The Great British Sewing Bee fans left furious as 'wrong' contestant is sent home

Fans of The Great British Sewing Bee were left disappointed by the latest elimination on the BBC One show. Viewers who watched the latest episode of BBC 's The Great British Sewing Bee were furious over the recent elimination. Numerous fans took to social media to vent their frustration after Peter became the latest contestant to depart the programme, with many declaring it was the "wrong decision". ‌ During the latest round in Week Two, the participants tried to wow judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young with their creations. Their initial task involved constructing a seven-panel cap, before facing the challenge of transforming unwanted cycling gear into fresh garments. ‌ In the final round, dubbed Made to Measure, contestants were required to craft an athleisure outfit. ‌ Despite giving their all throughout each task, it was regrettably the end of the journey for Peter and Saffie, reports the Express. Two participants faced the axe after the judges chose not to eliminate anyone last week, following Glendora's illness which forced her withdrawal from a challenge. ‌ Presenter Sara Pascoe revealed: "Now for the difficult bit. You're all so talented, this was a really difficult decision but the two sewers leaving us this week are Saffie and Peter." Viewers were not pleased with the announcement, with one person grumbling online on X: "Disappointed to see Peter go, I think he had a lot more to give, his dress last week was fantastic! #SewingBee." A second also concurred and remarked: "#SewingBee It's a Pity about Peter. He should've measured the model. But it's a great show, starring Esme's necklace." ‌ One viewer added: "No way not Peter! Wrong decision #SewingBee." Another echoed: "Oh no, Peter! That was a bit of a shock, even though his made-to-measure wasn't great. #SewingBee." Peter, 45, spoke about his elimination, saying: "I kind of half expected to hear my name called. They were totally justified in what they said, and I've learnt from them." ‌ Meanwhile, Saffie admitted: "I kind of had a feeling I was going to go because I just hadn't kept most of the challenges within time." Judge Esme Young explained their decision: "Peter, he was reflecting who he was, but it wasn't well sewn." Patrick added: "Saffie, I'm disappointed because I would really like to see more from Saffie, but her execution let her down."

BBC confirms fate of MasterChef series filmed with John Torode and Gregg Wallace

The BBC has revealed the fate of the unaired MasterChef series featuring fired presenters Gregg Wallace and John Torode. The amateur version of the hit reality cooking series had already filmed season 21 when Wallace was removed as host following a string of misconduct allegations. In an independent review commissioned by Banijay which came out earlier this month 45 out of the 83 allegations against Wallace were substantiatedleading his official sacking and co-star Torode had a racial language allegation upheld against him. As such the BBC initially said they were still deliberating whether to air the already-recorded season but now have made the decision to release it at the start of August. A BBC spokesperson said: 'After careful consideration and consultation with the contestants, we have decided to broadcast the amateur series of MasterChef on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from August 6. 'MasterChef is an amazing competition which is life-changing for the amateur chefs taking part. The focus of it has always been their skill and their journey.' The spokesperson said it had 'not been an easy decision in the circumstances' and acknowledged not everyone would agree. They added: 'In showing the series, which was filmed last year, it in no way diminishes our view of the seriousness of the upheld findings against both presenters. More Trending 'We have been very clear on the standards of behaviour that we expect of those who work at the BBC or on shows made for the BBC.' Calling it the 'right thing to do' for the cooks to be 'properly recognised', they added that the fate of the celebrity series and two Christmas special featuring Torode was still up in the air. 'Most importantly MasterChef is a brilliant, much-loved programme which is bigger than any one individual. EastEnders fans 'obsessed' as Walford legend returns to TV screens

Much-loved EastEnders legend Cheryl Fergison has made a grand return to TV screens in a hit comedy series. The actress, who played iconic character Heather Trott on the BBC One soap from 2007 to 2012, has been open about her financial struggles and lack of work in recent years. Last year Cheryl opened up about being unable to find work, and how she was able to get help from a food bank, as well as from co-star Dame Barbara Windsor. 'The lovely late great Barbara Windsor was getting her chequebook out to help me,' she said. 'They helped me out a lot and helped my family.' Now, Cheryl has returned to our screens in a guest role in BBC Two's surreal comedy Mandy, which is written by and stars Diane Morgan. Each episode follows the exploits of permanently out of work Mandy Carter and her best friend Lola, who often find themselves in madcap situations and meeting colourful characters. In the first episode of the latest series, which can be streamed now on iPlayer, Mandy is forced to attend a restart scheme at her local job centre, where she meets Stella (Fergison), a mute woman who only speaks once to say she 'looks dirty'. After performing illegal cosmetic surgery on an old school mate, the titular character then splashes the cash on an expensive new outfit to prove Stella and the other attendees wrong. Taking to social media, Cheryl's fans have expressed their elation at seeing her again. 'Obsessed with Cheryl 'two words' Fergison. She did a cracking job,' said one on X. BBC The Great British Sewing Bee stars 'so surprised' over unexpected double exit

The Great British Sewing Bee contestants were left shocked this evening as two contestants were eliminated from the competition The Great British Sewing Bee contestants were left stunned as an unexpected pair faced elimination from the competition. ‌ The BBC's cherished reality contest returned to screens on Tuesday (July 22) evening with Sara Pascoe once again taking the helm as presenter. ‌ During the second week, amateur stitchers pulled out all the stops with a series of tasks, hoping to wow judges Patrick Grant and Esme Young with their creations. ‌ Initially, the sewers tackled a technical Pattern Challenge, crafting a seven-panel cap. In the Transformation Challenge, they breathed fresh life into discarded cycling kit, transforming it into chic new pieces, reports Wales Online. Finally, for the Made to Measure round, the sewers designed an athleisure ensemble – something functional for the gym yet trendy enough for a café. ‌ The stakes were particularly high during both challenges, as two participants would be departing the programme after the judges opted against eliminating anyone the previous week due to Glendora being compelled to withdraw from the challenge owing to illness. Despite giving their utmost throughout the challenge, Saffie and Peter found themselves heading home. Breaking the news, Sara began by declaring: "Now for the difficult bit. You're all so talented, this was a really difficult decision but the two sewers leaving us this week are Saffie and Peter." ‌ The announcement clearly caught everyone off guard as they turned towards the duo and gasped, with one participant audibly remarking: "I'm so surprised". Peter, 45, confessed to the camera: "I kind of half expected to hear my name called. They were totally justified in what they said and I've learnt from them." The senior pre-construction manager added: "This is a big learning experience for me." Meanwhile, a tearful Saffie admitted: "I kind of had a feeling I was going to go because I just hadn't kept most of the challenges within time." ‌ Justifying their decision, Esme stated: "Peter, he was reflecting who he was, but it wasn't well sewn." Patrick chimed in: "Saffie, I'm disappointed because I would really like to see more from Saffie but her execution let her down." Meanwhile, Orla emerged as the top sewer after impressing the judges in both challenges. Speaking to the camera, an astonished Orla revealed: "I truly didn't expect to win it for sports, so I'm really happy. I mean, I couldn't have asked for anything better, really." Patrick added: "Orla was a very deserving winner of Garment of the Week, she absolutely nailed that athleisure brief." The Great British Sewing Bee airs on Tuesdays at 9pm on BBC One.
