and chooses the café instead, only for Brody to walk in. Sean tells Dylan not to worry and that he will protect him from Brody. Dylan isn't concerned though and instead tells his dad that Brody is the one who needs to watch out. ‌ He later follows Brody to the ginnel, but what does he have planned and will he take revenge? Later in the week the pair come to blows over Betsy. Sean is disheartened when Dylan is dismissive over returning to college. As Dylan heads out, he comes across Brody laying into Betsy after she shopped him to the police. ‌ As he confronts her he steps towards her, spotted by Dylan. Dylan races over to protect her, grabbing Brody and the pair get into a scuffle. How far will Dylan go though? Daniel Osbourne happens to see the commotion and heads over to intervene, while Betsy doesn't look impressed with Dylan's attempt to help her. The return comes amid a double exit, with a third teased. Next week Eileen and Jason Grimshaw bow out of the soap, with George Shuttleworth's exit also teased. It follows the death of Craig Tinker last week, with actor Colson Smith's final scenes on the soap airing. Soon to follow him are Brody's parents Mick and Lou, with their time on the show only planned to be short. Other recent exits have included Gail Platt, Daisy Midgeley, Mason and Yasmeen Nazir. Sue Cleaver will bow out as Eileen next Friday having been on the ITV soap for 25 years.
