When put side by side with its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold7 looks very smart and thin. Its rumored girth is just 9mm when folded and 4.5mm when open. That's an impressive reduction compared to the 12.1mm and 5.6mm respective figures of the Galaxy Z Fold6. For the past few months, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has been in the talks for its slim build, and it is also anticipated to become the world's slimmest foldable. Now, in a new leak, the Galaxy Z Fold 7's slim design was compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, and it looks quite thin. The design comparison showcased how the new-gen stacks up to its predecessor, and what refinements we can expect this year. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is likely to come with a significantly slimmer design. Here's what we know so far.(TheSINZA/ YouTube) Also read: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 likely to be world's slimmest foldable- Here's what we know A Korean YouTube channel named 'TheSINZA' shared a comparison video between the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Fold 6. Well, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is yet to make an official debut, but the YouTuber seems to carry a dummy unit of the smartphone. In the video, we can see a slimmer and wider Galaxy Z Fold 7 in comparison to its predecessor, showcasing a drastically refined design of the foldable. Reportedly, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures 4.5mm in thickness when unfolded, and about 9 mm when folded. These numbers are significantly slimmer in comparison to the Galaxy Z Fold 6's 5.6mm and 12.1 mm thickness. The new foldable is even slimmer than the Galaxy S25 Edge, which measures 5.8mm in thickness. Furthermore, Samsung is also expected to introduce bigger displays from 7.6-inch to 8.2-inch main displays. Also read: Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 camera specs tipped ahead of July launch- All details The Galaxy Z Fold 7 may also introduce a punch-hole style camera on the main foldable screen instead of an under-display camera like the Fold 6. While this may raise some concerns, it is anticipated that a punch-hole camera may improve the image quality as it will not include layers of the screen to capture a selfie. Alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, we may also see other foldable phones such as the Vivo X Fold 5 and Honor Magic V5 in July. Therefore, these three foldable phones may give tough competition to each other in terms of design, performance, camera quality, and lasting battery life. Now, we simply have to wait and see which foldable smartphone dominates the market.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 looks stunningly slim in new leaked photo vs. Fold 6

We're likely to see the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 at next month's Samsung's Summer Unpacked event, and there's not much that hasn't already been leaked. But now we've got our first glimpse of Samsung's next-gen foldable alongside its predecessor to see how its rumored upgrades stack up — and the Galaxy Z Fold 6 looks like a brick by comparison. This week, Korean YouTube channel TheSINZA shared a hands-on video comparing a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy unit alongside last year's Z Fold 6 as well as the Z Fold SE, which was released exclusively in China and Korea. With competitors like the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and Motorola Razr 2024, the race is heating up for the best foldable phone crown. And it's clear Samsung has taken notice. The video confirms what these week's leaked Galaxy Z Fold 7 renders hinted at already: That Samsung's fixing two of the foldable's biggest problems with this upcoming generation. First up, its profile. In the video, the Z Fold 7 is noticeably slimmer and has a larger screen than the Z Fold 6. It measures at just 4.5mm thick when unfolded, compared to its predecessor's 5.6mm. For perspective, the Galaxy S25 Edge clocks in at 5.8mm, and its thin profile is its biggest selling point that distinguishes it from Samsung's flagships like the Galaxy S25. When folded, the Fold 7 measures at 9 mm, compared to the 12.1 mm of the Fold 6. But beyond the slimmer chassis, what catches your eye the most is the jump in screen size, with the Z Fold 7 upgrading to an 8.2-inch main display, up from the Z Fold 6's 7.6-inch display. The bigger display makes the Z Fold 7 look closer to something like the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra than its predecessor. The dummy unit also confirms that Samsung plans to ditch the Z Fold 6's under-display camera, which has been standard since the Galaxy Z Fold 3, for a punch-hole camera on the Z Fold 7's inner display. As impressive a technological feat tucking a camera under the display is, it often comes at the cost of image quality, as the camera has to capture photos through layers of the screen. Switching back to a punch-hole camera in the main display shouldn't affect usability, but it could significantly improve the camera's practicality for selfies and video calls. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Will these upgrades be enough to propel Samsung back to the top of our best foldable phones guide? We'll hold off on final judgments until the details are confirmed and we've had some hands-on time with the Galaxy Z Fold 7. We shouldn't have long to wait. While Samsung hasn't revealed a launch date yet, it looks like the Z Fold 7, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and the Galaxy Watch 8 could arrive on July 9 at a new Galaxy Unpacked showcase.

This Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy puts its ultra-thin design into perspective

TL;DR A new YouTube video shows a Galaxy Z Fold 7 dummy model based on leaks and rumors, giving our best look yet at the expected design. The video shows the foldable's slim profile, with side-by-side comparisons showing how much thinner it is than the Fold 6. The dummy also illustrates the switch to a punch-hole camera and a larger outer display. We're just weeks away from Samsung's next Unpacked event, but a new mockup is offering our clearest look yet at what to expect from the Galaxy Z Fold 7 physically. A TheSINZA YouTube video, shared on X by tipster Tarun Vats, gives us a close-up of a physical dummy unit of the foldable. To be clear, this isn't an official Samsung product. As the video notes, the dummy model was made in China and is based on publicly available rumors and renders. Still, it aligns with recent leaks we've seen, including the switch from an under-display camera to a punch-hole, a larger cover screen, and Samsung's focus on shedding both thickness and weight this generation. The Z Fold 7 dummy clocks in at just 9mm thick when folded, noticeably slimmer than the 12.1mm Fold 6 when compared in the video. When unfolded, it's said to be around 4.5mm thick, aligning with the rumored thickness. There's also a 6.5-inch outer screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio, which would make it more comfortable for one-handed use than earlier Folds. The video also cites a rumored weight of just 215g, which would make it lighter than both the Fold 6 (239g) and even the Galaxy S25 Ultra (218g). However, this looks to be speculation on the creator's part, as we have not spotted any leaks revealing this figure. Internally, the video lists the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy as the processor. That matches recent FCC filings, which also point to the inclusion of Wi-Fi 7, ultra-wideband, and wireless/reverse wireless charging. Samsung has described the Fold 7 as its 'thinnest, lightest, and most advanced foldable yet.' If this dummy model is a relatively accurate depiction of the final hardware, we're excited to get our hands on it. Got a tip? Talk to us! Email our staff at Email our staff at news@ .
