Shashl drops new hit single ‘Shine' and she's eyeing a Grammy

Zimbabwean music sensation Shashl is gearing up for a global tour and big Grammy dreams with her latest album, The First Quarter The Afro-pop star recently released her new single Shine. The track, which dropped this week as part of her new album, is making waves internationally, and fans can't get enough. It is quickly climbing streaming charts and gaining traction on platforms including Spotify and Apple Music. But Shashl isn't stopping there. Her First Quarter World Tour kicks off next month and will see the star performing across Africa, Europe and North America until April 2026. 'This album is the most honest I've ever been with my music,' Shashl told TshisaLIVE. 'It's a reflection of who I was, who I am and who I'm becoming.' Known for hits including Kedu, Murudo, Deepisa, and Don't Mind Me, Shashl has carved her place as Zimbabwe's leading female Afro-pop and R&B artist. With more than 41,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, more than one million digital streams, and a following of more than 200,000 fans across social platforms, she continues to redefine what it means to be a modern Zimbabwean artist. Her genre-blending sound pulls from Afrobeat, R&B, soul and amapiano while her lyrics speak to the real life experiences of young people navigating love, growth and identity. In 2019, she made history as the first female Zimbabwean artist signed to Universal Music Africa. With The First Quarter making waves, Shashl has her eyes set on one of the biggest prizes in music, a Grammy nomination in 2026.
