Glastonbury Festival 2025 will come to a close tonight with a headline set from Olivia Rodrigo, as well as performances from Rod Stewart and The Prodigy Glastonbury Festival 2025 is drawing to a close, but before Worthy Farm bids adieu to its festival-goers for another two years, there's still one more action-packed day to enjoy. Olivia Rodrigo will be taking centre stage at the Pyramid Stage tonight to wrap up the festival, making her the second youngest artist to headline this iconic stage, following Billie Eilish in 2022. If you're tuning in from home, you can still join in the fun with BBC's The Glastonbury Hits Channel, which has been streaming classic tracks and memorable performances. Performances from the Pyramid Stage will be available to stream live in Ultra High Definition and in British Sign Language, reports Somerset Live. If you're more inclined towards radio, you can catch the action across BBC Radio 6 Music, BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4 and BBC Sounds. Reason why there is no Glastonbury Festival in 2026 revealed
GLASTONBURY is in full swing and festival-goers will want to make the most of this year. The iconic festival announced it will not be going ahead in 2026, and here's why. 2 Glastonbury will not take place in 2026, but don't worry because the iconic festival will return (stock image) Credit: Getty Organisers revealed they will be taking a break next year as the festival takes a fallow year. This is a planned respite where the event does not take place, allowing the farmland to recover. In turn, this will allow the natural environment at Worthy Farm to regenerate. Glastonbury takes a hiatus every five years to avoid causing irreparable damage to the working pastures. Read More On Glastonbury "The fallow year is important because it gives the land a rest, it gives the cows a chance to be out for longer and reclaim their land," co-organiser Emily Eavis told the Fallow year Fallow years are common in agricultural practices, where farmers leave land unplanted to improve soil quality. This allows the land time to replenish its nutrients, improving it for cattle grazing. While the festival's last official fallow year took place in 2018, organisers had to cancel two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid pandemic. Most read in Showbiz Co-organisers explained that Glastonbury was once again "due a fallow year". "Sustainability and the need to live in harmony with the land has always been vital to Glastonbury Festival," Emily said. Recently reunited noughties pop band accidentally reveal secret Glastonbury set "And I think it's important because it just gives everybody a little time to just switch off". The fallow year also offers a break for the local community in the village of Pilton. Environmental concerns To further limit harm to the local environment, organisers have implemented a series of initiatives to reduce any waste left on-site. A "love the farm, leave no trace" pledge has been introduced, which festival-goers are asked to sign up to when purchasing a festival ticket. As well as this, single-use plastic plates, cups, mugs, and cutlery have also been banned on site. The Prodigy announces return to Dublin with headline 3Arena show
The Prodigy have announced their return to Dublin with special guest Carl Cox by their side. They're coming to Ireland as part of the Ignition tour next year, with shows in Dublin's 3Arena and the SSE in Belfast. They'll be playing the hits from their seven number one albums with Carl Cox spinning the tunes creating a two hour set for punters. The announcement comes as the group plan to return to Glastonbury for their first performance at the iconic festival following the passing of Keith Flint in 2019. This will be their fourth performance at the festival, bringing the weekend to a close on The Other stage on Sunday and follows stunning sets at Coachella and Summer Sonic. Tickets go on sale this coming Friday, June 27 and presale will begin on Wednesday, June 25. They can be bought on Ticketmaster and The Prodigy website. The Prodigy's Liam Howlett said: 'We're bringing back that full experience of non-stop noise and beats from doors to getting chucked out. It will be that full Prodigy ruckus as it was then and how it continues to be now… and droppin' new tunes for the people… We've got our old friend Carl joining us so expect full attack mode, factor 9…Let's go !' Carl Cox added: 'I love working with these guys and it's such a long time since I have. They knew me that last time I was out playing 3 turntables, and the type of music I was playing was hardcore rave music, so that's what I'm going to be doing, playing that sort of sound and into the new skool, I'm really looking forward to it, so here we are Carl Cox and The Prodigy back again to rip up the dance floors." Glastonbury weather warning for fans after heatwave
Glastonbury guests have been advised to pack their wellies as the annual music extravaganza kicks off tomorrow with the 'wettest weather' on the way after the heatwave Wet weather is winging its way to Glastonbury on Wednesday according to the latest forecast before the annual music festival kicks off. Revellers can't wait to camp out at Worthy Farm in Somerset to see the likes of Charlie XCX and The Prodigy take to the stage, however, they should pack their wellies - despite the country's recent heatwave. After the glorious sunshine we've been enjoying, Wednesday will see "the wettest weather" according to the BBC. Warning there may be heavy rain and thunderstorms, its forecast says: "Westerly winds have now pushed the heat and humidity away, temperatures have dropped and it feels fresher. Maximum temperatures for the next few days will be around 22C and overnight temperatures will be typically down to 12C. Unfortunately, on Wednesday is when we could see the wettest weather." READ MORE: Neil Young leaves BBC with Glastonbury headache as star makes unusual demand It continues: "Warm and muggy air from the Bay of Biscay could combine with a band of rain coming in from the Atlantic to bring heavy rain and thunderstorms into the evening. At the moment it is a risk." The good news is that after Wednesday night it should be dry and it is possible that any storms seen tomorrow will be further east and so the rain won't amount to much. Thursday and Friday may be windy, but there will be some sunshine at times. However, the best weather looks like it's reserved for the weekend as the forecast predicts: "South-westerly winds will become lighter and with more sunshine it will be warmer. Temperatures could be a very pleasant 25C." Rain or shine, Glastonbury fans will be there in their droves, partying the day - and night- away as they descend upon the West Country for the star-studded festival. Ahead of the shenanigans, one keen festival lover sparked a flurry of invaluable advice on a Glastonbury Festival Reddit thread after asking, "Give me your most unique/useful items on your packing list. Something that you swear by..." resulting in a whole host of savvy suggestions for this summer's event. Giving their tips for the festival, which is predicted to attract a whopping 200,000 ticket holders, one reveller replied: "Change of clothes to be left in the car. There's so much joy in a fresh t-shirt and socks to drive home in." Another fan shared: "Not sure if this is my main answer, but today I've decanted some liquid soap into a little travel bottle so I don't ever have to use that grim sanitiser stuff at the toilets (which apparently doesn't kill things like norovirus anyway)". And offering an ingenious organisational hack, a third advised adding a 'bedside table' to their Glasto gear for camping convenience. They replied: "Small collapsible boxes from Ikea for keeping stuff organised in the tent. They're fabric and super lightweight. "Sooo helpful to stop me losing things somewhere on the tent floor every 5 minutes".
