Advertisement Why is New Jersey such an important place for soccer players? It seems like on the world stage, so many players come from this region? It creates so much talent. Yeah, when we pitched the World Cup, uh, not just as a host city with New York City, but as a venue for the finals. We pitched the soccer passion in the region. We pitched diversity, which is a big deal. We picked legacy, the potential, not just what the last World Cup created, but what this World Cup can create going forward. But you, you're absolutely right, the first soccer game ever played in America was in Kearney, New Jersey, about 10 minutes from here. Advertisement Um, you look at the roster of both women and men who have come out of Jersey, who have played at a very high level, the John Harks of the world, uh. Now the Gorrea's new generation, right? You mentioned Carly, uh, just the list goes on and on and on, you know, we punch above our weight as a state, period, uh, not just in soccer, not just in sports, but then you look at, I think you can make the same argument, look at the NFL and, and, and trace the roots of, you know, the Quentin Nelsons of the world who went to Red Bank Catholic down by us where one of our guys went, arguably the best offensive liner linemen in the NFL. One example of many. Advertisement That come out of New Jersey, uh, but you could trace it through a lot of sports and none more clearly than soccer, um, and it says a lot about I think who we are, you know, we got a backbone, we got character, we got attitude. I think all of that really helps you in sports.
