Anupam Bhattacharya returns to TV with Jhanak after 5 years

Anupam Bhattacharya, recognised for his role in Ishq Subhanallah, is set to make a comeback to television after a five-year hiatus. He will be portraying Shashwat Sengupta in the show Jhanak post the leap. His decision to return was influenced by the character's potential to drive the story and the extensive reach of television. Actor Anupam Bhattacharya, last seen on television in Ishq Subhanallah, is returning to the small screen after nearly half a decade. 'I have been staying away from television for a fairly long time now… the primary reason being in a quest for a quality role on TV and concentrating more on OTT, films, and advertisements,' he says. In the years away from daily soaps, he stayed active with over 100 ad films and roles in projects like The Body, Farrey, TE3N, and Khakee. He now joins Jhanak post the leap of the show. Sharing about his role, he says, 'I am playing the role of Shashwat Sengupta — a rich businessman, a widower with a boy and a girl in their teens. He marries Ishani, one of the leads, to take care of his children and household errands.' He adds, 'I saw Shashwat as a character who can drive the story along with his interesting personality traits. That's why I took this show up.' Though he finds OTT and films creatively satisfying and rewarding as a performer, he acknowledges the power of television. 'Television has a huge reach in terms of audience, hence immense recall value, which always helps enhance your market,' he says.

Elle Macpherson, 61, puts on a very leggy display in stunning photoshoot as she gets candid on the menopause

Elle Macpherson showed why she earned the nickname 'The Body' in her latest photoshoot for ELLE Spain. The model, 61, put on a leggy display as she posed in an emerald mini dress with a high collar and tasselled detail. In another look, the Australian beauty sported a grey mini skirt alongwith a dark brown cloak and a pair of gladiator sandals. Styling her blonde locks into loose curls, she completed her look with a black handbag and a green headband. The model posed for three different covers for the July issue; one in black jeans and a faux fur coat, another in a denim shirt and another in a floral mini dress. In another look, the Australian beauty sported a grey mini skirt alongwith a dark brown cloak and a pair of gladiator sandals In her interview, Elle gave her thoughts on the menopause, saying: 'I prefer to see it as a rebirth: a process to be celebrated, not feared or silenced.' The model, who got her start in the industry in her late teens, also reflected on the length of her career. 'I never imagined that my professional career would span 43 years. And there's more to come,' she said. Elsewhere, she revealed giving up alcohol over two decades ago was a pivotal decision: 'Living without escapes or shortcuts has been a profound experience of faith and hope.' Elle has previously said she has never been bothered by ageing, and is simply proud that she has lived through 'amazing stages of fashion and fitness'. Speaking on This Morning, she said: 'I haven't always looked after my skin. I spent far too much time in the sun. I was born in the 60s, when lying out in the sun with baby oil was fashionable. 'But I haven't done any plastic surgery, not that I have any judgement - it just hasn't been my choice. I like a natural looking face.' Despite carving a stellar modelling career in the 1980s, Elle added that she is glad her body had changed over the years, as its proof of the life she has lived - having become a mother to sons Flynn and Aurelius since. She said: 'I try and do some exercise every day, but thank goodness I don't have the same body as in my 20s. 'This body has birthed two incredible boys and lived through amazing stages of fashion and fitness. There have been many changes and I'm grateful to be able to evolve over time. I'm open to change and evolving. These are tangible assets to my life.' While she is not fazed by ageing, Elle still tries to keep as healthy as possible - and lauded both the physical and mental benefits of going plant-based. She explained: 'When I turned 50 I realised things I did in my 20s weren't working anymore. I follow a plant-based alkaline diet, focusing on a healthy, whole food. 'I take green powder and protein powder every day, and I drink three litres of water a day. 'Being Australian, the outdoors has always been important to me. So I like to get out, hike, walk the dogs, swim laps and I do yoga in the evening. There's been such a change not just in my body, but my wellbeing.' Her nickname, Elle 'The Body' MacPherson, was coined in 1989 after she appeared on five covers of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

‘The Diplomat' Renewed For Season 4 At Netflix

Netflix has renewed its hit series The Diplomat for a fourth season. The news was revealed at the streamer's Upfronts presentation in New York City today, and before the show's Season 3 premiere this fall. From creator, showrunner, and executive producer Debora Cahn, The Diplomat is a high-stakes, contemporary political drama about the transcendence and torture of long-term relationships between countries and people. It centers on Kate Wyler (Keri Russell), the new U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom. She was supposed to go to Afghanistan. She's great in a crisis zone. In a historic home … less so. War is brewing on one continent and boiling over on another. Kate will have to defuse international crises, forge strategic alliances in London, and adjust to her new place in the spotlight — all while trying to survive her marriage to fellow career diplomat and political star Hal Wyler (Rufus Sewell). Cosby's 'All The Sinners Bleed' For TV, Orders Quinn Shephard Drama 'The Body' In Season 3, Ambassador Kate Wyler lives the particular nightmare that is getting what you want. She just accused Vice President Grace Penn (Allison Janney) of hatching a terrorist plot and admitted she's after the VP's job. But now the President is dead, Kate's husband Hal may have inadvertently killed him, and Grace Penn is the leader of the free world. None of this slows Hal's campaign to land Kate the vice presidency. Kate steps into a role she never wanted, with a freedom she never expected, an increasingly complicated friendship with Foreign Secretary Austin Dennison (David Gyasi), and an unnerving bond with First Gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford). RELATED: Ali Ahn, Rory Kinnear, and Ato Essandoh also star. The Diplomat has been nominated for multiple awards, including the Golden Globe, Emmy, SAG, PGA, WGA, and Critics' Choice. The streamer touts that the series' first season 'became Netflix's #1 most-viewed title during its first two weeks alone, reached the Top 10 in 87 countries, and garnered 173.46M hours viewed in the four weeks following its premiere.' Additionally, Season 2 of The Diplomat 'spent 4 weeks in the Global Top 10, reaching the Top 10 in 70 countries,' the company said. In addition to Cahn, Janice Williams, Alex Graves, and Keri Russell also executive produce. Netflix announces 8 show renewals at Upfront 2025 — 'Bridgerton' season 4 teaser, 'The Four Seasons' season 2, and more

Netflix brought plenty of good news for TV fans at its 2025 Upfront presentation, announcing eight show renewals and teasing what's to come for some of its biggest hits. The streaming service used its annual event to spotlight returning favorites and build excitement for the year ahead, with a surprise teaser for 'Bridgerton' season 4 stealing the show. Alongside the Regency-era drama's reveal, Netflix confirmed 'The Four Seasons' will return for a second season, along with shows like 'Forever' and 'Million Dollar Secret.' The renewals reflect Netflix's ongoing commitment to investing in content that keeps audiences coming back, especially at a time when competition in the streaming space is fiercer than ever. That commitment isn't just about entertaining viewers but also about appealing to advertisers. After all, the main goal of an Upfront presentation is to secure ad commitments in advance. Since last year's upfront, the number of monthly active users on Netflix's ad-supported tier has more than doubled, rising from 40 million to 90 million worldwide. According to Amy Reinhard, those subscribers are now watching an average of 41 hours of content each month. Below, we break down every show Netflix renewed and what you can expect from the next chapters of your favorite series. Netflix's 2025 upfront included renewal announcements for a variety of popular shows, including: Netflix also dropped a 1-minute teaser for 'Bridgerton' season 4, which focuses on Benedict (Luke Thompson) seeing his love interest Sophie (Yerin Ha) for the first time as she's stood off to the side admiring a chandelier. It's a short sneak peek but it already offers plenty of yearning as we've come to expect from the show. The next season will arrive sometime in 2026. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Plus, it's nice to see that 'The Four Seasons' and 'Forever' will keep going, considering they held the No. 1 spot on Netflix for quite some time. Netflix also revealed new projects across drama, comedy, reality, and film. 'The Body,' a gritty coming-of-age series from Quinn Shepherd, follows a group of rebellious girls who begin experiencing prophetic visions, sparking chaos in their town. In 'All the Sinners Bleed,' the first Black sheriff of a conservative Southern community leads a chilling manhunt for a serial killer. On the lighter side, Dan Levy returns with a new untitled comedy series, co-starring Laurie Metcalf and Taylor Ortega. The classic talent show 'Star Search' is also making a comeback for a new generation. For fans, it's always a win when a favorite show gets the green light for another season, but for Netflix, these renewals go much deeper than fan service. At a time when competition among streamers is intense and viewer loyalty is harder to maintain, confirming new seasons of beloved series is a smart move. At a time when competition among streamers is intense and viewer loyalty is harder to maintain, confirming new seasons of beloved series is a smart move. Shows like 'Bridgerton' and 'The Diplomat' have strong, built-in audiences. Renewing them sends a clear message: Netflix is doubling down on the stories people are already invested in. By giving a second (or fifth!) life to these shows, Netflix is building not just a content library, but a relationship with its audience that feels thoughtful and long-term. Especially since we're so used to these platforms canceling shows without giving them a chance. Bela Bajaria, Netflix's Chief Content Officer, highlighted what sets the platform apart, explaining that she's 'programming a slate, not slots. That means that my team is thinking about all the titles we release all year — across many countries and languages. And we're making sure we have shows and films for everyone and every mood. 'Our audiences expect us to have the best of everything. And we try to keep them on their toes with some unexpected surprises too. That's why when we have the opportunity to take big, bold swings and get the NFL on Christmas Day, a surprise boxing match, or the WWE every week, we move quickly and we make it happen.' 'The Body' director Jeethu Joseph on Rishi Kapoor: He is a true artist who celebrated cinema even in the face of personal challenges

As we remember the legendary Rishi Kapoor , one can't help but revisit his final on-screen appearance in the 2019 mystery thriller The Body. Directed by Jeethu Joseph — best known for the Malayalam hit Drishyam — the film may have flown under the radar, but it remains a significant chapter in Kapoor's storied career. Rishi Kapoor played SP Jairaj Rawal, a sharp-witted police officer assigned to solve the case of a missing corpse from a morgue. With his signature intensity and effortless screen presence, Kapoor brought gravitas to a role that was layered with suspicion, emotion, and subtle menace. While the film itself was a Hindi remake of a Spanish thriller, Kapoor's portrayal stood out as a testament to his enduring screen brilliance. The Man Behind the Camera Director Jeethu Joseph, who was making his Bollywood debut, recalled his time working with the veteran actor with deep respect. Despite battling health issues at the time, Kapoor remained thoroughly professional and enthusiastic about the project. Joseph described him as warm, humorous, and brimming with a zest for life — a true artist who celebrated cinema even in the face of personal challenges. 'He was someone who truly enjoyed the process of filmmaking,' Joseph had shared with IANS. 'Even when undergoing treatment in New York, he would stay in touch and talk about future collaborations. That kind of spirit is rare.' The two had even discussed the possibility of teaming up again — this time for a Malayalam film with superstar Mohanlal. Sadly, fate had other plans. A Poignant Goodbye Though The Body didn't make waves at the box office, it now holds a special place in Bollywood history. It wasn't just another mystery movie — it was Rishi Kapoor's swan song. A final glimpse of an actor who had journeyed from romantic hero to versatile performer, always leaving a mark with each role. As fans, we cherish every frame he appeared in, and The Body remains a bittersweet reminder of a talent gone too soon. Kapoor's performance was quiet yet compelling — a fitting farewell from a man who had spent nearly five decades lighting up the silver screen. If you haven't yet, revisit The Body — not just for the twists and turns, but to witness the last hurrah of a legend who made acting look effortless.
