Taron Egerton gives hopeful update on Kingsman 3

Taron Egerton still thinks a third Kingsman movie will happen. Work on the next action/spy flick has been ongoing since the 2021 prequel The King's Man, though director Matthew Vaughn, 54, previously said the project had been slowed due to Egerton's busy schedule. Now, the 35-year-old actor - who portrayed Gary 'Eggsy' Unwin in 2014's Kingsman: The Secret Service and its 2017 sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle - has insisted that he, Vaugn and Harry Hart actor Colin Firth are all still keen to make a third movie. When The Playlist asked Egerton about Vaughn's delay comments, he replied: 'Is that what he said? Yeah, he's so funny. 'He did call me on Friday night, actually. Yeah, look, we both want to do it. And I know Colin is open to doing it, too. 'I think the interesting thing will be figuring out whether we all see the same thing. I love Matthew. Matthew is like family to me. 'I really think there's a brilliant story to tell with the third Kingsman. And I still think it will happen.' Kingsman: The Secret Service - which also starred Mark Strong, Michael Caine and Samuel L. Jackson - follows a rebellious teen who is recruited into a secret spy organisation and trained to become a gentleman agent. As a tech billionaire plots global destruction, the rookie must rise to the challenge and stop him before it's too late. The film proved to be a critical and commercial hit when it debuted in 2014, bringing in $414.51 million at the box office on a production budget of $81 million. While the sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle wasn't as well-received by critics when it released in 2017, it was still a box office success - grossing $410.9 million against a production budget of $104 million. Egerton previously said he hoped the third Kingsman movie would be a 'fitting' conclusion to the spy franchise. He told Collider: '[Vaughn] has every intention of making it, and I have every intention of playing Eggsy one more time. That was always what I thought I was committed to doing. 'It's the role that made my name, I suppose, in a way, I just want it to be absolutely right if we do it again, and I want the story to do justice to the part that really changed my life. 'I want it to be a fitting ending. And I would, obviously, really hope that Colin would come back for at least a part of it, and who knows? We'll have to see, but we are planning to talk about it, actually, the next time we see one another, so who knows? Watch this space.' The Rocketman star suggested the Argylle filmmaker wanted to put the relationship between Eggsy and Harry to the test in the third movie. Egerton explained: 'Eggsy and Harry [will be in it], obviously. But it's the gang coming back together, and it's one of those moments that ... when we wrote the screenplay, it was very much about, okay, I saw how people loved the relationship of Eggsy and Harry. 'So we just came up with this thing, what could be the ultimate reason for them to either fall in love or to hate each other forever? So that's what this movie is all about is will they or won't they, let's just say.'

Netflix series about Spotify's origins sees resurgence in popularity

Netflix 's The Playlist, a six-part miniseries fictionalizing the creation of Spotify, is experiencing a resurgence years after its 2022 debut. Despite initially being overlooked by many subscribers, the show has garnered a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes and critical acclaim for its 'near-perfect' portrayal and critique of the music industry. Inspired by the book Spotify Untold, the series dedicates each episode to a different facet of the music industry, offering varied perspectives. Netflix has a habit of prematurely cancelling acclaimed series, including past examples like The OA and Mindhunter. The recent cancellation of the murder mystery The Residence, starring Uzo Aduba, is highlighted, despite its positive reviews and strong ratings, possibly due to high internal performance expectations.

Secret Netflix code discovers 'riveting' mini-series with 100% rotten tomatoes rating as viewers rave it's a 'must see'

A Netflix mini-series which is discovered with a 'secret code' and it has a 100 per cent Rotten Tomatoes score. Inspired by the non-fiction book Spotify Untold, Netflix's The Playlist has been lauded by fans after Unilad uncovered a new way to find new shows. According to the publication, they found the show through using the 'music genre category' which reportedly changed their algorithm to show a range of new shows. And The Playlist was one of the top shows found with the 'new code' and it has already bagged a perfect score on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatoemeter. The six-episode series follows entrepreneur Daniel Ek (Edvin Endre) and his business partner Martin Lorentzon (Christian Hillborg). It sees Daniel, a Swedish tech entrepreneur, and his partners set out to revolutionize the music industry with a streaming platform. Each episode unfolds from a different perspective, including programmers, lawyers, artists and industry executives, to show how Spotify revolutionized the way we listen to music. And viewers have raved about the show as they said it 'raises pertinent and unsettling questions.' One penned: 'The Playlist starts out like a conventional biopic but culminates with a critical look at the industry.' 'While modernist in its methods, the series smoothly and intelligently weaves its stories into an enlightening whole, forming a vivid impression of life at the heady frontlines of the bloodless digital revolution.' 'The series is limited by its decision to show the most benevolent angle of such a savage industry.' 'The Playlist is near perfect. The mini-series sets the bar high for all biographical dramas to come after it. Particularly because it captures the ills of the tech industry, the joy, the fallout, and the many many people that all go into one success...' 'Tells the story of Spotify from various perspectives... That structure helps slice up a story that doesn't have a ton of conflict.' And The Playlist was one of the top shows found with the 'new code' and it has bagged 100% on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatoemeter 'Riveting enough to be a definite binge watcher. Great casting and authentic acting.' 'Great show. It shows different perspectives, one per episode but still goes on in time. Especially the last episode is a nice surprise but I wont spoiler :)' 'The way they showed how the journey of each individual played into the plot was very impressive. A 10/10 absolute binge worthy' The Biography drama was first aired in October, 2022 on Netflix and also bagged a score of 7.4 on IDMb.

Is Squid Game getting an American spin-off? Everything we know so far

By Aman Shukla Published on June 28, 2025, 20:12 IST Last updated June 28, 2025, 20:15 IST Squid Game took the world by storm, and now that its third and final season hit Netflix on June 27, 2025, fans can't stop talking about what's next. With Seong Gi-hun's story wrapped up, whispers of a spin-off are growing louder. From a surprise cameo in the finale to rumors of a Hollywood heavyweight jumping on board, here's the scoop on whether the Squid Game universe will keep going. The End of the Main Series Let's start with the big news: Squid Game Season 3 is the end of the road for Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae). Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk has said it plain and simple: 'The story I wanted to tell came to a full closure at the end of season 3' (Entertainment Weekly). The finale delivers a gut-punch ending to the tale of desperate folks battling it out in deadly childhood games for a huge cash prize. But just when you thought the games were over, the show throws in a curveball—a cameo that's got everyone buzzing about a possible spin-off. That Finale Cameo: A Clue to What's Next? Spoiler Alert: If you haven't watched Season 3, skip this part! In the last episode, we get a jaw-dropping moment: a big-name Hollywood star shows up in a scene set in Los Angeles. The Front Man, Hwang In-ho (Lee Byung-hun), spots a woman playing ddakji with someone, just like the recruiters did back in Season 1. It's a clear hint that the games aren't just a South Korean thing anymore—they might be going global. Fans are losing it over this, and it's got folks wondering if a new series is in the works, maybe set in the U.S. Netflix hasn't said anything official yet, but this feels like a deliberate tease. A Surprise Cameo Hints at a Spin-Off The hottest rumor out there is about an American version of Squid Game , and it's got a big name attached: David Fincher. Yup, the guy behind Fight Club and Mindhunter . Word on the street—well, more like reports from places like What's on Netflix and The Playlist —is that Netflix has been eyeing an English-language series called Squid Game: America since at least April 2023. Fincher's supposedly directing and producing, with British writer Dennis Kelly ( Utopia ) penning the script. It wouldn't be a remake but a new story in the same universe, with fresh faces and maybe some new twisted games. Here's the catch: Netflix hasn't confirmed it, and Fincher's keeping quiet. Still, Hwang Dong-hyuk sounds thrilled about the idea. He told GamesRadar+, 'As a big fan of David Fincher, I hugely respect a lot of his work. If he actually were to do the spinoff of Squid Game , I personally, as a fan, I am very excited to see what happens.' If Fincher's involved, you know it's gonna be dark, intense, and probably a little unsettling—perfect for Squid Game . Production might kick off in Los Angeles as early as December 2025, according to some reports, but until Netflix gives the green light, it's all speculation. That Season 3 cameo, though? It's making this rumor feel a lot more real. Ahmedabad Plane Crash Aman Shukla is a post-graduate in mass communication . James Bond fans crushed after discovering Hollywood legends' 1960s-set pitch

It has been revealed that two Hollywood icons once pitched a Cold War-era James Bond, but it is officially off the table, leaving fans devastated. Tony Gilroy, best known for Michael Clayton and the Bourne films, and Steven Soderbergh, famous for directing box office hits Ocean 11 and Erin Brockervich, were set to team up to bring back classic Bond. The Hollywood duo wished to create a Bond reboot firmly set in the 1960s, far removed from today's CGI and gadgets. The directors wanted to strip Bond back to knives and suits, in an attempt to bring back the origin of the infamous spy franchise. However, the pair proposed a 1960s James Bond to Barbara Broccoli, who was responsible for the creative control of the movies at the time. In February 2025, Broccoli and Michael G Wilson sold the creative control of the Bond movies to Amazon MGM for $1billion. Despite no longer being involved in the creative direction of the upcoming films, the pair still have a say in any matters related to the franchise as they both remain co-owners. In an interview with The Playlist in 2020, Soderbergh revealed: 'We were at odds about some things that were important. We had some great conversations. It was fun to think about, but we just couldn't…. the last ten yards were, we just couldn't do it, we couldn't figure it out.' The award-winning partnership has been in the works for the past eight years, with the pair both sharing a passion for creating the next big blockbuster spy film. The main reason the period pitch died was due to the creative directors wanting the modern Bond films to reflect modern times, rather than bringing in elements of nostalgia. Many Bond superfans took to X to express their opinions on what could have been fantastic cinema. 'Cool, thanks for telling me the only thing i've ever wanted will never happen,' wrote @nonemorevasta. Another fan, @delaibessa, said: 'Sometimes take these things to your grave. What's the point of increasing the anguish and loss in our already painful existence.' 'They should still make it. Even if unofficial. Just like MI series,' @fictusfilms added. As long as Amazon is in charge of the creative direction of Bond, much to the fans' dismay, a retro setting is very unlikely. The next James Bond film is believed to be deep in development. The film has a £250million budget, which is around the same as No Time To Die, with Amy Pascal and David Hayman leading the writers' room once again. 'Bond 26' is expected to be released in late 2027, around October, to replicate the previous release dates. Despite rumours of scripts being well underway, there has still not been any public knowledge on who will play the iconic James Bond. More Trending Daniel Craig played 007 in five films over 15 years, but made his final appearance in 2021. No Time To Die marked a clear end to Craig's Bond era with his character's death – this was also monumental to the franchise as it was the first time 007 has died on screen. There has been many rumoured Bonds to replace Daniel Craig, from Aaron Pierre to Henry Cavill and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, just to name a few. We will all be keeping our eyes peeled to see who will be putting on 007's suit. Got a story?
