Capitol Police Zip-Tied Elderly Wheelchair Users During Protest Over Medicaid Cuts

U.S. Capitol Police zip-tied older people in their wheelchairs during a "die-in" demonstration protesting President Donald Trump's "big, beautiful bill," which is estimated to cut Medicaid by $793 billion over the next 10 years. More than 30 protesters were arrested Wednesday for "illegally demonstrating inside the Russell Senate Office Building," a spokesperson for the U.S. Capitol Police told CNBC. "It is against the law to protest inside the Congressional buildings," the spokesperson said, adding that "there are other places on Capitol grounds where people can lawfully demonstrate without issue." Videos circulating on social media showed a line of protesters in wheelchairs, their wrists zip-tied in a way that allowed them to maneuver their devices. Many were accompanied by officers. In total, 34 demonstrators were arrested, CNBC reported. "Here are people in wheelchairs at Capitol on Wednesday arrested for their 'die-in' protest to oppose GOP's plan to cut Medicaid which will literally kill them," Dean Obeidallah, host of "The Dean Obeidallah Show," wrote in a post on X. "The GOP is making these cuts to give their wealthy donors a tax cut. The anger towards GOP and oligarchs is why a Dem socialist won." More than 70 million low-income and disabled Americans rely on Medicaid for health insurance. If Trump's proposed legislation passes in the Senate, around 16 million people could lose coverage by 2034. A number of GOP senators have spoken out against the bill, including Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley, Maine Sen. Susan Collins and Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski, who told CBS News last week that she has "been pretty clear that when it comes to Medicaid, those cuts that would harm Alaskan beneficiaries, that's not something that I can take home, right?" "We have some of the highest health care costs in the country. We have 40% of Alaska's kids that are on Medicaid. I want to try to do what we can to address certain aspects of our entitlement spending," Murkowski stated. "We've got to do that. But doing it with the most vulnerable bearing the brunt of that is not the answer," she added. Originally published on Latin Times

Trump facing Biden-like health issues? Nephew drops bombshell claims

Fred Trump III, nephew of President Donald Trump, pointed to a troubling family history of dementia while voicing concerns about his uncle's mental fitness. Trump's nephew notes troubling signs of cognitive decline and contrasts them with the public image of his grandfather's health.(Bloomberg) Fred, who recently authored All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way, didn't mince words during a recent appearance on The Dean Obeidallah Show on SiriusXM and spoke about worrying signs of cognitive decline in the 45th U.S. President. 'I know what I saw in my grandfather,' Fred said, referring to Fred Trump Sr. , Donald Trump's father, who lived with Alzheimer's for eight years before passing away in 1999. Fred III claimed the elder Trump's health was far from what Donald had publicly said. Fred noted that Donald now 'looks older' and seems increasingly unfocused in his public appearances. 'The things he's spewing and the craziness, and he just can't stick to a message. He used to be able to stick to a message,' he pointed out. Trump niece echoes the same concern about her uncle Fred's comments echo those made by his sister, Mary Trump, a psychologist. Both siblings have repeatedly raised alarms over their uncle's behaviour and public statements, and both have endorsed then Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 presidential race. Ironically, this comes at a time when Trump himself has repeatedly questioned former President Joe Biden's cognitive health, accusing him of mental decline throughout the previous election cycle. But now, some voters and experts are starting to reflect those same concerns back onto Trump. Dr. Jennifer R. Mercieca, a communications and journalism professor at Texas A&M University, told told the Daily Beast, 'His lack of focus makes it seem as though he's experiencing cognitive decline, that his brain is not well-disciplined, and he's unable to maintain a thought and carry it through to a logical conclusion.' Trump's nephew warns of dementia signs in the president: ‘I know the warning signs…'

In a stunning revelation, Fred Trump III, nephew of Donald Trump and son of Fred Trump Jr., has raised grave concerns about his uncle's mental health, citing a troubling history of dementia in the Trump family. He recently authored All in the Family: The Trumps and How We Got This Way, a revealing memoir that delves into the complex dynamics, conflicts, and legacy of the Trump family. He recalled that their grandfather, also the father of the president, suffered from Alzheimer's disease for eight years before he died in 1999. Fred emphasized that dementia has left a deep mark on their family and said recent signs in his uncle's behavior have stirred unease. Trump's nephew also drew parallels between the president's recent behavior and that of other relatives who battled dementia, including their cousin John Walters. He did not mince his words as he said, 'You know, Donald said, 'Oh, my father was tiptop until the end.' I can assure you, that was not the case. I know what I saw in my grandfather,' as reported by the Irish Star. He continued, 'I know what I saw in Donald's older sister, my aunt Maryanne, who in the end ... I am not a doctor, I don't pretend to be. I just, I know the warning signs from both of my grandfathers." Fred added, 'But the things he's spewing and the craziness, and he just can't stick to a message. And he used to be able to stick to a message." His sister, Mary Trump, has also penned books on similar topics. Also Read: Is White House on fire today? While polling consistently showed that voters were concerned about Biden's acuity, those same concerns have increasingly been mirrored in public discussions about Trump's own cognitive state, now amplified by members of his own family.

Ex-MSNBC Legal Analyst Has A Prediction For Trump, And It Involves 'The C-Word'

Glenn Kirschner, a former federal prosecutor and ex-MSNBC legal analyst, believes President Donald Trump and his Department of Justice will face criminal contempt charges over their defiance of U.S District Judge James E. Boasberg's orders to halt recent deportations. Trump invoked an 18th century wartime act last week to deport hundreds of immigrants to a prison in El Salvador, ignoring a verbal order from Boasberg. He has since called for the judge, whom the White House called a 'Democrat activist,' to be impeached. On 'The Dean Obeidallah Show' Thursday, Kirschner weighed the potential consequences. 'I was a prosecutor for 30 years,' he told the SiriusXM radio host. 'You don't write in pleadings or say in court, things like, 'Judge, we don't believe the information you're looking for is relevant.' Guess whose determination that is, sport? Not yours! The judge's!' 'We are going to see the C-word uttered very soon — contempt,' Kirschner continued. 'It will start as criminal contempt. It will very likely morph, it will start as civil contempt that will very likely morph into criminal contempt.' The openly defiant administration told Boasberg in a court filing Wednesday to be more 'respectful,' prompting the federal judge to give the administration 24 more hours to fulfill his demand for more information about their refusal to follow his initial order. The Justice Department characterized Boasberg's demand for information about the deportation flights as 'a picayune dispute over the micromanagement of immaterial factfinding,' as opposed to a potentially illegal defiance of a federal judge's order. 'I don't remember lawyers, in the times I practiced, telling judges, 'You don't know what you're talking about,' in writing!' Obeidallah, a former attorney, told Kirschner. 'And this is, I'm sure, [U.S. Attorney General] Pam Bondi doing this for Donald Trump.' On Friday, Trump claimed that he 'didn't sign' the document invoking the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 that led to the deportations — and claimed 'other people handed it' — despite his name being readily visible at the bottom. The comment came less than a week after Trump baselessly claimed that his predecessor, former President Joe Biden, used an autopen during his time in office on numerous pardons that are now supposedly 'void.' Kirschner foresees things getting dicier for Trump. 'For the viewers at home, here's a fun fact,' he said Thursday. 'The only time a judge can appoint an independent prosecutor to prosecute a case, it is contempt of court for violating court orders. So hold on tight because the ride is going to get a whole lot bumpier.'
