Park Bo Gum Gets A Sweet Surprise From IU On The Final Shoot Of The Seasons
Last Updated: IU also apologised to Park Bo Gum for not being able to attend his music program. South Korean singer and actress IU just gave her When Life Gives You Tangerines co-star Park Bo Gum a pleasant surprise. She sent a heartfelt message to him during the final shoot of The Seasons: Park Bo Gum' s Cantabile, which he co-hosts. While her message certainly left him emotional, what came after it brought tears to his eyes. The two stars share a close bond ever since they worked on the Netflix K-drama, which took the world by storm. They have always spoken highly of one another and supported the other whenever needed. So, the latest gesture made by IU was not something totally out of the blue. As Park Bo Gum was preparing to wrap up the show, a video message started playing. In it, IU congratulated him on the successful run of the show, saying, 'As much as it's your last shoot of The Seasons, I wanted to congratulate you via this video message." Further, she apologised for not being able to appear on any episodes of the show. The singer added, 'When you had your first broadcast, I said that I would definitely appear on the show. I apologise for not being able to keep my promise to be a guest. I'm really, really sorry. But you know my heart's sincerity and that I watched the broadcast almost every week, right? You were the best as an MC." Bo Gum shook his head softly, assuring her that it was alright. She continued, 'I was able to enjoy singer Park Bo Gum, performer/ musician Park Bo Gum, so it was great. You were really amazing on Cantabile. I'm so sorry about not appearing that…I'm here." Then came the twist. With a bunch of flowers in her hand, she entered onto the stage. She got down on her knees and presented the bouquet to her friend, who was already overwhelmed by her kind gesture. IU patted his back to calm him down. Park Bo Gum Got Emotional Seeing IU On The Stage Bo Gum had tears in his eyes when IU introduced herself as his 'friend." Seeing him all emotional, the audience, in harmony, said, 'Don't cry." IU even shared that she wanted to keep her appearance as cheerful as possible and did not want to make him cry. To this, the actor asked, 'What are you doing (here)?" She then explained that she had been waiting for the right time to surprise him, and she managed to squeeze in some time between her drama shoots. Furthermore, Bo Gum told the audience that he did not want to burden her by asking her to attend the show. So, he was as surprised as anyone in the room. Her kind act moved him to tears and became a happy memory for everyone who witnessed it. IU proves her true friendship with Park Bo Gum In a video clip from the set of the music program, IU could be seen in a video saying, 'As much as it's your last shoot of The Seasons, I wanted to congratulate you via this video message. When you had your first broadcast, I said that I would definitely appear on the show. I apologize for not being able to keep my promise to be a guest.' Park Bo Gum can be seen shaking his head at her sorry feelings, assuring her that it's okay. 'I'm really, really sorry. But you know my heart's sincerity and that I watched the broadcast almost every week right? You were the best as an MC. I was able to enjoy singer Park Bo Gum, performer/ musician Park Bo Gum, so it was great. You were really amazing on Cantabile. I'm so sorry about not appearing that…I'm here.' And in came IU, hiding her face behind a flower bouquet, which she presented to him, getting down on her knee and patting his back. The GOOD BOY actor could be seen getting teary-eyed as she introduced herself as his friend, making the audience chant 'don't cry'. IU spoke about wanting to keep it as cheerful as possible and did not expect him to choke with tears, to which he replied in disbelief, 'What are you doing? [here]' She shared how she was waiting a long time for her turn and managed to somehow find time amid her busy drama filming schedule. Park Bo Gum added how he did not want to pressure her by asking her to come to his show during their recent meeting at the 4th Blue Dragon Series Awards, so this was an unexpected surprise for him! Unabashedly Romancing The Monsoon
The monsoon brings with it the promise of flirtations and romance, creative imagination, poetry and music, musings and reflection. The pitter-patter of falling rain and cool, caressing breeze could rouse the dormant poet in anyone capable of finer feelings. What comes to mind is Meghdoot, The Cloud Messenger, by Kalidas, a lyrical narrative of a yaksha's yearning for his dear wife. Separated from his bride due to his master Kubera's orders, he pleads with the cloud to carry his message of love and longing, and the resultant 120 stanzas are an outpouring from a monsoon-inspired Kalidas. As a pluviophile, who enjoys rain, clouds, and even the darkness that comes with a looming monsoon, with perhaps thunder and lightning flashes, this is the perfect season for finer thoughts, to curl up in a cozy corner facing the window and read while listening to music, and generally let one's imagination run wild with passion. And Kalidas provides the perfect atmospherics, as he narrates the story of an exiled man pining for his bride, who is at home in the Himalayas. As eight months pass, the lover, emaciated, finds his gold bracelet slip down his wrist onto the floor. He asks the cloud to carry his heartfelt message to his wife, saying: "Though thou be pledged to ease my darling's pain, Yet I foresee delay on every hill Where jasmines blow, and where the peacock-train Cries forth with joyful tears a welcome shrill; Thy sacrifice is great, but haste thy journey still." In another verse from Ritusamhara (The Seasons), attributed to Kalidas, the poet speaks in the voice of the lonely lover pining for his lady love: To you, dear, may the cloudy time/Bring all that you desire, Bring every pleasure, perfect, prime/To set a bride on fire; May rain whereby life wakes and shines/Where there is power of life, The unchanging friend of clinging vines/Shower blessings on my wife. My favourite account is that of Alexander Frater, who, in his Chasing the Monsoon , says: "As a romantic ideal, turbulent, impoverished India could still weave its spell, and the key to it all - the colours, the moods, the scents, the subtle, mysterious light, the poetry, the heightened expectations, the kind of beauty that made your heart miss a beat - well, that remained the monsoon." Turning to her, she teased, 'Belle's mother said she had dibs on Park Bo Gum as her son-in-law.' Without hesitation, Belle broke into laughter and admitted, 'What happened is that rumors about this spread, but it's actually true. My mom is such a huge fan, so I think that's why she said that.'
