The Summer I Turned Pretty: Everything You Need To Know About Season Three
Love triangles are having a moment on TV right now. We've got the messy ménage à trois between neighbours in Channel 4's The Couple Next Door, and plenty to choose from on season 12 of Love Island. Now, another love triangle is back on our screens with the return of The Summer I Turned Pretty for a third - and final - season. The coming-of-age romantic TV series is based on the popular book trilogy by bestselling author Jenny Han, and has developed a cult following. Season three is set nearly four years after the events of season 2, following Belly, played by Lola Tung, in a long term relationship with Jeremiah, played by Gavin Casalegno. Their feelings for each other are thrown into question by the arrival of her ex Conrad, played by Christopher Briney. However, fans of the book should prepare themselves for some differences, according to Jenny Han. 'There are a couple of moments that people really love from the books that I knew people were wanting to see,' she told People, warning 'they might not always happen in the way that you're expecting.' In season three, we return to following Belly, who is spending another summer in Cousins with Jeremiah after finishing her junior year of college. For now, Conrad is in the backseat, but everyone knows he still has a place in Belly's heart. 'First loves are important, but they're not as important as lasts,' Belly says in the trailer for the show. Gradually, everything begins to remind Belly of Conrad, despite talk of a wedding on the cards. The question is, will these memories overtake her desire to marry his brother? Those who have read the books will know how things end - and if not, you're going to have to wait until the show hits screens. The official longline for season three reads: 'Her future seems set, until some core-shaking events bring her first love Conrad back into her life,' continuing 'Now on the brink of adulthood, Belly finds herself at a crossroads and must decide which brother has her heart. Summer will never be the same.' Overall, The Summer I Turned Pretty has a 75% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. But what are people saying about season three? Lots of social media users are pointing out the similarities, and differences, between the show and the book. 'The first two episodes were good because they followed the book adaptation this time #TheSummerITurnedPretty,' one user wrote on X. Another agreed, writing 'the way this season has been the most book accurate season we've gotten so far oh i never said a bad thing about you jenny han #TheSummerITurnedPretty.' A third said 'the summer i turned pretty is rlly good so far.' However, some people found themselves struggling to get into the show. 'Wish i could get into the summer i turned pretty but i am 5 episodes in and not enjoying still.' Season 3 of The Summer I Turned Pretty premieres on Wednesday 16th July on Amazon Prime. The first two episodes will be released, and new episodes will drop every Wednesday until the series finale on Wednesday 17th September. In the UK, the new episodes will be ready to watch at 8am GMT. If you're loving The Couple Next Door S2, here's how to watch the gripping Scandi drama it's based on for free
If like us you're already hooked on the second season of The Couple Next Door and just need a little bit more of the drama, you're in luck! Unfortunately, this isn't a season three announcement (we'll let you know once we hear more about this). But, you may or may not already know that the second season of the Channel 4 thriller - which centres around heart surgeon Charlotte (Annabel Scholey), her husband Jacob (Sam Palladio) and their mysterious neighbour Mia (Aggy K. Adams) - is loosely adapted from the Danish series Dopamine - and you can watch it in the UK for free! Here's everything you need to know. Dopamine focuses on Maiken who works alongside her boyfriend at the University Hospital, where everything appears picture-perfect on the surface. But beneath the calm, she's grappling with a troubled personal life and a relationship that's slowly unraveling. When new nurse Ida joins the ward, their carefully balanced world is thrown into chaos, much like Charlotte and Jacob's. The series originally premiered in Denmark on the 31st March 2022 and is made by Kamikaze Film CPH. Speaking about the inspiration behind the second season of The Couple Next Door, the writer David Alison said: "In terms of the story, we took inspiration very, very loosely from a Danish series called Dopamine but we have had enormous creative freedom to develop it exactly the way we wanted and run in whatever direction we wanted to do, and hopefully that's what we've done." Dopamine is available to watch for free on Channel All eight episodes from season one are available to stream directly from there, and they're all about 30 minutes long, so you'll be able to binge the entire series in one afternoon. The episodes are also available to stream via Apple TV. Danish actress Amalie Dollerup stars in the lead role of Maiken. Below is a full cast list: The Couple Next Door season 2 is currently airing on Channel 4.

Did The Couple Next Door's Mia kill the patient in episode 2? Shocking moment explained
**Contains spoilers on The Couple Next Door season 2 episode 2** The Couple Next Door season 2 kicked off on Channel 4 last night (Monday 14th July), and viewers (including myself) are already hooked. The new series centres around heart surgeon Charlotte and her consultant‑anesthetist husband, Jacob, whose seemingly perfect life is interrupted by their new neighbour and nurse at their hospital, Mia (played by Aggy K. Adams). From the minute she arrived, Mia's behaviour has raised suspicion - from her move to the Leeds from Sweden, to her being able to afford a home on the posh street where her boss lives while on a nurse's salary. And in episode two, she raised major alarm bells, as one of the patients at the hospital suddenly died, and she showed zero remorse. So, did she kill the patient? Here's everything you need to know. As of episode two, it's not clear whether Mia did in fact kill the patient, but all the signs are pointing towards her. At the beginning of the episode, the patient groped Mia while she was getting him ready for surgery. "I bet you have all the boys chasing you don't you," he said, before touching her bum. She left the room in disgust and bumped into Jacob, who had witnessed the whole thing. He tried to check if she was ok, but she stormed off saying that she could handle it herself and she wasn't a child. She later thanked him. Following surgery, the patient's blood pressure began to fall and his heart rate increased. Mia was the only nurse in the room at that point, with Jacob later entering to see what was up. He pressed the alarm and asked her to assist him with trying to stabilise the patient, but she just froze in the corner. More nurses and doctors rushed into the room to help, but she could be seen in a panic in the corner. Mia didn't move until the patient was pronounced dead. "He really wasn't a pleasant man," she said as she left the room. On her way home, she bumped into Alan (Hugh Dennis) who asked if she'd had a bad day. She told him a patient had died and he said he was sorry. She replied: "Don't be; he was a sexist perve. I don't think anyone will miss him." The staff at the hospital were later interviewed by the hospital manager, and one of them mentioned that the patient's death was "unexplained". "Something wasn't right," he added. Speaking about Mia, the head nurse said: "You know I would always back my nurses, but Miss Eldegard's response to the death really shocked me. "Firstly she hesitated when she was asked to help the anaesthetist save his life and I had to take over." The hospital manager mentioned that situations don't always run smoothly, and the head nurse agreed, however, felt that Mia continued to act suspiciously. "But afterwards, she acted almost pleased about the patient's death because she'd taken against him. I'd say she was quite cold about it as if justice had been done," she said. When being questioned herself, Mia said: "No I didn't like that man. He was disgusting." Asked by the hospital manager if she didn't think other's might find her reaction unusual, she continued: "I did my job properly; I have a clear conscience. I'm sorry I'm not emoting in a sufficiently correct British way for you. The hospital manager then ordered a post mortem on the patient... Mia's looking pretty guilty right now! The Couple Next Door season 2 is currently airing on Channel 4.

The Reviews Are In For Season Two Of The Couple Next Door
When it comes to TV, we know a dark, suburban drama rarely disappoints. So naturally, we were super excited to see that Channel 4's The Couple Next Door returns to our screens tonight for a second series. Season one of the show tells the story of Evie and Pete, a couple who recently moved to a new 'idyllic suburban community.' But things aren't quite as they seem. They soon get involved in a strange multi-person romance, which descends into chaos. For season two, there's a whole new set of characters to get to grips with. We meet heart surgeon Charlotte and her husband Jacob, whose lives get turned upside down by their lively new neighbour, Mia. The synopsis reads: 'The deliciously dark psychological drama returns, as mysterious new neighbour Mia arrives on the cul-de-sac, determined to work her way into the confidence - and the bed - of the couple next door...' Although season two of The Couple Next Door introduces us to different characters, we're back on the same cul-de-sac where Evie and Pete from season one lived. This time around, we meet heart surgeon Charlotte and her husband Jacob, an anaesthetist. The couple are in their 40s and have been married for 20 years. So far, life seems to be going fairly smoothly for them. But their lives are disrupted by the arrival of Mia, a mysterious nurse from Norway who begins working at the hospital and becomes the couple's neighbour in the cul-de-sac. Gradually, questions start to niggle at the couple as they question whether they are truly happy, and whether things have changed between them since they met. The arrival of Charlotte's ex-boyfriend shakes things up further, as there seems to be some unfinished business between the pair. Mia, Charlotte and Jacob embark on a a ménage à trois - initially, it's exciting but things gets darker as time goes on. The tension rises when Mia's past comes to the surface, leading Charlotte and Jacob asking who she really is - especially when patients at the hospital start mysteriously dying. Without further ado, let's look at what the critics are saying about the show. The Radio Times gave The Couple Next Door three stars, calling it 'sexy, sinister and completely bonkers.' Critic Abby Robinson wrote that the show got her 'thinking about the scores of real-life stories detailing the accounts of women who were in heteronormative marriages for years, before finding love with other women in later life.' She adds: 'Like the episodes that came before, this offering is a moreish affair that you'll find difficult not to polish off in a couple of sittings. Round 2 is not only steamier, but things take an exceedingly chilling turn when patients in Mia's care start dying, which is infinitely more compelling than the criminal dealings Danny was wrapped up.' The Evening Standard was less impressed with second series of the show, giving it two stars. 'Given the tantalising promise of neighbourly hanky-panky, viewers must endure hours of tedious hospital drama before they're rewarded,' wrote critic Adam Bloodworth. 'And even then, director Dries Vos hardly serves up Mills & Boon. Sometimes the intimacy is so over-stylised it makes you laugh, although there is some nicely slo-mo camerawork trailing the flirtatious moments beforehand, which titillate more than the sex itself.' The Telegraph gave The Couple Next Door season two three stars. Anita Singh wrote: 'Everything about Mia is mysterious. Series one felt as if it was trying to do something different, but series two is the familiar tale of a malevolent female who worms her way into a household (Fatal Attraction, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, etc). Mia is running from something in her past, which is glimpsed in flashbacks.' Viewers have eagerly been binging the show, and the reaction online is mixed. Some people took to X to share how much they were enjoying season two. One user wrote Holy f*** 'The Couple Next Door' season 2 is seriously good! #TheCoupleNextDoor' A second wrote: '#TheCoupleNextdoor Loved the first series So far enjoying the new one.' However, others were less impressed, with one user pointing out the 'unbelievable' storyline. 'Just watched the first two episodes of series 2, it's a dreadful unbelievable storyline is ridiculous. After a first really good series this was a disappointment,' they wrote. A conflicted user penned: 'Giving #TheCoupleNextDoor another chance as I got bored halfway through.'
