Uorfi Javed used to starve herself to look 'extremely' skinny: I was always cranky and annoyed
Social media star Uorfi Javed has come forward to talk about her struggles with body image, revealing that she would starve herself in an attempt to look thin. She revealed that there was a time when she used to have just 3–4 chicken pieces a day. Urofi Javed was seen on the reality web series, The Traitors. Uorfi on body dysmorphia Uorfi spoke about dealing with body dysmorphia during a chat with Anshula Kapoor on her YouTube show Bunkk with Uorfi. Talking about body image issues, Uorfi said, 'I developed body dysmorphia 3–4 years ago. I was starving. I stopped eating. I just wanted to be this really skinny person — like extremely skinny — so I just stopped eating. I would eat 3–4 chicken pieces a day and not even work out. I would just run." She opened up about struggling with her mental and physical well-being, admitting she wasn't in the best place. 'Mentally, I was f****d. I was always cranky, I was always annoyed. If anyone spoke to me, I would be like, 'Why are you talking to me?'" Uorfi admitted. During the chat, Uorfi shared that she's now in a much healthier place, saying, 'Recently, I have started going to the gym. I've started lifting weights. I've started eating well. Now I don't care about being skinny.' Uorfi was recently in the news for undergoing a lip filler dissolving procedure to fix her misaligned lips caused by the asymmetrical displacement of the filler. Her picture with a swollen face caused a frenzy on social media. She later took to Instagram to respond to the trolls. She captioned the photo dump, "All the trolling and the memes , honestly I had a good laugh! Here you go this is my face without the fillers or swelling now, not used to seeing my face or lips like that. I've used a lip plumper here tho." Urofi's recent project Urofi, who gained popularity for her quirky style and bold and unconventional fashion choices, was seen on the reality web series, The Traitors, which premiered on Prime Video. Urofi won the first season of The Traitors India alongside professional poker player Nikita Luther. Hosted by Karan Johar, The Traitors featured a star-studded cast including Karan Kundrra, Raj Kundra, Raftaar, Jasmin Bhasin, Anshula Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Jannat Zubair, Sudhanshu Pandey, Ashish Vidyarthi and others. A second season of the show was announced by the makers a few days ago.

No retakes, no scripts: The Traitors India director on filming show real-time
With its mind games, real-time tension, and unfiltered drama, 'The Traitors India' became an unexpected hit, winning over fans and critics alike. But behind the immersive format and stylish execution was director Nishant Nayak, a reality TV veteran who took on the challenging task of adapting a globally loved format for Indian audiences. In an exclusive chat with India Today, Nishant opened up about directing the format, why there were no retakes, and how authenticity became the show's biggest What drew you to 'The Traitors' and how did you view the challenge of adapting such a globally recognised format? Were you ever sceptical?Nishant: I'm usually brought in for first seasons, and that in itself is a massive responsibility, especially when it's an international format. You're expected to stay true to the global design while also localising it for Indian sensibilities. I always start by watching the original versions, and with The Traitors, I was hooked instantly. The psychological element, the mind games, the fact that it's not your typical studio-based show, it all excited me. There's something deeply nostalgic too, like playing Mafia with friends. I wasn't sceptical as much as I was aware of how high the bar was, and that we'd need to honour the format without losing our unique flavour. Q. What was the unique challenge with 'The Traitors' as a director, especially when you couldn't interact with the cast?Nishant: That was the golden rule, no interaction with the contestants. Not even a hello. I was just this guy running around with my camera team. The only one I spoke to on set was Karan Johar, because his segments were filmed separately. It was all real-time, no retakes. If something wasn't captured, that moment was just... gone. That made it thrilling and stressful. It was like shooting a live sport, we had to rely entirely on instincts and prep. The entire crew had to be invisible, like a fly on the the review of The Traitors India here.Q. There's always a lot of speculation about reality shows, 'Is it scripted or not?' Tell us a bit about that?Nishant: In most reality shows, narratives are constructed with the help of video diaries or in hindsight commentary. As a director, you nudge contestants to articulate what's happening for the edit. That's the only scripting - editorial framing. But The Traitors didn't even allow that. This was like capturing a cricket match, you film it as it happens and then reverse-engineer the story in post. You build the edit backward from the outcome. So, the show is as authentic as it gets. No second takes, no narrative You've worked on a wide range of formats - from 'Shark Tank' to 'Fear Factor'. What was it like working on something this layered and unpredictable?Nishant: Every format teaches you something. Here, the prep was intense because we were dealing with elements of captivity (Bigg Boss), stunts (Fear Factor), and live decision-making. I leaned on my experiences, and most importantly, on my team. We handpicked the best - from DOPs to camera ops - people who could anticipate action before it happened. Like that frame where a contestant threw something into the pond? It looked choreographed, but it wasn't. It was just perfect teamwork and readiness. I always made Plan A, B, and C - and sometimes D - because in India, delays are inevitable. You adapt.Q. Did you have a favourite contestant from 'The Traitors'?Nishant: (laughs) As a director, I had to stay neutral. But as an audience member? Elnaz was a standout. She understood the game and executed it with precision, especially that axe mission. Apoorva was wonderfully unfiltered. Uorfi, coming from a prior reality show, knew how to read the tempo and respond. I also appreciated how no one was nasty, there was strategy, but no toxicity. That's rare in reality TV, and it was refreshing to Finally, if you could tweak one thing next season, what would it be?Nishant: I'd love for a traitor to win, honestly. Priyanka Chopra reacts as Uorfi Javed slams man criticising her outfit in old video: ‘India me aise kapde allowed nahi'
The Traitors winner and social media influencer Uorfi Javed is known for her unique fashion statement. Often in the spotlight for her unapologetic fashion choices, she frequently finds herself at the centre of controversy. Amid this, an old video of her clapping back at a man who publicly criticised her outfit has resurfaced. The video has gained support from many on the internet, including Priyanka Chopra. In the video, Uorfi, in a green backless dress, is seen getting into a heated argument with a man while leaving the Mumbai airport. The man is heard telling her, "Allowed nahi hai aisa kapda India mein. India ka naam kharaab karrahe ho (These kinds of clothes are not allowed in India. You are ruining the name of India).' Replying to him, Uorfi said, "Aapke baap ka kuch jaa raha hai kya? Nahi jaa raha hai na aapke baap ka? Jao apna kaam karo (Mind your own business! Go do your job)." As the man repeats his words, Uorfi loses her calm. 'Teri beti hun? Ja na apna kaam kar. (Am I your daughter? Go mind your own business).' she blasted the man. The caption of the video reads, 'Uorfi got angry at airport.' The video is originally from 2023. The video has found its way back on social media once again, even liked by actor Priyanka Chopra among others. Reacting to the video, a user commented, 'Chapri Unemployed uncle poking his nose where it doesn't belong.' 'Uncle will stay shut when a guy would harrass a girl, when a woman will be molested, when his daughter will be beaten up; but here, uncle will speak just because he cannot handle that a woman can wear what she wants,' added another. One more also pointed out, 'Priyanka Chopra liked this video.' On the work front, Uorfi recently won the Karan Johar-hosted, first season of The Traitors India. Meanwhile, Priyanka was last seen in Amazon Prime Video's Heads of State. It also starred Idris Elba and John Cena in the lead. Priyanak is ready to return to Bollywood with her upcoming film. She is working with SS Rajamouli for an upcoming film, tentatively titled SSMB29. The film will also feature Mahesh Babu. Besides this, Priyanka also has The Bluff in the pipeline. She will also resume her role as Nadia in the second season of her web series Citadel.

The Traitors Winner Nikita Luther Makes SHOCKING Claim: ‘Editing Was Entirely Scripted…'
Nikita Luther, winner of The Traitors India, revealed that she knew Purav Jha was a traitor since day 6 of the show, but it was never shown. Professional poker player Nikita Luther and reality TV star Uorfi Javed emerged as the winner of the first season of 'The Traitors' India, hosted by Karan Johar. Days after her win, Nikita has made a shocking revelation. She said that while the show was not scripted, the editing was heavily manipulated to fit a scripted narrative. She said that she knew Purav Jha was a traitor since Day 6 of the show, but that part was completely cut out from the episodes, and was never shown. She added that the show was edited to favour certain narratives, turning some into heroes while diminishing the strategic moves of others. While speaking with Just Too Filmy about 'The Traitors', Nikita Luther said, 'The main thing that is not communicated is that I knew Purav is a traitor since day 6. And it's nowhere. They have not put it in episode 6, they have not put it in episode 7, 8, 9. Maine kaha chalo finale mein dalenge. Finale mein bhi mera Circle Of Shaq ka interrogation Purav wala they've cut it. (I thought they will add it in the finale. But they also cut my interrogation scene with Purav in the Circle Of Shaq during finale). So while the show was not scripted, the editing is heavily scripted. It is edited to favour certain narratives and given archetypes. Wo personalities assign kari hui hain logon ko and for me, it didn't come through. Fair enough, whatever the call was, but the editing was entirely scripted to make people heroes, and throw people off the game." She also said that she has explained why she declined the Traitors' invitation sent to her by Purav and Elnaaz. However, that part was not shown either. The Traitors, which was hosted by Karan Johar, featured an impressive ensemble — Karan Kundrra, Raj Kundra, Raftaar, Jasmin Bhasin, Anshula Kapoor, Maheep Kapoor, Jannat Zubair, Sudhanshu Pandey, Uorfi Javed, Apoorva Mukhija, Nikita Luther, among others.
