Kealey also later revealed that his injuries included a partially collapsed lung. The footage of the incident is terrifying, and Nascar fans shared how tough Kealey was for getting his job done. NASCAR Driver Welcomes Circuit Shuffle Amid Talks of Racing Outside USA

NASCAR Cup Series driver Alex Bowman has applauded the sport for dropping old tracks from the race calendar to make way for new ones in recent years in a bid to keep the excitement alive. Through a rotational system, NASCAR has broken the monotony that drivers experienced racing on the same tracks twice a year. The sport held its first-ever Cup Series street race in Chicago in 2023, a venue that continues to be a part of the calendar this year. Discussions are also underway for a potential street race in San Diego in 2026. Bowman welcomed the idea of further track additions and encouraged the sport to expand its reach to international destinations. Speaking on Chasing Checkers, he said: "I think that's a really good thing. I think our schedule was the same for so long that I guess you could say it got a little bit stale. So, I think just continuing to change it up, go to new places, kind of rearrange it a little bit, I think it's a really good thing. I think that's important for our sport to go to new places and not go to the same 15 tracks twice a year forever, right? Like we want to go to different places and kind of change it up. There's so many great racetracks in the country and around the world. So, there's definitely a lot of cool places that we can go race." Speaking of racetracks outside of the USA, former NASCAR driver, commentator, and analyst Kyle Petty proposed races in Canada and Europe after NASCAR successfully held its first international points race in Mexico recently. Newsweek Sports reported his comments: "Obviously, if we're opening up Mexico, then I think we should take a look at Canada. I would like to see that. There are so many race fans. If you go to Michigan, Watkins Glen, you're right along the Canadian border. There's so many Canadian fans that come over. ... So I look at that and I say, Yeah, those are no-brainers to me. "I would love to see us land somewhere in Europe, at least once. I've been going to Goodwood [in England], places like that. There are so many NASCAR fans, so many stock car fans, and it's just a totally different form of racing than Formula One or sports cars or Le Mans and that type of racing. "It's just a totally different form. It's not better, it's not worse, it's just different, that's just the way it is. I think it would be interesting to see the type of crowd that we could draw over there on an oval, or on a road course, because we have opened ourselves up with this car to be in a road course-type series. I know it's never gonna go to full road courses, but there will be a lot more of them that add on."

Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch Clash On Dale Jr.'s NASCAR Crew Chief Role

Following Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s first win as crew chief for NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Connor Zilisch at Pocono, Kyle Busch dismissed the effort as a publicity stunt. However, Denny Hamlin disagreed with Busch, stating that Dale Jr. still had to manage strategy and take on the responsibility of a crew chief. Co-owner of JR Motorsports, Dale Jr. took on the role of interim crew chief for his driver Zilisch, filling in for Mardy Lindley, who faced a one-race suspension. However, Busch argued that there was enough technology to have Lindley connected remotely, suggesting that there was no need for Dale Jr. to step in. Speaking to Dalton Hopkins, he said: "It's all publicity, but spin it how you want it. He's just going to be a warm body sitting on top of the box. You know, they've got enough stuff from the shop and enough technology these days of being able to have the crew chief still involved. So, I could say I could do the same thing with one of my truck teams, but the guys at the shop would be the ones handling it. Eyeballs, and putting some attention on their team, and stuff like that. I mean, JRM is one of the top two, three teams in the Xfinity Series. So, let the best man win." Hamlin took a slightly more diplomatic stand on the matter and admitted that credit must be given to Dale Jr. for taking on the responsibility. He said on his Actions Detrimental podcast: "I think we've got to give Dale Jr. a little bit of due and certainly, don't want to undersell the fact that the team was doing the heavy lifting. I think that the answer can be somewhere in between of Kyle Busch says he's nothing but a warm body up there — the TV sells it as if he's an actual crew chief — I think the answer is probably somewhere in between. But you still got to be responsible, right? "You got to get the messages to the driver, and he saw opportunities, strategy wise, and he's probably talking to the engineers about the strategy. The result was he was walking to Victory Lane at the end of that race and obviously, Connor drove that car fantastic." Dale Jr. acknowledged in the post-race press conference at Pocono that he was under a ton of pressure while performing the role of a crew chief. Busch later clarified his stance on the matter on X, saying he was pointing out how silly crew chief suspensions are since they can be in touch with their teams, and stressed that he had nothing against Dale Jr. He wrote: "This has nothing to do w any animosity towards Dale jr. I'm referencing how silly the suspensions for cc [crew chief] are these days w all the technology they have to stay in contact w their teams. I'd say the same thing if JG [Jeff Gordon] went on a HMS [Hendrick Motorsports] box as a cc." [sic]

Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Bubba Wallace faced a huge setback in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway after a brake rotor failure on his car. If that wasn't enough, the front tire on his car gave in, causing Wallace to lose control and crash. Wallace's race got off to a bad start when he suffered a mechanical problem in qualifying. That caused his team to make last-minute tweaks to his car, which resulted in him starting the race at the back of the field. Wallace hasn't won a race this year, which compromises his position in the playoffs. Following the setback in Pocono, his position in the standings dropped from 10th to 12th. Bubba Wallace, driver of the #23 McDonald's Toyota, walks the grid during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway on June 21, 2025 in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Bubba Wallace, driver of the #23 McDonald's Toyota, walks the grid during qualifying for the NASCAR Cup Series The Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway on June 21, 2025 in Long Pond, considering NASCAR's rule, which guarantees a playoffs spot to any driver who wins a race, Wallace has been pushed down in the playoff standings, given the victories secured by Austin Cindric, Josh Berry, and Shane van Gisbergen thus far in the season. The incidents at Pocono added a significant dent to his position this season, and unfortunately, there was nothing much he could do about them. Addressing the brake failure incident, Wallace said: "I was going to battle the 17 [Chris Buescher] and the 2 [Austin Cindric] and by the time I was ready to touch the pedal it just went to the floor and the brakes exploded. "I hate it, we've had two or three good races in a row [sixth at Nashville, fourth at Michigan and 12th at Mexico] and there goes the bad luck again." Expressing his frustration, the 23XI driver added: "They told me there's no such thing as bad luck, we create our own luck. I hate it for my guys, I hate it for McDonald's. We knew it was going to be a grind and I was mentally prepared for that all day. "As frustrating as it gets not being able to pass here in Pocono, we were going to just take our lumps and march our way through and set ourselves up for the end of the race, but the brakes just didn't want to hang on that long." In a separate interview, when Wallace was asked to confirm if it was a brake issue, he said: "My foot told my a**, which told my brain." "(That's) what my foot told my ass and my brain" -@BubbaWallace when asked if it was a brake failure on his car.#NASCAR — Frontstretch (@Frontstretch) June 22, 2025 Results from the Cup Series race at Pocono Raceway
