‘The Chi' Exclusive Clip: Reg & Jackie Join Forces For A Heist
A new episode of The Chi streams this Friday, July 18, and BOSSIP has an exclusive clip of Reg enlisting his new shooter for a heist. He says he enjoys the kids' game because it 'forces you to pay attention,' even as Keith accuses him of cheating. The biggest deal to happen in this week's The Chi? Emmett surviving Reg's gunshot and, upon waking in the hospital, immediately asking Kiesha to marry him. A close second, at least in our eyes? And even though he confirmed that there were real feelings between them, she pulled away, saying they were 'moving too fast.' By the end of the episode, she was texting with Nuck — her other would-be suitor — and lightly flirting as she thanked him for putting together a crib for the baby that's due any day now. Obviously, Tiff is grieving Rob, the father of her child who was murdered at the end of last season. And she has no idea that Nuck pulled the trigger that ended his life. For the latest on the contest for the expectant mother's heart, we went to the experts: The Chi co-showrunners Justin Hillian and Jewel Coronel. TVLINE | I'm in love with Tiff and Victor as as couple, even though I think I might get my heart broken on that one. Would you call it a triangle, what's happening between them and Nuck?JUSTIN HILLIAN | It's… complicated. [Laughs] TVLINE | It's a square, because Alicia's on the end, being like, 'Do not do this.'JEWEL CORONEL | [Laughs] 'Do not pass Go.' I think that's one of those things, too. It's like The Chi balance, the dichotomy of characters where you have someone like Victor, who has been Trig. You have someone like Nuck, who's only known had to be a certain way. So it's like: What does Tiff want for her future, having lost someone so important to her? It's more in the idea of [the show] being female-centric this season, like, you know what? Where do you want to be in the next year, Tiff? Because these are two very different | We wanted to give her that agency. A new episode of The Chi streams this Friday, July 11, and BOSSIP has an exclusive clip of Kyla Pratt making her debut on the show. Source: Chris Lowe After Reg shoots Emmett, Nuck is on a manhunt, and he tracks down Hannibal for help in locating him. Nuck shows up at Hannibal's house and meets his wife, Angie (Kyla Pratt), who clearly doesn't play. 'You tough,' Nuck tells her. 'You should meet my sister,' Angie snaps back. Mello Buckzz Album Release Party Shooting Leaves 4 Dead, Including Her Boyfriend And Best Friend
Chicago rapper Mello Buckzz's album release party Wednesday (July 2) night ended in tragedy, as four partygoers were shot and killed, with 14 others sustaining injuries. NBC Chicago reports that the mass shooting took place outside of Artis Lounge nightclub in the River North neighborhood of Chicago, where attendees were celebrating the release of Mello's latest project, HollyHOOD The Mixtape. Towards the end of the night, as the crowd began to exit the venue, a dark-colored vehicle drove by the locale with at least one individual opening fire into the crowd. The vehicle immediately fled the scene. Multiple people between the ages of 21 and 32 were injured and taken to local hospitals, with four — two women and two men — succumbing to their injuries. One man, 24, was shot in the chest while the other, 25, was shot in the head. Both women sustained gunshot wounds to the chest. Of those injured, eight are now listed in critical condition. This includes a 29-year-old woman who was shot in the shin; a 29-year-old man who was shot in the thigh; a 31-year-old woman who was shot in the knee; a 25-year-old man who was shot in the hand and thigh; a 25-year-old woman who was shot in the thigh; a 30-year-old woman shot in the hand; a 29-year-old man who was shot in the forearm; and a 27-year-old woman who was shot in the foot. Sources also told NBC Chicago that Mello's boyfriend and best friend were among those who died. Hours later, Mello took to her Instagram Stories to mourn her partner and her bestie, posting several photos and videos with her late loved ones. 'Prayers up for all my sisters,' she began in a statement. 'God, please wrap your arms around every last one of them. We need u, I need u. NGL I'm f**ked up…fell like everything just weighing down on me. All I can do is talk to God and pray.' VIBE sends our condolences to Mello and all others affected by this tragedy.
