Rocky Horror is turning 50 and you can celebrate with the cult classic's stars in NYC

Talk about a Time Warp: The Rocky Horror Picture Show has been part of the pop culture landscape for a full five decades now. Originally released in theaters September 25, 1975, the future cult classic made barely a splash during its initial theatrical run, despite the presence of pre-fame Barry Bostwick, Tim Curry, and Susan Sarandon. But in the years since, the musical took on a whole new life as a midnight movie sensation, potentially keeping fishnets on the market long past their natural expiration date. And to celebrate its big 50th anniversary this year, actors from the beloved film have been touring North America with a very special iteration of the beloved screening tradition, giving fans a chance to party with the stars. And the tour just announced a stop in New York City: On Friday, November 7 at 7:30 p.m., bring your rubber gloves and noisemakers to The Town Hall, where stars Bostwick (Brad), Nell Campbell (Columbia) and Patricia Quinn (Magenta) will be on hand for a very special screening. Each stop on the tour includes a costume contest and a screening of the film, with a 'shadow cast' of locals performing scenes in front of the screen—which is to say, it's a glitzier, starrier version of your classic midnight movie screening. Budget your props and costumes accordingly! ' Rocky has changed lives, not just ours, and had a profound effect on how we accept our differences in this world,' Barry Bostwick said in a statement. 'We were fitted for our corsets and high heels and enthusiastically started singing songs that have endured for all these years. And 'dammit Janet'! I have made nerds cool.' 'Fifty years ago, I auditioned for The Rocky Horror Show at the 60-seat Royal Court Theatre Upstairs in London," Patricia Quinn added. "I asked my agent, 'What's it about?' He replied, 'Something to do with a circus.' He wasn't wrong. I've been in this circus ever since! 'Cirque Du Rocky Horror' I'm lucky! We're all lucky!! Don't dream it be it.' 'I never would have thought all these years later we'd be touring our little ole film,' Campbell said. 'I'm so thrilled to get back on the road and to meet several generations of fans. Looking forward to a lot of fun just like it always was!' And if you can't make it the night of November 3, never fear: A Broadway revival of the stage show is headed to Studio 54 next spring, directed by Tony winner Sam Pinkleton (Oh, Mary).

‘I miss it so much. But I don't have any regrets': Jennifer Zamparelli on family life, finances and what's next after leaving full-time radio

Feeling the benefits of a year-long hiatus, broadcaster, businesswoman and advocate Jennifer Zamparelli talks about her upcoming role in The Rocky Horror Show with childhood crush Jason Donovan, a new comedy podcast and why she will never stop working Today at 00:30 Jennifer Zamparelli arrives straight from the gym. 'I need it for the perimenopausal rage,' she laughs, as she sits down opposite me in our booth at The Devlin hotel. Her husband Lauterio, a stuntman and stunt co-ordinator, had jumped in with her on the session. Yes, she tells me drily, we are that couple who work out together. She's competitive, she elaborates, his presence makes her lift more and refuse to back down when it is possible she has taken on too much. 'Life is good,' she smiles, then adds of being perimenopausal, 'I'm pretty sure I am. I mean, the internet tells me I am.'

The gates are closed during non-camping hours, but patrons can park in the north shelter lot and walk to the recycling crate when the Blackwell preserve is open, officials said. Blackwell is open one hour after sunrise and closes one hour after sunset. The program is offered through a partnership with the county, the forest preserve district and Flat Can Recycling. Four Naperville restaurants have been recognized for their exceptional wine programs and pairing experiences by Wine Spectator. The magazine recently named its 2025 honorees, which includes Award of Excellence winners Sullivan's Steakhouse, 244 S. Main St.; Ramsay's Kitchen, 39 W. Jefferson Ave.; Fogo de Chao, 1824 Abriter Court; and Morton's The Steakhouse, 1751 Freedom Drive. This year, Sullivan's expanded its offerings with wine-pairing dinners that feature educational components, multicourse menus and exclusive access to limited-edition bottles, according to a news release from the Dividend Restaurant Group, whose brands include Sullivan's and Eddie Merlot's steakhouse. Eddie Merlot's Warrenville and Burr Ridge locations were also recognized by Wine Spectator. Jennifer Zamparelli has 'absolutely no interest' in Liveline gig

Jennifer Zamparelli says 'nobody can take over' from Joe Duffy as she revealed whether she would be expressing interest in the Liveline gig. The countdown is well and truly on for a major change at RTÉ as Joe prepares to step down from Liveline after 27 years at the helm. Duffy will present his final show on Friday, June 27, in what is sure to be an emotional day. His farewell party is set to take place in the Duke Pub in Dublin City Centre right after the show. Pic: Mary Browne via RTÉ Speculation has been growing over who will replace Duffy, with bookies tipping the likes of Katie Hannon, whose current affairs show Upfront has just been scrapped by RTE, to take over. Oliver Callan, who currently hosts the 9am to 10am slot on RTÉ Radio One, is also gaining serious momentum as the next potential presenter of the iconic phone-in show. Speaking on Oliver Callan's show on Thursday, former 2FM star Jennifer Zamparelli, whose name has also been thrown into the mix, made it clear where she stands on the matter. Pic: Brian McEvoy Despite previously telling The Irish Sun that she'd be 'mad' not to consider the role, she now told Oliver: 'Absolutely not. No interest, no.' The Dancing with the Stars host added: 'My view is that nobody can take over from Joe.' The RTÉ star left her radio gig with 2FM early in 2024 alongside a host of other big names, including The 2 Johnnies, Donncha O'Callaghan and Doireann Garrihy, who has since returned. Pic: Jennifer Zamparelli/Instagram The mother-of-two previously revealed that she was 'content' following her departure and now had some time where she could audition and make room for other exciting projects. Opening up about her 2FM departure on Thursday, Jennifer told Oliver: 'I did nothing initially. As women, we feel that we need to be doing all things, all the time, we must be busy.' The Dublin native also revealed she was surprised at the reaction of her children, Florence and Enzo, whom she shares with husband Lauterio, when she told them she was leaving radio. She said: 'Their reaction was quite surprising, because I've been in radio for 10 years and I've always worked in telly and radio, since they were alive,' adding that Florence was 'disappointed'. 'I was like 'oh my God, did I make the right decision?' You just can't win with kids, you absolutely can't.' Jennifer added: 'I miss it. I miss being on air. I miss the interaction with people, I miss the craic, I miss my team. But do I have any regrets? I don't think so, because I've been able to do so much other stuff.' Among the 'other stuff', of course, is Jennifer appearing in The Rocky Horror Show when the beloved musical returns to the Gaiety Theatre in August. The presenter and comic joins Jason Donovan who will return to the role of Frank N'Furter for the stage production.

Richard O'Brien reveals this famous rocker tried to buy ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show' film rights

Owned by Jagger. In the new documentary 'Strange Journey: The Story of Rocky Horror,' creator Richard O'Brien revealed that Mick Jagger and his team tried to buy the film rights to 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' after the stage show made its US debut in 1974. But director Jim Sharman advised that they shouldn't go for Jagger's deal, and with producer Lou Adler's help, they created the film without a big name attached. 8 Richard O'Brien, Tim Curry and Patricia Quinn a lobby card from 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show.' Getty Images 'One of the great things about this is that we were a fringe theater event, and we were allowed to make a movie,' O'Brien, 83, said in the doc, according to People. 'Not only that, but Jim was allowed to direct it. Not only that, but Brian Thompson was allowed to be the artistic director. Not only that, but Tim [Curry] was allowed to play the lead role,' the famous producer continued. 'That's very rare, especially when it's America and a Hollywood matter.' 8 Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick, Jonathan Adams and Peter Hinwood on a lobby card from 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show.' [There were] three people who wanted to play [Dr. Frank-N-Furter] — Mick Jagger, Lou Reed, and of course, David Bowie,' Quinn, 81, recalled. '[They said] no Mick Jaggers, no Bowies, I'm having the original cast,' she added. 8 Mick Jagger with Sue Mengers at a stage production of 'The Rocky Horror Show' in Los Angeles. They agreed to present their own funds if the film didn't make that amount, per People. 'From the beginning, I had the feeling it was an event and something very, very special by the cast and the music, immediately,' Adler recalled of the original stage production, which premiered in London in 1973. 8 Richard O'Brien at the Oxford Union in March 2004. CLA/LFI 'Enough so that I wanted to make a deal that night,' he added. Adler also said that The Roxy in Los Angeles was the 'perfect' location for the show's debut in America. 'Sort of like cabaret, that you could go beyond sitting in a theater but you could enjoy the whole experience of it. And in the back of my mind, I just envisioned it as a film pretty much from the beginning,' Adler shared. 8 Lou Adler at his Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in 2006. © Mark Savage/Corbis He continued, 'The casting for the Roxy, we had some very, very talented people, most of who were local actors. I thought pretty much I couldn't duplicate Tim Curry. That was somebody we had to bring over, and that went for Richard also. But not only the fact that you're getting the actor that was in it, you're getting the creator.' 8 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' stars Richard O'Brien, Tim Curry and Patricia Quinn. 'We had a turn out of the rock and roll celebrities, the John Lennons and everyone wanted to be there for it,' he said.
