The Amazing World of Gumball Season 7: Release date, cast updates and what to expect next
By Aman Shukla Published on July 1, 2025, 18:00 IST Last updated July 1, 2025, 11:14 IST After six long years, The Amazing World of Gumball is finally making its big return—and fans couldn't be more excited. The quirky, chaotic, and surprisingly emotional animated series is officially coming back under a new name: The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball . It's the same Elmore we know and love, just dialed up a notch. So, what's new in Season 7? When can we watch it? And who's voicing who this time around? Let's break it down. When Can We Watch Season 7? Get your calendars ready: The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball hits screens in the U.S. on July 28, 2025, streaming on Hulu and Disney+ (you'll need a Hulu subscription for the latter). If you're outside the U.S., you'll have to wait a bit longer—Cartoon Network and HBO Max will start airing it internationally on October 6, 2025. I know, the wait feels like forever, but after six years, a few more weeks won't kill us (probably). Some early rumors tossed around a vague 2025-2026 release, but these dates are locked in, so start planning your watch party now! Who's Voicing the Watterson Family? The voice cast is getting a bit of a shake-up, but don't worry—the heart of the Watterson family is still there. Here's the scoop on who's bringing Elmore's residents to life: Gumball Watterson : Say hello to Alkaio Thiele, the new voice of our troublemaking blue cat. Previous actors like Duke Cutler (from The Gumball Chronicles in 2021) have moved on, and Alkaio's fresh voice keeps Gumball's youthful mischief alive. Darwin Watterson : Hero Hunter steps in as Gumball's goldfish-turned-brother, ready to deliver those classic Darwin one-liners and sibling loyalty. Anais Watterson : Kinza Syed Khan takes over as the super-smart bunny sister, replacing Kyla Rae Kowalewski. Expect Anais to keep outsmarting everyone as usual. Nicole and Richard Watterson : Thank goodness Teresa Gallagher and Dan Russell are back as the tough-as-nails cat mom and the lovably clueless bunny dad. Their voices are like comfort food for longtime fans. The Rest of Elmore: We're still waiting on details for fan-favorites like Penny, Rob, or Banana Joe, but Adam Long (Mr. Small) has confirmed he's returning, so expect some familiar faces. There might be a few new voices in the mix, too, to keep things fresh. The new voices for the kids make sense—actors age, and the show needs that youthful vibe. But with veterans like Gallagher and Russell sticking around, the Watterson family's chaotic charm is in good hands. What's Coming in Season 7? If you've watched Gumball , you know it's a glorious mess of silly gags, meta humor, and surprisingly deep moments. Season 7, rebranded as The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball , is leaning hard into that vibe. Here's what we're in for: The Void Takes Center Stage Remember that crazy Season 6 cliffhanger? Rob, Gumball's glitchy nemesis, warned about the 'Void,' a creepy dimension where the universe hides its mistakes. Season 7 is diving headfirst into this mystery, with Gumball, Darwin, and friends facing whatever weirdness the Void throws at them. Rob's back, and he's got a big role, so expect some epic showdowns and answers to questions we've been obsessing over since 2019. A Huge Season with 40 Episodes Season 7 is giving us a massive 40 episodes to binge, and I'm here for it. We know the titles of the first 26, like The Cancellationgation , The Speedrun , and The Proposal . These sound like a mix of the show's signature meta-humor (cancellation jokes, anyone?), fast-paced antics, and maybe even some romantic drama for characters like Penny. I'm already curious who's proposing! A Bolder, Weirder Vibe The new title isn't just for show—it's a hint that Season 7 is doubling down on Elmore's bizarre charm. The teaser trailer, dropped on May 19, 2025, shows the Watterson house all dusty and abandoned, with Gumball joking about being 'seven years late for school.' It's a cheeky nod to the hiatus, and with the show's mix of 2D, 3D, stop-motion, and live-action animation, it's going to look as wild as ever. THUNDERBOLTS*: Alternate Concept Art Reveals Wildly Different Looks for Sentry's Dark Side, The Void — GeekTyrant
Marvel fans are getting a new look at what could have been for one of the MCU's most powerful and darkest characters. Concept artist John Staub has shared a batch of alternate designs for Thunderbolts* that give us a peek at early explorations of The Void, Sentry's chaotic, unstable alter ego, and it's clear Marvel was seriously weighing different directions for the character's look. While the final film gave us a black shadow with glowing eyes, some of these concepts feel like intesting swings. 'Some explorations on The Void for the film Thunderbolts aka New Avengers,' Staub said in a social media post. 'We explored different possibilities that gave nods to the comic and tried to find the right look that was in line with the story that was being told.' As much as fans would've loved to see a full-on monstrous version of The Void, something closer to the demonic mass seen in the comics, it seems Marvel wanted a more restrained and symbolic interpretation for this version of the character. Still, Staub's unused artwork shows just how far they considered taking it, with several designs feeling more wild and more visually intense than what ended up on screen. This kind of behind-the-scenes look is always fascinating, especially when it shows Marvel actively toying with how much to lean into the weird, cosmic, and psychological horror aspects of their characters. The Void is one of the darkest forces in the Marvel Universe, and it looks like the visual development team gave that legacy some serious thought before landing on a final direction.

‘Everyone Is Here': Fans After Avengers Doomsday's Set Pictures Hint At X-Men Location
Last Updated: A couple of pictures from the sets of Avengers: Doomsday have surfaced online, showing a 1960s house with the sign "Chicago." It seems like the X-Men's role in Avengers: Doomsday is becoming clearer with every latest update. At a time when the cast of the upcoming Avengers film has been revealed, including Chris Hemsworth and Robert Downey Jr., Marvel Studios still has a fair share of surprises with the latest set pictures teasing an epic crossover. The new photos reportedly feature a 1960s-era house that is being built in Windsor, with leaked plans suggesting it could be a X-Men scene. Being widely shared across social media platforms, the post shows the house with a metal windmill outside, featuring a sign that states, 'Chicago." Fans also mention a spaceship, but that's about all of the available information. With very limited ideas to go on, fans wasted no time joining the dots. One of the fans pointed out that Hank McCoy, also known as X-Men's Beast, was shown as a native of rural Illinois in Marvel Comics' history. Having said that, should the scene feature him and a spaceship, fans wondered if it could be a scene where Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) meets McCoy. Some suggested that the house could belong to Monica Rambeau, who was last seen in the X-Men universe in The Marvels. Others wondered if it is home to Steve Rogers and Peggy Carter in alternate timelines. Interestingly, the ideas are largely speculative and remain unconfirmed. One wrote, 'Hank's from rural Illinois in the comics. If the ship does belong to Carol, maybe she's going to see Beast because that's where Monica is," while another added, 'Omg, is it Steve Rogers after he went back in time for Peggy?" I have a feeling it's gonna be Avengers: Eternity Wars or Avengers: Forever the 3rd part to Doomsday & Secret Wars I also find it a coincidence that they put that the same month as Doomsday & Secret Wars & year after Secret Wars or maybe it's an X-Men movie— ThatzJay (@NotThatzJay) June 19, 2025 On the other hand, various codenames are also being used for the house, referring to characters like Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and even The Void. Speculations are rife that it has been named after Annie Reynolds aka Sentry's mother, and may feature something related to The Void. A second house is set to be built for 'AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY' at Windsor Great Park. It is named after 'Annie Reynolds', Sentry's mother, and will feature something related to The Void. (Via: — Marvel Updates (@marvel_updat3s) June 18, 2025 This is not the first set of pictures that has ignited speculation of the Avengers and X-Men crossover. Earlier this month, cinematographer Newton Thomas Sigel, best known for his work on X-Men: Days of Future Past, dropped a first look at what appeared to be the franchise's X-Mansion. The picture added to the growing speculations about whether Marvel Studios has started laying the groundwork for the X-Men's much-awaited debut in the MCU. Avengers: Doomsday is set to release on December 18, 2026. THUNDERBOLTS* Director Reveals the Intense Character "Shame Room" Moments Cut From The Movie — GeekTyrant
Marvel's Thunderbolts* packs in plenty of action and emotional weight, especially in its final act where things get a little metaphysical. But according to director Jake Schreier, some of the film's gut-punching character moments, especially from The Void sequence, never made it to screen. In the film, Yelena, U.S. Agent, and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine all physically interact with Bob (aka The Sentry) and are pulled into their personal "shame rooms", which are psychological spaces forcing them to relive their darkest, most painful memories. The concept gets escalated later when Yelena enters The Void, where we briefly glimpse buried memories and trauma... but only hers and The Sentry's get any real screen time. Whiles peaking with Variety, Schreier confirmed that the rest of the team's journeys through The Void were indeed written and storyboarded. They were ready to go, but ultimately, left on the cutting room floor. The decision was made to center the film's emotional climax around Bob's internal battle rather than crowd it with too many competing threads. When talking about what was planned, Schreier revealed: 'We had Alexei in the gulag, I think, having been thrown in there. I believe Ghost's was about her time in the orphanage, and being this girl that no one wanted to be around — to be able to be invisible and see the way that you're perceived and no one wanting to associate with you felt very sad.' That sounds like another great scene for Ghost, a character who is already going through bouts of loneliness and struggle. As for Bucky's moment' 'We had a lot of different Bucky ones. We always wanted to do something a little less than the expected idea. There's some very obvious things for Bucky, but I think at one point, Joanna had written something around some shameful moment in Boy Scout camp. But I don't know that that would have really been the right path for it.' It's a glimpse into the kind of character-driven storytelling the cast was helping shape behind the scenes. Schreier praised the actors for staying tuned into their characters' emotional truths. 'That's the nice thing with working with these actors. They're such invested, caring guardians of their characters and their arcs that they'll let you know something feels false or not right to them.' While the final cut leaned into Bob's internal war and the massive implications of The Void , it sounds like Marvel fans were just a few storyboard pages away from a series of character-defining moments that could've made the ending even more emotionally charged. Would you want to see those deleted scenes in a director's cut?

Marvel begins Thunderbolts rebrand after post-credits reveal [spoilers]
Days after its May 2 debut, Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts is being rebranded in official marketing as The New Avengers. The rebrand follows the in-story reveal of the asterisk's meaning, which ties directly into the film's ending. The film concludes with the antihero team — Yelena Belova, Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, Ghost, Taskmaster, and John Walker — regrouping after stopping 'The Void.' They confront Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, but she deflects consequences by staging a press conference and presenting the group to the public as the 'New Avengers.' The post-credits scene confirms the team has already been operating under that name for over a year. Entertainment journalist Jarett Wieselman shared photos on social media showing updated billboards now using the New Avengers title. The quick turnaround may surprise some fans, but the Avengers branding is expected to drive broader interest. Marvel's move clearly signals its intent to position the team as central to the next phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The film also boasts a star-studded ensemble from the MCU. Returning cast members include Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour, Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Newcomers Lewis Pullman, Geraldine Viswanathan, Chris Bauer, and Wendell Pierce also join the cast. Jake Schreier directs, with Kevin Feige producing and Louis D'Esposito, Brian Chapek, and Jason Tamez as executive producers. The film is scored by Oscar-nominated band Son Lux. It blends action and introspection as the characters confront their pasts and seek redemption. With The New Avengers now headlining the franchise, Marvel is setting the stage for a bold new chapter.
