Clark began to gain notoriety when she was a member of the University of Iowa women's basketball team. She continued to succeed, post-college as she became the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer for both men's and women's basketball, earning the No. 1 spot in the WNBA Draft in 2024, and dominated her first year in the league earning WNBA Rookie of the Year, to just name a few of her achievements. While Clark has the accolades to back up allegations, sports reporter Joy Taylor suggests that another WNBA player made her the popular player she is today. Advertisement '[The Clark vs. Reese rivalry] has now spun into this thing where, like, Caitlin is better than Angel, and blah blah blah,' Taylor said on The Joe Budden Podcast. 'I just said that we would not be talking about Caitlin Clark the way that we do if it wasn't for that moment with Angel Reese. And I will die on this hill. I will die on this hill.' Taylor claims Angel Reese is the reason that Clark has so much media attention due to their NCAA rivalry. Many Clark fans have defended the Indiana Fever star against Taylor's opinion as it has been raised several times online. 'It's crazy to me, every time I bring this up, they're like, 'Angel's not better. We would've been talking about her anyway.' No the f**k you wouldn't. You f*****g wouldn't,' said Taylor. 'And the reason you wouldn't is I do this every godd**n day. I know what we talk about on my show. We were not doing WNBA topic — whole 15-minute segments — on the f**king show until that happened.' Advertisement She continued, 'F**k off. I know what I'm talking about. It's not about saying that Angel's better than Caitlin or that Caitlin wouldn't be a great player. It's principle storytelling. Credit: Brad Penner-Imagn Images Despite rumors online, neither Clark or Reese has said that their is a dislike of one another outside of typical competitiveness while playing the game they both love. 'I think it's just competition, it's been competition since college,' Reese said during the interview with Complex's Speedy Morman in November 2024. 'Being able to play against Caitlin, I've been playing against Caitlin since we were probably in eighth or ninth grade. We both were really competitive in AAU. I went to Maryland, she went to Iowa so we competed there and then finally being able to compete in the national championship. People don't know the legacy of us being able to play against each other for a really long time.' Advertisement The Chicago Sky star added that there is a bigger goal in mind — expanding women's basketball. 'Obviously social media is going to put two women against each other,' Reese continued. 'I think it's been something that's negative, but also positive. I think it shines light on women's basketball so I'll take that of being able to be the person that gets the hate but I know that at the end of the day I'm growing women's basketball and helping women's basketball.' As for Clark, she shared how her relationship with Reese stands on and off the court. 'We're not best friends, by any means, but we're very respectful of one another,' Clark told TIME when she was named Athlete of the Year in 2024 by the publication. 'Yes, we have had tremendous battles. But when have I ever guarded her? And when has she guarded me?' she said. Advertisement She added: 'The only thing people cared about was this controversy that was really fabricated and made up, and then that has continued to be the case ever since.' Clark recently received a flagrant foul against Reese during their team's 2024 season's opener. While Reese didn't make much more of the situation calling it 'basketball play. Refs got it right. Move on,' Clark also defended herself against the play. 'Let's not make it anything that it's not,' said Clark afterward. 'It was just a good play on the basketball. I'm not sure what the ref saw to upgrade it. That's up to their discretion after watching the initial whatever happened during the play and then whatever happened after.' 'It's a take foul, to put them at the free throw line,' she added. 'I wasn't trying to do anything malicious. That's not the type of player I am.' Marc Lamont Hill Breaks Silence on Viral Video of Him Getting Pepper Sprayed During a Talk
In 2024, scholar, author and activist Marc Lamont Hill was the victim of a terrifying attack during a speaking engagement that left him and those who witnessed it in complete shock. Hill, who has not previously spoken about the event, just gave us more details about the incident and the woman who instigated it. On the June 12 episode of 'The Joe Budden Podcast,' Hill explained that an alleged stalker attacked him with pepper spray at a Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day event in his native Philadelphia, which took place across the street from his bookstore, Uncle Bobbie's Coffee & Books. The woman — who apparently believed Hill was part of a government plot against her — approached the stage where he was sitting and pepper-sprayed him. Hill shot behind the stage curtains until security could restrain the woman. 'She had written a letter to me, saying that she was trying to talk to me about how the CIA and Joe Biden were trying to frame her for murder,' Hill explained. A video of the incident has recently resurfaced on social media. Although the incident was extremely serious, host Joe Budden still managed to find a way to make a joke. When teased by Budden that the alleged stalker might have been upset about a romance gone wrong, Hill quickly denied having any ties with his alleged attacker. 'Not only did I not hit, I never met her before. It was clear she was a crazy person, right?' he asked. In case you were wondering, Hill, who has been outspoken about finding alternatives to calling the police, told Budden that he understood the woman was mentally ill and never planned to get law enforcement involved. 'You can hear me on the tape say, 'Do not call the police,'' he said. 'I walk it like I talk it. She was mentally ill. She had been stalking me for a couple of weeks, and I didn't know … I never met her before.' Hill shared more about how he's engaged with the woman's family since the incident on social media. 'I have worked with her family and community members to enable a restorative process. Through the process, I have learned that she did indeed suffer significant childhood abuse, as well as serious mental health challenges that continue to this day. Instead of criminal prosecution, I have done my best to make sure that she receives social and mental health support to help her heal as best as possible,' he wrote in part in a June 12 post on X.

Pusha T On Current Relationship With Ye: 'I Don't Think He's A Man'
Clipse is gearing up for their first group release in over a decade with upcoming album, Let God Sort 'Em Out. During a promo discussion with GQ, Pusha T opened up about the state of his relationship with Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, after their business and personal relationship crumbled in late 2022. The interview comes days after Ye took to Twitter/X to declare, 'I miss me and Pusha's friendship.' According to Push, however, that won't be enough to bring the former collaborators back together. He starts by saying that his and Ye's friendship began to unravel long before the producer's 2022 anti-semitic rants put the nail in the coffin, admitting that, 'the last few months or years of his time with Kanye were him 'playing the industry game' more than anything.' 'I realized at certain points that I was really alone in everything that was going on as far as rap drama, so on and so forth,' Push shared. The rapper previously stated on The Joe Budden Podcast that Ye was iffy with his support of Pusha T in his battle with Drake. Push added that the energy within Ye's camp became concerning at one point. 'I'm in a collective of a lot of individuals. Everybody's working, but I really got sh*t to do, and I leave and it's one energy, and then when I come back, the energy's off. And then you hear about the sidebar conversations. You got your homeboy who coming up to you like, 'Yo, they was saying this when you left.' I'm thinking that we all in this collectively getting busy. But in all actuality, everybody had their own agendas. And I feel like I was the only one who didn't. My agenda was for the squad. So from that point on, I just looked at everybody differently, and I looked at it as, We're just going to make music. We're going to get beats. We're going to write some raps. And we going to keep it moving.' The Virginia MC added of Ye's most recent rant against him, 'It's like, bro, you've been mentioning me, screaming about me… you got every soul believing that I've done such a great injustice to you. And that's a lie. He goes on his rants. The one thing that I can say about him is that he knows that every issue that he's having and crying about online right now, I've told him distinctly about those things, distinctly. So when he gets up there and with his KKK mask and he's screaming behind it like a pro wrestler—he got to scream behind a mask. He don't talk to me like he talks to others. 'We made some great sh*t, bro. We did,' Pusha acknowledged. 'But…let me tell you something. He's a genius. And his intuition is even more genius level, right? But that's why me and him don't get along, because he sees through my fakeness with him. He knows I don't think he's a man. He knows it. And that's why we can't build with each other no more. That's why me and him don't click, because he knows what I really, really think of him. He's showed me the weakest sides of him, and he knows how I think of weak people.' Pusha was also able to acknowledge some good Ye has done, sharing, 'The greatest thing he did and why I am okay with where me and him are right now—and I'm cool with staying that way—is because at the end of the day, my truth is my truth, but I still respect what he did in the business. 'It's only because I've travelled so much." But guest host and academic Marc Lamont Hill then asked Wiz if he had ever travelled to the edge of the Earth. Seemingly referring to the supercontinent of Pangaea, he said: 'Nah, it's not that. I think that there's more masses than just what we see because it was one thing before and it spread out. 'Because when I travel, the routes that we take and how we do it, it's not possible to go up and down. You're just going straight. That's the only reason I think that." The 37-year-old musician also cast doubt on space exploration. He said: 'I don't believe in space exploration at all. I don't believe that they explore space as much as they say that they do." Despite his comments, the 'See You Again' hitmaker's latest album, 'Kush + Orange Juice 2', features a photo of a round Earth on its cover. The record is a follow-up to his 2010 album but Wiz recently admitted he 'wasn't into doing a sequel" and 'would always leave 'Kush + Orange Juice' alone", but his thoughts changed when he began working on the record. He told 'I just thought, 'What would be the most satisfying for the fans and the people who support me? Should I start over and do something brand new, or re-create something that they already love and that they're already used to?' 'So that's what made me make the decision to work on a follow-up."
